    Another great clip, Heath. The info you lay out about prices and places are a very necessary tool for anyone planning to come, or even for those who may be resident and be unaware. There is NO SUCH THING as TOO MUCH INFORMATION. Good quality, to the point, and without all of the wasted filler that so many other clips throw in that just waste time. Thank you for all of your efforts.

      The 24 to 26 degree range is optimal for all warm climates in the world. Some countries now even restrict the lowest temperature setting as the amount of energy used is very high at the lower end. Also the older the aircon unit the harder it works to achieve your temperature setting, so regular maintenance is important.

A week ago, middle of April, got a Bolt air conditioned taxi for 95 baht, from condo near the Jomtien bus station to Avenue shopping, or Soi 11. Motosai option would have been about 70 baht. I was wondering, would a Berkey stainless steel gravity water, purifying system work with tapwater in the Philippines?
    Or maybe a gravity feed set up with a Sawyer Water purifier for like backcountry backpacking.
    I used a Sawyer mini when I was in Cuba with their tapwater and never had any problem.
    I just bought a few bottles of purified water and refilled them with my gravity feed Sawyer mini set up. That saved me quite a bit of money, not having to buy bottled water all the time.

I am In condo tv has no wifi pack , I want some access to uk 🇬🇧 tv , not a lot , just a few channels , so they are nearly completing installation of super optic Ais wifi here. Once it’s done I assume I pay the Jurustic office for it once connected ? It’ll take a few weeks I’d think as are 20 floors here. And yes re the phone package. Last time I used Ais at airport. But this time I got free month sim with dtac on Thai business so carrying on with them. Very good , often have different packages to select even when in current one. I’m paying 900 b for 3 months , very reliable service so far , I saw yesterday 2500 for 12 months .. sorry for long message here 🙏

    Heath a question about the money transfer service, I understand it's not simple to walk in and open a Thai bank account if say staying in Pattaya for six months of the year, would I be correct in believing certain agents for a fee could make the bank account happen? thanks as always for sharing your videos.

    • @oneendofthailand
      @oneendofthailand  Před rokem +7

      Hello. Yes, an agent would sort this out for a fee. However, best to try yourself before you go paying an agent. I explained that I needed the account so I could apply for my retirement (long-term) visa. That had them thinking I was about to deposit a large amount and they gave me an account. I've been saving the green bills for the Hop on bus. So I've been paying double for about a month since arriving. So it's 25 cents instead of 50 cents? Maybe I save coins? I won't wait for a quarter change. It feels too cheap to me

      If you do not register a sim card with your passport, the law makes them cut the sim card off after 6 months.

      @Heath2027 NBTC changed the laws years ago. They had a grace period until July 31, 2017 at which time unregistered Sims could not make outgoing calls and data would not work. It affected Prepaid and Postpaid. I obviously used my passport to get a postpaid account in 2004 as I had a business here, but I still got a message to say bring your current passport to DTAC shop before that date or my service would be affected.

    • @oneendofthailand
      @oneendofthailand  Před rokem

      That won't apply to new sim cards. You mention 2004, that's 19 years ago.

      I am not sure on that but there will be stores that deliver in Pattaya. You can also get it delivered via Grab Food from the 7-Eleven.
