- In this video, we will go over installing and tuning the HMF Optimizer. The HMF Fuel Optimizer is a piggyback fuel controller that is designed to regulate fuel settings for added aftermarket exhausts.
The HMF Optimizer comes preprogrammed with the proper fuel settings for an HMF exhaust system. Tuning is not typically required unless more performance-enhancing products were added to the machine.
DO NOT USE the settings in this video for your machine. They are simply displayed for example.

You guys should really show where exactly the fuel injectors are on specific models, hardest part is trying to find where they are
We would like to, but we don't have access to all the machines we've worked on in the past. This Optimizer video is designed to be a general guide. Most of the manufacturers have specs on the internet of where their fuel injector is located.
If u cant find the fuel injector(s) on your machine, I don't recommend you install this tuner yourself, no disrespect.

does the fuel optimizer come with a full system exhaust or should it be bought separately?
The HMF Fuel Optimizer is sold separately from the exhaust system.
Will I have to tweak the settings if I also add a K&N air filter with my exhaust on an Outlander 450?
On a machine such as an Outlander 450 a change in air filter to a K&N, or other aftermarket filter, changes to the HMF Optimizer's pre-programmed tune are not typically required.

I have a 2013 raptor 700 with hmf exhaust and optimizer . How do I reset the mode to when I originally hooked it up.?
I messed with the modes and I’m not to familiar with it. I don’t want to ruin my bike or motor if that’s possible. Thanks
There is no reset button on the Optimizer itself. If you'd like to load the settings back to the original, visit the link below and select your year, make, and model. The settings displayed will be the settings for your 2013 Yamaha Raptor 700.

I just installed hmf slip on and fuel optimizer.
Works well,sounds great. But i lost about 60km per tank of fuel. That doesn't seem right

i bought a titan that came with an optimizer for my 2017 1000r. I added a quiet core to it. Should I make any adjustment to the optimizer?

Hey Great video but I have a question so I have a 08 Honda trx 700xx and I have the big gun exhaust but I don’t have a fuel optimizer
I tried find the big gun fuel optimizers i found one but I couldn’t buy cause it didn’t meet California laws
Will this hmf work for my quad even though I have the big gun exhaust?
This Fuel Controller will work with any exhaust, but the fuel settings preprogrammed on the Optimizer are for HMF exhausts. You may have to tweak your Optimizer settings... or just get an HMF exhaust ;)

Do i have to change the stock settings if i have a full hmf exhaust along with an aftermarket air intake on a raptor 700?
When you mention "stock settings", are you referring to the stock settings of our HMF Optimizer, or the stock settings of your vehicle?
If you install an HMF exhaust on the Raptor 700, a new fuel tuner or settings are required.

If you already have an HMF exhaust with the HMF optimizer preprogrammed for your Raptor 700, then you may need to tweak the settings for the aftermarket air intake.
@@HMFExhausts I was referring to the stock settings of the optimizer. I found on yalls website that mode 2 and 3 have to be switched to 4.0 and 3.0 if an air intake is installed so it’s taken care of but thanks for taking the time to reply👍🏻

@@theofficialk.a.m...p4760 The fuel optimizer changes the air/fuel settings on the bike to keep it from running too rich or too lean because putting on a new exhaust will change the air/fuel ratio. If you ordered the HMF optimizer and all you're doing is adding an aftermarket HMF exhaust and not an air intake then you can just throw it on with the exhaust and be done cuz it's already preprogrammed to work with it
Yea I got a 2021 yfz hmf comp slip on hmf fuel optimization and ais delete and speed sensor delete and gytr intake I talk to Brian at hmf he said the tunner has to be tweaked when installing a intake

@@HMFExhaustswith the key on 1 & 8 blink green, idle 1 & 2 stay solid green. It was shipped with a hmf slip on and a pro design flange was put on with k&n filter with out wear air box lid on... i just dint wanna monkey with it if its set where it should be...

That is correct. The Optimizer is set for a Stock Air Box Lid removed on the 2020 Raptor 700

Yes go to hmf web site. It's really easy once you select your year and model it tells you the number for each setting

Your YFZ will need a Fuel Controller to manage the air-fuel ratio. The HMF Optimizer will come preprogrammed for your vehicle.
Yeah I have an hmf performance optimizer I think it might be the same one as shown on the video but this one has like flames on it is that just an older version

That is correct. The HMF Optimizer is a plug-and-play controller, setup to work specifically with your machine and exhaust.

I have a 2016 raptor 700. It looses power in the mid throttle range but then gains it back when I pin the the throttle. I don’t know what the problem is
That's strange, can you confirm your Optimizer Settings. If the Optimizer is set correctly, please verify the Optimizer mode and slightly add or subtract fuel and recheck for performance gains.

Mode 2: Amber: 3.5
Mode 3: Red: 2.0
Mode 4: Green/Blue: 3.0

@@Calii8708 Those are the fuel settings for the HMF Fuel Optimizer for a 2022 Raptor 700R. As stated in the video, there are 6 modes to change the settings and the settings provided are for an HMF exhaust on a 22 Raptor. Did you mean something else when asking "What mode to put it on?"

You need to make sure you set the settings to what we recommend. Setting all of the modes to the lowest setting is going to cause issues. Visit hmfracing.com/tech for more information and your specific settings.

Bought a bike with this on it. Looked on your website and it doesn't list my machine. Contacted hmf and they said they cant help me and im screwed. Guess ill take that hmf off and trash it. Fmf here i come.
Had my hmf optimizer installed at the dealership when I bought my 21’ Yamaha Raptor 700R SE the check engine light turns on at high rpm’s only was wondering what that might be if you guys could get back to me please kinda worried something might happen

Yeah had mine on about a year the check engine light stays on took it to the dealer hooked it up to computer turns out the optimizer is junk. Emailed hmf got no reply. Better off buying a EHS tuner
