In this Dye Time, I hand paint a new to me, unusual plant based fibre; rose! I had some rose fibre that I decided to spin into yarn, then dye. Using a rose as inspiration, I tried to hand paint this yarn to look like a rose. Sort of! What do you think? This was a very interesting experience and the whole way through, I kept saying to myself "I can't believe this is made from roses!"
Fibre reactive dyes can be used on plant based fibre and animal based fibres. Acid dyes can only be used on animal based fibres.
