Its easy to see once you accept that. Sometimes they are skilled and marketable. That's when we get decent players.

I'm sorry to tell you, the Dallas Cowboys may never win another Super Bowl in your lifetime. They have the Browns curse. In 1963, The Browns fired the best coach in Football at the time, Paul Brown, because Art Model let his EGO get in the way of winning. They won another championship in 64 without Paul, but with Paul's team, and that was it. In 1994, the Dallas Cowboys fired the best coach in Football at the time, Jimmy Johnson, because Jerry Jones let his EGO get in the way of winning. They won another Super Bowl in 95 without Jimmy, but with mostly Jimmy's team, and that was it. As a lifelong Browns fan I have to tell you, you might have a long wait.

2001 Raiders. Lost the tuck rule and traded Gruden to the Bucs and that following season faced him in the Super Bowl.. only 2 playoff appearances since that 2002 season

I would argue the salary cap coming in the mid 90's and Free Agency is what killed the Cowboys because now Jerry couldn't bully the rest of the NFL with his big checkbook. The ONLY reason the Cowboys were any good prior to that, is because they just bought all their championships. As soon as the playing field was leveled with the cap, Jerry showed how terrible he is as a GM
I am confused... How can Dak Prescott argue he should get a bigger contract then Jared Goff? Goff has played in a Super Bowl AND a NFC Championship game almost winning both? Dak has done neither...

End of the day, Jones sees how much money the team makes and equates that to success on some level. While he certainly cares about titles, he sees all that cash and thinks he must be doing something right
Probably all of the above, cause let's be real, it takes a certain degree of ego and selfishness to still be owner, president, and GM at the ripe old age of 81 years old. Many other men at that age would have been content to retire and let the younger generation run things, but not Jones.

I've been a Cowboys fan since 77. I'm glad I watched them win four championships. I don't see them winning another one as long as JJ and his son run the team. Almost 30 years of not getting close to the NFC Championship proves it.

That used to be Jerry's biggest mistake is paying fortunes to free agents for them to sign in Dallas. Maybe in the last 5-10 years did they stop that.

To be honest paying Dak 60mill over 52.5mill isn’t much that’s at most 2 players to a one year prove it deal. I’m a big advocate of the fact that the better players you have the better you have to be at free agency and the draft because of how much more you’d have to pay your top guys. If they hit on an extra guys in the draft that would make up for the contracts they have to pay.
Dak said publicly here on local television news that he’s not wanting more money. He said that it more important to secure Parsons and Lamb and other key players. He said that He’s been paid and now he just wants to win. So we just have to worry about keeping Parsons and Lamb happy.

I am 45 years old and have been a Cowboys fan all my life. I went to my first game at Texas Stadium on Thanksgiving Day in 1983 and have been to many games since….but I have never been to a Cowboys game at Jerry’s World and I won’t until Jerry Jones is officially a corpse!! That man has Wasted more talent than I can even remember…over Greed and Pride…from coaches, to players, to valuable draft picks!! The only reason they have gotten slightly better in drafts over the last decade or so, is because Jerry allowed Stephen to actually have Some decision making responsibilities!! Horribly sad….True Fans don’t give two craps how much your precious franchise is worth!! Win Championships…. And the rest takes care of Itself!! What’s worse for the Cowboys, is that even if they went with Belichick as the next head coach, that wouldn’t work out either. Belichick has required two key people to be on his side for success: Bill Parcells and Tom Brady. Other than that, Belichick’s career isn’t that good. Plus, Bill would want the similar kind of control that he had in New England, which I just don’t see Jerry Jones being willing to give up. Bill would need a powerhouse GM like Nick Caserio to draft effectively for him. Unfortunately, Nick is about 4 hours down the road in Houston, and doesn’t look to be moving any time soon.

Cowboys' last great chance was when Dak was a rookie. Their offensive line that year was REALLY good, and they had a great running game as well. When Dak dropped back to pass that year, he had all day to throw the ball, especially on play action. Not to mention the fact he could run. I think they got screwed on the call saying Dez Bryant dropped that pass in Green Bay. And I am no fan of Green Bay as a Viking fan, and was rooting for the Cowboys in that game. Since then, they could never quite put all the pieces together especially in December and January. They had great chances when the NFC East was weak. Not so much the case now, and Detroit and SF are tough to beat. But this is the NFL. You never know when a team will surge for one year. Dallas will be interesting to watch.
Jerry Jones is his own worst enemy. I don't understand why he hasn't learned his lesson of just be the owner and stay out of the way. I know his ego won't let him do that, but it was Jimmy Johnson who setup that team for the early 90s run of Super Bowls trophies. I should know being a 49er fan and having to see the Niners lose in the NFC championship game to the boys 2 out of 3 years. The Cowboys won't be good until Jerry isn't running the team.
