That Rhaenyra and Laenor kissing Strong image 😂
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed 😂
So I'm not the only one who was stuck on that pic 😂
😂😂😂
Has she done things properly then she in Laenor could have had an actual children
@@madambutterfly1997 By turning herself into a man?
Then afterwards Vaemond's family goes to Viserys to have Rhaenyra answer for this, and he decides to cut out all their tongues
Which only proved them right in the eyes of the realm
This is why you don't speak ill of any royal family, right or wrong.
@@latishabuckner8231Facts in real life Royals have had people killed for less
@@fenrir4446Vyserys had decreed long before that he would kill anyone who continues the gossip. They simply signed their own sentence then, going against the king’s word
@@hypatiakovalevskayasklodow9195 again this dracoian behaviour only fed the rumors as being right not a smart move
If you pay attention to that scene, you can see Rhaenyra slightly tilting her head at Daemon, giving him a sign to do it. And I like that version better because you can still see Rhaenyra's impact here but also the bond between her and Daemon. They can understand each other easily without even speaking, Matt Smith and Emma Darcy also portrayed their characters perfectly
They most certainly are not a “perfect” portrayal. Rhaenyra is nowhere near as ruthless, gluttonous, or arrogant as the book. You even see yourself here, Rhaenyra was the culprit behind Vaemind’s death, not Daemon. Daemon is both too violent and too illogical. He kills his wife in the most obvious way possible, flying to the Eerie on dragon back and she “just so happens to die in an accident” that everyone knows he did. But he DOESNT kill Laenor, who is the only thing stopping him from marrying Rhaenyra and jointly pressing their claims to the throne. The whole point of the Dance is that both Rhaenyra and Aegon suck as heirs because their dad was a weak willed King and both factions were grabbing power based on pretense. Both of them suck, both are arrogant and pushed into cruelty from the pressure of war. Aegon thinks he’s the heir cause he’s the oldest boy, Rhaenyra was chosen as heir but Viserys did nothing to solidify it other than just telling everyone once “hey back her claim over my sons”. These vicious, arrogant, spiteful characters are way too competent, diplomatic and temperate. The show has eradicated all nuance for why Aegon would be named heir over Rhaenyra and why people would support him other than sexism. Seriously, go ahead and try, name one reason other than sexism that any house other than the Hightowers would support Aegon over Rhaenyra? You can’t, there is no nuance or complexity. We never see Aegon have any positive interactions or traits, he’s just a psychopath. We never see Rhaenyra be cruel or spiteful, she’s well-spoken, pretty, diplomatic and kind. The only casualty so far of the build up to the dance is that one servant who had to die in Laenor’s place, which for all we know could’ve been an already dead body so no one got hurt to make Rhaenyra and Daemon look even better. It’s dumbed down and insulting how much the show changed the characters.
@@MT-iw6sl I need to read fire and blood
He is always looking at her within the series for her approval on actions
@@yerintaemYes that's why I put the blame of cheese and blood also on her. She didn't do it directly but certanly approved.
@@xCoatlicuex I don't blame her for that if she did, given what they did to her child , not to mention stealing her crown and throne and beginning the dance and even worse being the reason she lost her only daughter
The only change I dislike in the show is Princess Rhaenys's hair colour.
In the books, her hair was black on because her mother was a Baratheon (and Baratheon's seed is "strong").
This gives the Blacks a defense/answer for those who question the legitimacy of Rhaenyra's children with something like "maybe the Baratheon black hair gene skipped a generation."
Whereas in the show, there is nothing for Rhaenyra to prove that her children are also Laenor's biological children.
Isn't Rhaenyra's mother from House Arryn?? Emma Arryn?
@@Aegar_Targaryen The comment was talking about Rhaenys, Laenor's mother.
Because that wouldn't work in the show. Since they made the velaryons black. You might be able to excuse one kid looking full white, but all 3? It would be like that prison scene with Katt Williams lol
@bluffleaf First off, Valyrian blood has magic. So the writers have free range.
Second of all, both Laenor and Laena are half black, which would make their children only a quarter black. Just look at the old king Jaehaerys, whose mother was a Velaryon.
The third one is that the main key point of the ASOIAF/GoT plot is that the Baratheon seed is "strong".
They did it to reinforce the "upper family above everyone else" shadow of the Targaryen. Rhaenys is seen having the same look as the other Targaryen, so she doesn't stand out from them and is blended among the Targaryen
She just gave her pet a snack. Then when the rest of the family complained Vizzy T took their tongues.
And then, she became snack, lol
But if you’ve read Fire & Blood, you know it’s an in-universe history book of sorts, written by multiple unreliable sources. All of them having reason to skew events to make themselves or their side look better.
@@Papaty25Karma
Weird to fetishize tyrants like that.
@sudarshangopinathan5904 I've seen worse also I was joking. That's why I included the taking tongues part sorry I should have put a 🤣 made it more obvious.
"Every tongue that rises up against me shall fall"
TARGARYEN, Rhaenyra
Rhaerhae be shameless like that really. 😂
The biggest irony of the show is that the strong bastards never really seem to live up to being as strong as they father.
Auch 😂
Their dad wasn't even that strong, literally got called broken bones because Crispy Cole fucked him up so bad.
only one of her kids amounts to much so... Viserys got all the genes!
@@higharchbishopofteatasting6217 Funny thing they didn’t show that but showed Harwin beating him up, huh . . . Almost like they have a bias towards a certain faction instead of presenting both as neutral as possible . . .
@@MT-iw6slthe writers are gonna love killing Cole off. They’ve made it very clear they want Rhaenyras side to be perceived as the “good” side. Their actions literally resulted with two slaughtered little kids and another killing herself afterwards. At least rhaenyras kids didn’t get chopped up by regular ass people.
Well rhaenyra does become pet food in the end. So what goes what goes around comes around i guess
That’s not a win, her whole death is supposed to represent sexism.
It's okay to like a character. What's not okay is pretending that the character you like isn't a horrible person
'Rhae' fans need to get with the program.
@@user-nv2wt4hi8t - no one said she's perfect; however, she IS the heir named by the King.
@@carastone3473 I mean, THAT is undisputable. Question is how they deal with Criston Cole. His nickname became the "Kingmaker". And i didn't see him make anyone king. All i saw of that guy was an angsty guy bitter for being rejected.
@@stoifan91 agree 100%!
@@carastone3473 100% and that's not the issue. The issue is that her son's have no inheritance rights and she keeps killing or injuring everyone who tells that truth
Seems like he should have expected it when he publicly called the heir to the throne son’s bastards. In the book Laenor wasn’t black so it would have been more difficult to claim as an absolute true.
Yeah, but two light-haired and purple-eyed persons couldn't have dark-haired and dark-eyed sons... It is just as obvious as in the series. They might have not know genetics but people are not stupid.
@@giovana4121actually they could especially if they had genetics from before say like Baratheon genetics in them they can still inherit dark hair this happens with Targaryens all the time because of the inbreeding they don’t all get silver hair or purple eyes they have muddy blonde hair or just blond like alysanne and Alyssa or blue eyes or green and purple eyes it’s really complicated the Targaryen bloodline cause they have so many houses blood in them it’s really hard to identify what’s what.
But the children had brown hair and pug noses like the strongs and no features matching the velaryons
@@McherriCool cool cool, explain the noses and how their faces were shaped just like the strongs? Oh?
@@McherriThe have already mentioned how the children had the strong pug noses but as Alicent said "A son who dosen't look like his father is an accident but three are an insult" no one of Rhaenerya children looks like Leanor at all and all looked like Strongs.
Rhaenryra is way more evil in books. SHow try make her look better
Alicent was even worse in the books
I like how the show could conceivably be the truth that hasn't been filtered through misinformation and decades of misogynistic propaganda. It makes sense that a sexist society would exaggerate the evil done by both Rhaenyra and Alicent.
Its a shame because Rhaenara and Alicent had agency, they were very intelligent, cunning, had political acumen and were rutheless in their pursuit of power.
In the show they made them much weaker, beholden to the men for everything. If they added those aspects in HOTD it would have provided nuance and some exposure on those two amazing characters.
Instead we got old lady failed queen to have a beautiful and brave monent when she ruined Aegons corronation by killing all the commonfolk and letting all her enemies survive. Truly a girl boss with ultimate intelligence, thats why she left the greens alive; its all part of her master plan to become queen by usurping the throne when its Meraxes' time of the month, so she destroys kings landing in a fit of badassery.
Just to be clear I am not hating on the actresses.
I just think the deviations from the source material have been pointless and stupid, at least a good chunk of them like Rhaenys killing all those people but not harming any of the greens, raceswapping the Valyrions, those examples are off the top of my head. Theres so much more in the books that could have been adapted instead of those nonsensical scenes and elements.
As it relates to the video, Daemon cutting Vaemonds' head in half is shocking and shows off the valyrian steel swords cutting power.
Rhaenera feeding the corpse to Cyrax afterward would have been a great way to show how she interacts with her dragons and uses them to instill fear in her opponents, and her subjects.
Books are not written from an objective viewpoint, the narrators constantly spread lies
@@EddieM1994dunno their have been plenty of real viscious female rulers.
And for exactly this reason Rhaenyra lost. She thought she had every right to be on the iron throne but failed to realise that she'd destroyed another throne. She knew the reality of her children yet wanted them to be the rulers of Driftmark. Of course she would, she's their mother and like any mother she wanted her kids to be safe and happy. But her actions led to drifts and dishonor. So she deserved it.
Rhaenyra had every right to be on the throne. She was named in front of all the lords of the seven kingdoms
@@Chasingdreams25 She was named, yes. But she wasn't truthful and honest. She lied to her family and was willing to make a non-Valeryon the ruler of Driftmark and after her her son with Harwin was gonna rule the 7 kingdoms. She lost because of her lies and deceit.
@@toso69420 she "lost" because she was a woman in a patriarchal society... In the books, several nobles wanted to marry their daughters to the three: Jace, Luke and Joff (if it wasn't two of them were already betrothed to Laena's girls). The north and the vale had no problem swearing loyalty to Jace and he was described by EVERYONE as a great soon to be King. The only ones who cared about the rumors were the greens and their allies. Not Corlys nor Laenor nor the king cared. And Corlys was soo proud of Lucerys in the novel... Such a shame they'd rather burn it all instead of letting a woman rule
@@nanynba1638 imagine defending bastards 😂😂
@@eyoelsolomon263 I'm.... Are you alright?? Have you read any book in asoiaf??? People in the 21st century crying about bastardy in a fantasy/fictional setting are something else
whether u are team black or team green it is undeniable that vaemond was in the right, his familys castle and heritage is literally being stolen from his family by a bastard from another house, imagine if some kid pretended to be your long lost brother or something, had no actual ties to ur family but then was given your family home, youd be pretty pissed
Nope. Cos even if Lucerys was proven to be a bastard (which he wasn't), Vaemond would not be next in line. A daughter of a daughter is before a cousin or nephew. So Baela and Rhaena would be ahead of Corlys, and who was Rhaena's betrothed? Luke.
@@DraconimLt that still wouldnt make luke heir to driftmark, it would make him husband to the heir to driftmark. the fact of the matter is luke is a bastard, his entire family lie about his heritage so he can inherit a castle and they murder anyone who dares speak against them, team black are undeniably the bad guys.
@@v_cpt-phasma_v689 so? The point is, even IF Luke could be proven to not be legit (which he hasn't been), but even if he was, then Vaemond is STILL not the heir. Baela or Rhaena is. So Vaemond was still either mistaken or more likely lying.
Also, whoever the Lord, ie. Corlys, says is the heir, is the heir. Corlys says it's Luke, end of.
-
Fact is, even if they are bastards, which has not been proven, they are still next in line if the King/Lord says they are and if they have the relevant blood OR the Lord says they have. Even if they didn't, the whole point of the marriages between Jace/Baela and Luke/Rhaena was so that there was no doubt that one of the pairing at least had Velaryon blood.
It's basically adoption + legitimisation all in one, both of which are the King's right. He just doesn't need to do it if he says it isn't necessary.
No, both sides do bad things, but ar the start of the war, team Green are undeniably the bad guys. Ya know, the team that betrays their oaths, plots to try and remove the legal & named heir, plots to go against the King's will and wishes before his body is even cold, steal the throne and murder anyone who points out it is against the law or who remains true to their word.
Who spilled the first blood of the war huh? Justice for Lord Beesbury!
Justice for Lucerys!
What Rhaenyra did was even more evil. After Vaemond's dead, his family confronts Rhaenyra to answer for this, but Rhaenyra cut all of their tongues instead
people don't realize that rhaenyra is the villain. yes she was wronged and the world is cruel to women, but her actions throughout the dance are truly despicable and especially as the war progresses she gets worse.
She's not the villain. No one in this story is "The Villain" (accept maybe Otto). Everyone's character is grey in morals.
@@BleedingGrafitti good point, still in the entire dance she was at fault for most of it in my opinion
Get off Otto's dick, every hand serves themselves as well as the realm. If Rhae really didn't want that shit to be challenged she shouldn't have married Daemon and she sure as fuck shouldn't have pumped out 3 bastard boys straight
@@danielc.5260
The way I see it, the Dance was doomed to happen the moment Jaehaerys lost his two firstborn sons and then the rest of his children promptly died, were killed, committed elsewhere, or ran to essos to be whores. Tensions were brewing already by the time of the great council that named Viserys heir- the Sea Snake held that grudge for *decades.* (Fuck up ×1 for Corlys)
Then Aemma dies with no male son after 5-6 failed births before that. Viserys fucks up by not having taken a second wife way before this.
Otto fucks up by overreaching and sending Alicent to Viserys knowing he's emotionally vulnerable to this manipulation, all because he wants more power even though he's the fucking Hand at the time.
In the show, Viserys knows he's dying and doesn't know how fast, so marrying Laena who can't have children for years is a bad idea. Viserys fuckes up- he marries for companionship, destroying his relationship with his daughter, giving Otto power, and passing over all of the other eligible women in the kingdoms that could've secured new alliances.
Then Daemon fucks up any chance of the throne passing to him by being an asshole for most of his life.
Rhaenyra fucks up by almost sleeping with Daemon, and then actually sleeping with Cole, who tells Alicent and fully breaks that friendship. (Fuck ups 1 & 2)
Rhaenyra fucks up (×3) her chance of being supported by more lords by having bastards (though part of this issue also lies in both Corlys, Rhaenys, and Viserys marrying her to a gay man, of which at least 2 of them knew, so the odds of her having true born children were exponentially low anyways, so let's say Viserys fucks up ×2 and Corlys and Rhaenys fuck up ×1).
Viserys fucked up (×3) by not marrying Rhaenyra to Aegon the moment he was born, though I understand he wanted to preserve his relationship with his daughter. Alternatively, this slight could've sent Rhaenyra running to Daemon for marriage without consent, which would've just started the war before the king even died.
Viserys fucks up (×4) by not being a present father to his children by Alicent, leaving Alicent and Otto to raise them to hate Rhaenyra and her children instead of imparting the love that Viserys should have that could've tied the branches together. Otto and Alicent fuck up (×2 and ×1 respectively) by raising the kids this way in regards to Rhaenyras kids.
Alicent fucked up (×2) by not marrying her daughter Helena to Rhaenyra's daughter Jacerys, which also would've tied the branches, but I see why she didn't as they were plainly bastards, and this could've caused a war between the whole Targaryen family and the rest of the lords in the kingdoms (similar to Robert Baratheons war, though Robert's was for different reasons that the legitimacy of the heirs).
Somewhere in their Daemon also fucks up more times. Kills his wife in the veil (×2 fuck up) as this alienates the Vale from taking Rhaenyra's side. Takes Rhaenyra to a public brothel and sullied her virginity, which isn't important nowadays but was huge in-universe (fuck up ×3) because this ensures that Rhaenyra's reputation is bad even going into the marriage with Laenor.
Alicent fucks up (×3) for crowning Aegon without first convening with Rhaenyra to see if this can be settled without bringing them even closer to war, even though she herself refuses to supplant Rhaenyra in the way the rest of the small council did (with blood and such). Otto additionally fucks up for planning to violently supplant Rhaenyra for years with many other high lords.
Rhaenys fucks up (×2) by not killing all the greens at the first opportunity, and then allying with the blacks anyways and taking direct part in the war
Aemond fucks up by killing Lucerys.
So to tally the score we get:
Inciting Incidents: Jaehaerys' heirs dying, and Aemmas infertility/inability to carry to term a living child
Viserys: 5 major Fuck Ups (4 if we don't count marrying Rhaenyra to Laenor, assuming he did not know Laenor was gay despite the relatively open secret)
Corlys: 2 Major Fuck Ups
Otto: 3 Major Fuck Ups (being lenient because he's not really a main character for a large part of the show, and only a subtle manipulator. Could be higher than this if you consider other factors.
Daemon: 3 Major Fuck Ups (also being lenient because you could separate out all the general asshole fuckups from his time at the beginning of the show up until he sullies Rhaenyra and kills his wife)
Rhaenyra: 3 Major Fuck Ups (4 if you count her complicitness in the excursion with Daemon- I'm hesitant to because she's like 14 but I can see why someone would count it)
Rhaenys: 2 Major Fuck Ups
Alicent: 3 Major Fuck Ups (Being somewhat lenient)
Aemond: 1 Major Fuck Up (Maybe 2 if you count the slight against Baela for taking Vhagar rather than any other unclaimed dragon anywhere else- Vermithor, Silverwing, Tessarion, the 3 strays consisting of the Cannibal, Sheepstealer, and Grey Ghost, as well as unclaimed Seasmoke, or a younger dragon that had been more freshly hatched and went unnamed, of which we hear there are at least a few of varying ages that eventually bond with younger Targaryens. Vermithor and Silverwing belonged to King Jaehaerys and his wife Allysanne, Tessarion to one of their daughters, and Sheepstealer and Cannibal were also very large. All of them larger than Seasmoke would've been at the time, and also with long dead riders or no riders over whom no one would take any slights. Grey Ghost was smaller than Syrax but also fair sized as well. Out of the two dragons that were fairly off limits, he chose the worst one- Vhagar. Seasmoke might also have been an affront but to a lesser degree as Laenors "sons" had dragons already but one of Laena's daughters who expected Vhagar did not. Also, as Laenor isn't actually dead we don't know how claiming Seasmoke would've gone).
Anyways, I'm not saying a single less fuck up would've changed things, but if a handful of these fuck ups had not happened the war mightve been avoided, or at least been less bloody or have killed no dragons (like in the event of both branches of Targaryens vs other Westerosi lords). Everyone had a fairly major hand in this, even characters that aren't really important, like the Kingsguard and the Baratheon lord who allowed Aemond to follow Lucerys into the storm where he would be killed, and all of the long dead heirs of Jaehaerys, that would've set the realm far off this course to begin with had even one of them lived and ruled halfway competently.

@@AniSwiftTVRecaps vaemond is Corlys brother on show. But it doesn't matter Baela and Rhaena are Targaryen because they are still daughters of Laena . Corlys is the lord, succession put Laenor first but he is dead so his legitimate children come next. Even though they aren't his he recognised them so they are next. After that is Laena, but she is dead so Baela and then Rhaena. And only then when there is no more of Corlys legitimate descents . Vaemon can have drifmark.
@@katherine3032 no that is not how it works, when someone is married to another family they take the name of said family and drop there own.
So laena nor her children have no claim to drift mark until all other claimants are dead, so if corlys was to due then it would go to his son, if his son dies or he doesn't have any sons then it would skip over his sister because she is now a targ plus a woman at that and pass to the next valaryon who would be vaemon then his kids, if there are no other valaryions left then and only them do they begin looking for other claimants with close blood ties to the valaryons like laena and her daughters. Though it's a last resort especially because they're women.
Funfact this is how Robert was decided to be king, because all the targs were dead or in exile they looked at the family tree and saw that Robert is a close cousin of rhagar so he was a good choice for king, without this blood tie the realm would have probly gone to war again because the faith would reject him so there would be like 20 lords tryna make themselves king in his place. Good thing the lannisters didn't marry much targs or tywin could have claimed ...
I hope we get to see more of villain Rhaenyra in the new season
Honestly I like how the books tell you different POV so the books aren't trusted fully

A few seconds later
Says Daemon beheaded Vaemond
this time it was under her orders
He did not unless if you are saying daemon is the royal executioner? In GOT did cersi kill Ned Stark? No pain the executioner did, maybe comprehension is hard for you but arresting and executing are two different things, daemon arrested him.

That's why you don't speak ill of the children of the princess in an absolute monarch, especially when the king and the two men whose lineage is at question considered the children as legitimate.
And the rebellion that began the downfall of the dynasty is why you don’t ignore the issue of the heirs being bastards

To be fair between the terrible things we know actually happend in the book (so no Mushroom) Rhaenyra and most of the Blacks still look better than the Greens and that is despite the Maesters prefering Aegon.
As they should
@@TemariNaraannaschatz that doesnt mean remove every bad thing fone by her
@@mum-your Rhaenyra still is plenty terrible, Alicent is far nicer than her.
Don't get me wrong, she isn't as much of a spoiled brat as her book counterpart, but unlike in the book where Alicent demands Lukes eye first and then Rhaenyra asked for Aemond to be tortured here Rhaenyra asks for her own little brother to be tortured first, while ignoring he lost his eye and doesn't even ask what happend.
She sleeps with Criston, lies to Alicent about being a maiden, has a servant killed so that Laenor can run away, ignored her father for years and when he was dying from his illness he had for over a decade she blamed Alicent for it, she is still acting like a spoiled brat anytime her betrothals come up and insults noble Houses,
She does plent terrible things, but Rhaenyra stans tend to excuse them. Same as Alicent stans tend to excuse her terrible things.
For me the issue of having some characters be the tame reaslistic version at the beginning wouldn't be an issue if they didn't make Aegon and Daemon worse then their book counterparts. They picked and decided who should get the worst parts and who should only get the best and that sucks. But Rhaenyra is still a spoiled brat.
And of course with F&B you'll always need to account that Mushroom is a terrible source with how often he claims to know about things when he wasn't even in the same place where it happend.
I mean they partly have to choose a side, the book leaves things intentionally vague, but when it’s this sort of media you have to officially decide things. For example you can’t keep it unclear who is and isn’t a bastard like in the book, since you’d very clearly see the physical traits, so they have to make a decision either way and stick with it.
Unrelated, he had such a cool name! Vaemond 🔥
People act like Rhaenyra gets a pass but they all know that a bastard inheriting the throne is bs considering the deal they made with the velaryons
In the books they're white
So? George gave those actors the go-ahead
@@ezrafriesner8370There is no evidence that he did. Imagine if he had actually not, the case would've been worse than J.K. Rowling with "trans-women". And you personally would've been all for it.
@@_antillas8674 he had an active role in the creative process, and was under no obligation to give approval, if he didn’t, he would have said so. He had no problem criticising mistakes before, he would do so now if he thought there were any. Also what’s this about JK Rowling? She just doesn’t want trans people to exist full stop, it’s not even a debate
@@ezrafriesner8370 Exactly. The main executive producers (there are like seven of them or more, and GRRM is only one of them), Condal and Sapochnik, didn't hesitate to admit that they (not GRRM) wanted black characters in the show for political reasons. That same Condal has stated that he didn't always do the thing GRRM wanted him to.
As you can see, it is obvious that even if Martin did voice his disapproval (we'll never know for sure) of the Velaryons' skin color, of Rhaenys's hair color, or pretty much anything else, the producers and the directors rejected it. And since we don't have any evidence that GRRM approved of it, either, you cannot claim that he "gave those actors the go-ahead".
And regarding your question about the J.K. Rowling case, you got it dead wrong. She essentially said that trans-women aren't women, and trans-men aren't men, which is basic facts. She's never said anything even remotely resembling "trans-people shouldn't exist". Now, imagine if GRRM had dared to say that the Velaryons should have been pale-skinned, like he wrote them to be in the books. The woke crowd would have torn him apart. And, just like I said, you personally would have been right there for it.

This is a parallel set up on purpose. It is supposed to directly contrast with Rhaenyra saying the Iron Throne is hers by rights. She is simultaneously making a mockery of the driftwood throne which is, in fact, hypocritical.
The fact that reahneyra’childrens are bastard.
Isn't that the whole plot of the story?
Technically since she is a targaeryan, and heir it shouldn't matter as much, because she is their mother. Unlike most male sired targaeryan bastards who get cast aside by both mother and father.
@@Alissa_Marie um babe it does matter because they are not legit. If Rhaenyra children can a claim on a throne then every other bastard child should and is able to claim the throne as well. Just because she is the heir does not mean that she has the luxury to say that her children have more a right or an equal right to something that they technically have no ties with.
@@jksperson7745 she is the named heir and we see that power displayed here and as queen she would have the power to silence anyone who would claim her children as bastards and from what I’ve seen being a bastard and inheriting title and or lands is kinda a grey area, although it’s many years in the future we see cerci have all of Roberts bastards killed for fear of them taking the throne also Daenerys legitimizing gendry as a Baratheon and naming him lord of storms end
@@tylerwatson7525ok there is alot of misinformation here so lets do this in steps.
1) no bastard can inherit anything from any of there parents because they are illegitimate and the only way to change that is by putting in paper work to there liege lord or king to make said bastard legitimized.
2) the reason why rha cant do this is because to legitimize her bastards she must first out them for being bastards which would instantly make her an enemy of her strongest allies the valaryons for cuckhoding there son.
3) no rhanara does not have the power to put a known bastard on the throne because literally no lord would support that and they would rebel against her children because of the beliefs about bastards.
4) cersie had to kill roberts bastards because her child had non of his blood so she was trying to prevent people from finding one of roberts bastards and naming them king in jofferies place, since while a descendant of robert still lives her bastard can never sit safe on the throne, infact we see it in the books, robert dies and since joffery is a bastard stannis and renly pushes there claim, if stannis dies then he ordered his daughter to push her claim. Then theres edric storm and miya stone 2 known bastards of robert who are safe.
I didn't understand why Rhaenyra's first three sons have brown hair but Viserys and Alicent's children have white hair. Is it because Viserys is male and Rhaenyra is female? but how about Jon Snow having black hair even his father is a Targaryen with white hair?
In the books, alicent had silver hair and was said to look like princess saera by king jahaerys. The hightowers had canonically had silver or pale gold hair with great beauty like the valyrians without actually having any connections to valyria. Margaery's mother also had silver hair, lynesse hightower was said to look like danaerys and baelor brightsmile got that moniker cause of how beautiful he was.
The valyrian genes are quite weak and don't show up strongly if one of the parents are non-valyrian, that's why they have to intermarry so much, cause otherwise the silver hair and purple eyes will soon fade away.
WE still can't be 100% sure that Jon is Targaryen because books are not finished
Also, in the books, Rhaenys had black hair! I wish they kept that for the show
@@queenxx1690The thing with that is it’s confirmed who the real father of Jon snow is. There’s a story that back before GOT the D&D brothers had to answer a question with George RR Martin to get the green light for GOT to even get the green light for the show. The question he gave them was “Who is Jon’s true father” (somewhere along those lines). It is said they answered correctly and George thus gave them the opportunity to do the show (GOT). You are right we can’t be 100% sure Jon’s father is Rhaegar but theoretically if the brother got the answer right then wouldn’t they also add that truth to the show? ( im talking about when they revealed Lyanna was Jon’s mother and Rhaegar escaped with her while she left Robert blue-balled at KL).
Within the show-only canon, Targs are almost always only born with silver hair if they are “pure” Valrians, aka the Targs and the Velyerons. But Rhaenyra’s first three boys are indeed bastards- their father is Harwin Strong (who had black hair). Now, it is a little confusing, bc Viserys remarried Alicent (brunette), but all their children, Aegon the 2nd, Aemond, Helaena, and Daeron (not seen in the show yet) all have silver hair, as do Aegon and Helaena’s children. I think the show made this creative choice to emphasize Rhaenyra’s selfishness in taking a secret lover and not suffering the consequences- despite how obvious it was. It serves to make her not a wholly good character, and to lend sympathy to Alicent and the other greens.
But in the books, it’s different. Rhaenys “the queen who never was” actually had black hair, bc she was closely related to the Baratheons. And there were other, more realistic differences as well. The show simplified it, partly to help audience members keep family ties more clear, and to add dimension to certain characters.
According to a jester and fool who shouldn't be fully trusted
But if you’ve read Fire & Blood, you know it’s an in-universe history book of sorts, written by multiple unreliable sources. All of them having reason to skew events to make themselves or their side look better.
Sounds like you can’t handle any criticism of rhaenyra when she does bad things. No one contested different accounts of what happened here. Rhaenyra commanded daemon to take vaemond’s head and so he did.
Fax i guess vaemon fed himself to her dragon after he kllled himself too
So vaemond was killed on whose ordeew and by whom?
Are you dumb? Do you really think Vaemond would take his head off and feed himself to Rhaenyra's dragon later? Rhaenyra defenders are annoying
Hoenyra is a bad person, her stans can’t accept it and will defend all of her awful behavior
I need to read the books!!
I like the show version better just because of the unscripted part where Viserys’ crown fell. And Daemon returns it. That whole scene was fire.
Everyone always up Rhaes cooch about who the father of her kids really is. When literally they have Laenors acknowledgment/last name, Viserys and Corlys also both recogonize them as true-born sons, and heirs to the Iron Throne/Driftmark. It seriously does not matter what anyone else thinks they know about Luke, Jace and Joffreys "real" dad. When a person in Westerosi culture says "these are my legitimate children and heirs" thats the end. The only difference between Robert and Laenors situations being that Robert didnt know(or wouldn't admit it to himself.) And if he did would have immediately kicked Cersei and those kids to the curb. Laenor ^does^ know, he doesn't have to say "hey y'all are right but thats ok cause I recognize them as my legitimate sons." Cause he ^already^ did that 😂
But it does matter. A bastard that is falsely acknowledged as trueborn (even by someone as high up the ladder as the king) is still a bastard.
@hornysanders6244 If the kids are "legitimized" it really doesn't matter. And those kids are, for all intents and purposes, the legitimate heirs of Laenor and Rhaenyra. He accepted them as his children, Corlys and Viserys accepted them as their grandchildren. Who their "real" dad is, is literally only conjecture on the part of Alicent and the greens. They have no ^actual^ proof(beyond what their eyes tell them but 🤷🏻♀️) that Rhae and Laenor didn't have kids together. Or even that Harwin is the father.
