I agree! I loved that movie when I was a kid (mostly because I was just obsessed with Ancient Egypt, to the dismay of my super religious step-dad, but I digress lol). I watched it for the first time since childhood about a year ago, and liked it as much as I remembered! I'm not "religious," but I definitely got more out of it in a "spiritual" sense than I did as a kid, for whatever that's worth.
One of my favorite details is how Shen closes his eyes and accepts his death when the cannon starts to fall. In a twist of fate, it was the only moment in which he felt peace
I knew there was a specific reason for that moment

He already had realized the soothsayer was right and that he was on the wrong path. During the convo about letting his parents rest in piece it was all over his face. He knows he should stop but he's too far gone on his path. And he chooses to continue every chance he gets until he finds peace when he comes to terms with the fact that it's really over.
Shen is my favourite villain in this series because of his parallels to Po! Not only visually (Ying and Yang) but also their relationship to peace. Po is able to overcome the trauma of his parents being killed while Shen cannot get over the abandonment of his own parents, therefore, he's incredibly baffled when Po is! Also, I think he kept the Soothsayer around because he wasn't ready to let go of his parents yet. Can't believe how much I still love this series from my childhood 😭

Tigress grew up in an orphanage, feared by the ither children due to her species. She believed she was a monster, until Shifu came and taught her otherwise.

Kfp2 is my favorite in the series by FAR! Shen is in an incredible villain, Tigress and Po both get more development, it's so silly but also covers a lot of incredible themes and ideas, and the goat is amazing. I can't not laugh when she eats Shen's clothes, it's such a good bit.
Every time I watch this movie I cry like a baby. Just the thought of Po’s mother leaving him behind and then being murdered gets the waterworks going…… This is a fantastic movie! Very underrated imo

Gary Oldman did another crazy over the top character in Lord Ruber from Quest for Camalot (1998 Warner animated movie)
Its an okay movie with references to other Warner properties. but Gary Oldman's character is just so entertaining, his delivery with his characters facial expressions.

Gods, I love this movie so much - it's awesome!
Not 'awesome for a kids movie' but rather highly emotional at times, genuinely funny, doesn't shy away from killing, ...just awesome.
I also love the friendship dynamic between Tigress and Po because it would have been so easy to make her jealous or bitter in the sequels. (but I'm also glad they didn't go full romance)
I forgot how emotional it was. And I’m happy with their dynamic too
Y’all should watch the how to train your dragon trilogy, they’re truthfully great films

The transition at 30:28 was toooo good.
Backstories:
Monkey was a failing comedian.
Crain was a janitor for a military base.
Mantis, I think, was a thief for hire.
And the only two with sad backstories Viper and Tigress.
Viper was a daughter to a very venomous ruler and her fathers venom is what protected the village. Viper was born without fangs and her father became detached from her in disappointment of the future of the royal venom line. Viper found fun in ribbon dancing and tried making her father smile again (failed). A bandit with metal armor came to the village and when Vipers father bitten down on him his fangs shattered. In fear Viper fought and won against the bandits using her ribbons. In the end her father finally became proud and had faith that she could defend herself and the village.
Tigress, the saddest story, was an orphan who’s parents didn’t want her. In the orphanage, other orphans and guardians feared her because she wasn’t delicate and patient, and would end up hurting others either by anger or accident. Tigress would also terrify and scare away possible parents making then adopt others, leaving Tigress watch other children be chosen over her. The orphanage contacted Shi Foo to help. He came and taught her patience and delicacy with dominos. After many broken dominos and many fails she learned how to have a delicate touch and patience. Shi Foo, in part of the Jade Palace, ended up adopting her to raise her.

Wow not expecting you guys to react to the Kong Fu Panda moviea , like I myself was a big Kong fu panda fan since I was little. I remember watching the 1st movie and then the series that aired in Nickelodeon that it would pop up only at midnight I think. Its because of these movie I started to like animation too and I want to learn Kong fu from these movie lol
But overall I love that you guys reacted to this film and also one of my favorite films out of all the (KFP) 1 & 3 , The 2nd Movie I consider it to be the best out thoes movie and I can list the 4th one yet because I haven't watched it but until then Kong Fu Pand 2 is the best. 💙 Funny thing is I remember when I first watch the film all the way towards the end when it reveals that the Pandas lived and Po's fathers alive, I was crying in tears and the when it said THE END I said " What was like it can't end like that "!!?
When they announce the the 3rd film I was happy even as grown up I went to watch the film at theaters. 💙

2 things 1 reason none of the 5 are chosen is because they do their animal style of kungfu while po having watched them for year unconsciously use all 5 of their forms in what is known as dragon style which adapts to the situation adjusting the styles where tigress can only do tiger style same with the others and 2 its funny you used the Gary Oldman "EVERYONE!!!!" since then (the peacock) is voiced by Gary Oldman
