Thank you for this video i just put everything on today and i am going to try and go for a ride tomorrow to test everything out. Very helpful content and my set up is the exact same as yours stock box stock header pipe and just slip on exhaust on my 2020. It’s been stock till now haha 😅
Ok great! Enjoy.
Hey buddy love the vids! Curious if you settled on final adjustments. Just installed optimizer, competition elliptical slip on, and gytr filter. Any recommendations with lid off?
Thanks man! I've never run mine with the lid off but it seems be pretty happy with all three levels on 5. I had level one on 4 and it was a little too lean. and I was getting a backfire on the down revs.
@@FunGoingFast I haven’t tried changing settings yet but did you change 4 5 and 6 settings to 5 as well?
@@stevesworld897 For whatever reason the manual says not to change 4, 5 and 6 for what thats worth so I never messed with those.
Hey man what settings are you currently using and how's it running?
I sold the YFZ but when I sold it, I still had it the same as that video. I think 4 on the first, then 5 on the next two settings.. On the HMF Factory recommendations it was too lean and was backfiring on the down rev. I got rid of that. But I never did quite smooth out the first quarter throttle. There was a slight hesitation. Not sure if you are experiencing that
@@FunGoingFast yea I'm having issues with the backfiring. I bumped up mode 1 and 2 and it's still there a bit but better then the settings it came with. Appreciate the reply
@@yfz450Venomstill having issues? I have a 2023 doing the same, little backfires on de-cel, but only sometimes.
Does anyone know if the battery is disconnected does the tuner reset
It does not. I bought a used one and it still had the sertings from the previous owner.
Does your header pipe get red at nigth ?
Ive never ridden at night. But i have owned 4 YFZs from 2003 to this one and everyone of them get super hot header pipes for some reason.
Mine gets red in about 3 minutes at idle yes. I wondered if it was starving for air cuz when you get on the throttle it actually cools the pipe. But from what I’ve seen, it’s normal for these machines
So do you have all the setting set
To 5
Yes but I've never been able to smooth out the hiccups jumping from low throttle to at least 1/2 or more without rolling on it.
Vortex all the way, not even a competition or choice
$900 for a used one lol
You are running red light too rich
These do not work with the 2014+ yfz450r. You need a vortex ecu as the 14+ ecu has emissions hard coded in. If you're 09-13 they work great.
Ok. Interesting. Would be helpful if the HMF website showed that. I was able to lean or make it richer, but never got it to run to my liking.
Where did you hear that? HMF says they work? I'm gonna contact them in the morning!
@Scott Adair from top YFZ builders like Mark Notman, combined with the fact I've owned both 14+ yfz and 09-13 models. They say it works because it technically does (which is a massive misinformation spread), but it will never fix the bog issues no matter what you do. Believe me, we've all tried. You can use an 09-13 ecu on a newer model and use the tuner and it will work
@@aray493 I'm riding my 2020 with a HMF slip on, and the controller, I have no bog issues but seem to be always lean, which would be true if you are right about it being coded, not saying your wrong, just hoping you are wrong lmao...bit pissed cuz not spending a grand on the aftermarket ECU's
I also have a 2008 450se, but it's carbed with R&D accelerator power pump fuel bowl that got rid of the bog issue with the carbed model...it's just as fast as the EFI quad
@@aray493 I will look for an older ECU.
the vortex ecu works much better than those
It does your right but if you want just a slip on those good fir that
For
My setup is hmf comp slip on and gytr intake and ais delete and speed sensor and hmf fuel optimization
@@yfz_dom very cool
@@jodybruce5097 what you run
Spent all my work money just own a yfz now I can’t buy a exhaust 🥲🥲
Haha. I get it!
