I am NO fan of Skip by any means, but context is important, and if you don't read the entirety of the tweet, you can't comprehend what exactly he was referring to as "irrelevant", and if you cherry pick, it's easy to make it look like he was calling Hamlin's situation "irrelevant", but I honestly don't think that's what he meant given how hard he's stood by it.
Granted, he REALLY needs to do a breakdown of his words what he specifically meant by them, line by line and then in full context, so he's not exactly helping himself, but still.

I have to try and warp those paragraphs so they meant “FU, Demar Hamlin.” When the internet decides, “This is the thing we care about, right now!” Going against the expected narrative of “Thoughts and prayers,” and showing all the support you can, angers people. Then it also happened to be Skip, and he seems to anger a lot of people just sitting there, existing.

Once the dude was in the hospital, there’s nothing else you and I can do. It’s okay to ask what the league is gonna do about the rest of the game. Skip was just being curious.

You can tell when someone never played the game before on any level. When you have a fallen comrade during the course of the game regardless if he’s your teammate or not it’s impossible for you to continue playing because your mind isn’t focused on the game anymore. And when you’re not focused on your assignments, that leads to more injuries. Construction workers, soldiers none of that has anything to do with playing one of the most physical sports in the world.

I've never been a fan of the show because the two of them just tried to make a living giving over the top "hit takes". But, Skip was absolutely disrespectful to Shannon and showed how shallow he was choosing to give hit takes at the expense of someone that was his partner. It's fine for him to stand by his tweet. But, you can be respectful of your partner in disagreement.
Skip Bayless and I are both Cowboys fans, but he is very disrespectful towards Shannon.
As much as I don’t like Skip, I still believe to this day that people overreacted and misinterpreted Skip’s tweet about the Damar Hamlin situation. To a certain extent, I think Shannon used the backlash that Skip got to position himself in a way to make Skip look even worse.
They are literally best friends they were crying on the last show together. Sometimes after doing something for a while it’s time to move on. Shannon enjoys his podcast and he probably wants to do something more centered around him. It’s hard to think of Skip as a racist because he’s helped Blacks in the past, but his help was necessary for his credibility. Eyes wide open you can see Skip for what he truly is.
