- UPDATE on the construction along Jomtien Pattaya Beach Road. Today I took a walk along the one-way system on Jomtien Pattaya Beach Road and checked out how the construction is progressing. The one-way system has been in place for a while and it seems to be better traffic flow along Beach Road.

Timeline and phases: The project began in March 2024 and is expected to last for approximately 19 months. It is being completed in phases, starting from the intersection of Pattaya Police Station Dong Tan Branch to Chaiyapruek Intersection.
Thanks Heath, Great to see things moving along nicely with the road works, It might take a while sometimes for the Local Goverment to make decisions on things
But i give them credit because when they do and start it's all steam ahead, I know its a bit of a disruption with the traffic flow and beach walkers but in the end once it's complete I think it will be great for the future of our Beautiful Jomtien Beach 🙏

Hello Heath,, one business owner on Beach Road told me 12 to 18 months,, road widening, drainage and better footpaths/sidewalks.. Who knows really how long !!!

Thanks for the update. As how long the road works are going to last: There was a sign at Chayaprukth corner saying the it would last 2 years. But the amazing part for me is that I tought they were widening the street. But I don't see that that the road will be wider. I only hope that the part they're doing now will be done in 5 months. For now, my walking paradise is broken... Thanks for the video.

Went down to Pupen for dinner last night. Should have taken the route around beach road instead. Baht buses combined with the construction was taking things down to a crawl.
Yes, the traffic is a bit of a problem at times down this end. 😳

I walked the majority of the works this evening - its a long walk, but I had t get my steps in - and to be fair to the lady, seeing the magnitude of the work and pace, it could very well be 4 years...

It might well be four years, I have been coming to Jomtien for years and always seem to be sat on the beach listening to construction noise all day, it's not good. And then you go up into Pattaya, always construction noise. It never seems to end.

Someone on an FB group finally properly explained where I can catch a baht bus into Pratamnak or the big malls from my condo off Soi Bunkachana. I knew it came down Second, but wasn't sure what intersection. I used to board it on Beach Rd. by The Grand Jomtien

It’s never going back to 2 ways and the work will take correct 4 years the security guard in my condo speaks fantastic English he confirmed 4 years lots more are going to be 1 way too this is just the start
Not sure it will remain one-way as they are widening the road to handle the two-way traffic. We will have to wait and see but I am sure we will soon get used to it. 👍
I like to sit and have a drink in Country Road then hop on a baht bus then I'm in central Pattaya in about 15 mins great!, now I've got to go all the way down Jomtien beach road then left then along Second Road in Jomtien then into Pattaya, would this be right?
You can just walk up to Second Road and walk up a bit away from the junction. Wave it down there.

No, there are no roadworks at the stretch of road as of now, but they are working on the pathway.
Trying to work out what exactly they are doing. New drainage?
