Why film on a Bicycle
Traditional video makers tend to walk, which unless great care is taken, produces a bounce in the video footage. I find filming on a motorbike can be too fast, not allowing you to take in the scenery. The bicycle allows me to interact with people whilst providing smooth footage. If you find it is still too fast, then you can slow the video speed down to half speed, which will still be 30 frames per second. Industry normal is 24/25 frames per second.
Why doesn’t the footage look clear
Sometimes I make an error when shooting the video (but very rarely) The most common cause is that your internet connection on YT has set the resolution to below 4K, so check your settings.
Camera Equipment
Since starting the channel I have used my trusty DJI Osmo Pocket 2 (Creator combo) I am now using the Pocket 3
The Combo comes with a Bluetooth microphone which has given great performance, even when riding at speed. I film at 4K & 60 frames per second, my light and ISO settings are on Auto. The Camera is strapped to my left wrist (so it might appear that I am close to things on the left). I control the Camera head via an application on my phone (Mimo), using my right hand Thumb.

Good video David. Always good to hear a fellow Scot on CZcams. I've been going to Thailand since the early 90's and met my wife out there mid-2000's. She moved over to Scotland with me a year ago, with a view to settling here (for a few years). We may eventually move back to Thailand when I retire. Jomtien looks interesting. I met my wife in Patong and as you know, Phuket has become too busy in the last few years, just like Pattaya. Jomtien and some other parts of Thailand like Songkla City, can offer a quieter experience and lifestyle for those who prefer that. I would be perfectly happy in Jomtien, from what I have seen in a vew videos. Keep up the interesting vids and who knows? Maybe bump into you in the future for a couple of cheeky ones. Many thanks for this excellent video on Jomtien. I like to see this town at night. Makes a nice change from your usual routes around Pattaya. It also shows that Jomtien is a quieter yet still a lively enough place to spend a night or two away from Pattaya. Please make this a regular trip every month or two. Have a good day.

Thanks for a nice look round the places many don’t show. Pratumnak Soi 5 has a great vibe and the new cocktail bar will be a great addition. The new Rhompo doesn’t seem to have taken off and I see KC up for sale already.
Was at Oregano restaurant (great Pizzas) the other evening and was surprised how busy some of the nearby bars were. Had a decent vibe and far more chilled.
On the whole Jomtien and Pratumnak has quietened down a lot the past couple of weeks but I’m sure it will pick up now on the run up to Songran.
That was awesome, great to see jomtien at night..i prefer jomtien personally..pattaya central only a baht bus away. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the trip around Jomtien an old stomping ground of mine for a couple of years. Lots more bars/restaurants now, used to be pretty quiet!

great video david your in pratumak will be staying around there in june .the only thing about bentleys they dont do roasts mainly burgers sandwiches and fish and chips pool table good in there .saloon bar is good and about under 100 baht for a chang bear so good and the girls in there not as pushy to buy drinks like in the cobra bar .only 75 days till im back in pattaya just booked my flight few days ago oman airways about £495 pounds so flight prices coming down at last hope to see u in pattaya in june keep up the good work mate👍.

Nice change up. I assume no baht bus on beach rd now it's 1 way. I'll be there middle of May for a month. I was looking to stay in Jomtien but road works did that in. Will be in LK Residence next to LK Metro instead. Hopefully that's central enough. 🤣🍺

I'm staying in jomtien from the 5th to the 17th of may staying at the atlantis condo resort after spending a week in buriram
1st time I was in Jomtien was 2001,there was hardly anything there,what a change,I think the last time i was there was 2005 or 2006,I use to sit on the beach from 9a.m. to 4p.m and then go back to Pattaya at ny Hotel on Soi 9,I looks really nice there now,must be a lot of ex-pats living there?

JomTien seems like the place you live as does Pratumnak but not as a monger.
This video was not a very good advert to attract mongers to JT. You said in Rompho Market " notice the difference between here and Pattaya?...battle over the music". My first answer was girls, there were 100 bars in the beer complex and 10 girls between the lot. Nice for a quiet drink but if you want a quiet drink you wouldn't go to those type of bars.
I like JT btw, never been for a night out on the town which is why I appreciate the video.
A question for people that know JT better than I: Are the girls 'nicer' in JT? As in more genuine, friendlier and less so 'all about the money' than Pattaya which is now very business like. 15 years ago the girls were very 'nice'.
Couldn't agree more. My 1st visit was Feb '07 and I noticed a change in attitude from 2012 onward. I don't think the Android phones have helpful either.

Never go in to Pattaya. Plenty of bars and company in Jomtien. Best time for going out from 10 pm, until 2AM and beyond. In my third week, and agree it is quieter. After Songkran finishes on 19 April I think the best company will go home until November, leaving freelancers and chancers (IMHO)

Hi, can’t actually find an email for you but I wanted to talk to see if you knew any nice rooftop bars where I can play pool table and have a nice view hopefully taking a decent Thai woman out there, so nothing to seedy please if you know what I mean
I dont know of any rooftop bars with pool tables. In jomtien you have DvAree Hotel and a few in Pattaya, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Siam@Siam etc but all just for drinks and music. This weeks video has a couple of Pattaya AirCon Pool bars on it.

4-5 years ago Rompho beer bar complex virtually closed it looked awful, now it's definitely bounced back to what it used to be like 6 years ago I'll have to have a night out down the old Rompho
