Hi! Former competitive soccer player here (played for the #1 club in my state for 7 years) 😁 we had several girls that could do this trick but none were allowed to do so in games or scrimmages or practice. It eventually became a club-wide ban because of how dangerous it is. Y'all know how slick those balls can get from the dew on the grass? There's a reason most goal keepers spit on their gloves! Nothing about that is safe and it is all too easy to slip and crack your neck. If you have years of gymnastics training under your belt it might be different but for the average player, I would never ever suggest attempting this move.
Enough with the safety nanny garbage, once you start down that path, you end up with a game where there are no penalties, no scoring, and no losers, everybody wins and gets a participation trophy. @@Winteriscoming... as a soccer referee- not legal, her feet came off the ground before the ball was released from her hands. this would result in a throw in for the other team at that spot.
by that logic, most throw ins would be illegal bc most players take a couple steps to get enough power to throw the ball as far as possible. my own teammates have done this exact thing without any consequence bc it is completely legal as long as both feet are on the ground when the ball gets released.
Yup, turns every time the ball goes out into a corner kick with a better angle, half the time the ball just bounces in bc nobody can clear it properly 😂
Because it shows she can make a goal/pass very accurately. Let me also ask you this what is the point of shooting if you don’t always make it in? Your logic doesn’t work.
the reality of it, against a decent team, that balls never getting anywhere near the goal. theres a reason no one does this past hs. its a gimmick that is undone by skill.
@@c.s.p.5103 This was actually done in professional leagues sometimes, the reason no one does it anymore is because it was made illegal, well technically it aways was illegal since you need to have both feet firmly planted before the throw in, but no one ever enforced that rule, I believe they started enforcing after a player fucked it up and and hurt his back after trying this but I cant find a source on it sorry. The reason is no one really trains this because most stadiums have the advertisement plaques very close so you have no room for this, and a lot of teams prefer to try and pass and play the ball, and on professional leagues teams have atheltes with enough strenght to throw the ball with just their arm strenght.

You're absolutely correct. A better coached opponent would have defended that better but at the high school level They all just stand there and watch. Truthfully the keeper should be coming in there like a freight train and just catch it (bust up some forwards too for good measure). As a ref it is always fun to have this type of thrower because it adds a new wrinkle to the game, not the same old up to the flag and cross it in or dump an chase to the speedy striker. Chess match games are the most fun to referee.
@@thebluestig2654unfortunately didn’t

Ain’t nobody afraid of a teenage girl who can throw a soccer ball
Dude, it's not a legal throw, fullstop, anywhere in the game. Banned years ago.
Enough with the safety nanny garbage, once you start down that path, you end up with a game where there are no penalties, no scoring, and no losers, everybody wins and gets a participation trophy.
@@Winteriscoming... Apparently it was done at the World Cup by an Iranian player, so it's not as banned as you think it is.

@@lukegleeson8994it’s really hard for the official to tell whether they were or not. If I were the ref, I’d call it an illegal pass
as a soccer referee- not legal, her feet came off the ground before the ball was released from her hands. this would result in a throw in for the other team at that spot.
And any assessor would tell you off for that. It is a legal throw. The feet only need to be touching the ground on release.

by that logic, most throw ins would be illegal bc most players take a couple steps to get enough power to throw the ball as far as possible. my own teammates have done this exact thing without any consequence bc it is completely legal as long as both feet are on the ground when the ball gets released.
It’s not legal but it is cool

the reality of it, against a decent team, that balls never getting anywhere near the goal. theres a reason no one does this past hs. its a gimmick that is undone by skill.
