      @therealuncleowen2588 Před 2 lety

      @@TheMrPeteChannel That story is true regarding Sun Devil Stadium, not Arizona Stadium. Part of the reason Sun Devil had to be renovated was because the structural steel under the stands was built without rustproofing, in order to save money. The thought was that it didn't need it in such a dry climate. But, after every game the seats were hosed down, and thus, rust developed after all. That was reported by the Arizona Republic and included in the inspection report that spelled out the need to address the issue within a few years or risk the stadium becoming unsafe. That was in about 2010. It was a blessing in disguise because it created a sense urgency to renovate the stadium, which needed it for years but was never made a priority until it had to be.

    I'm a Sun Devil but did go down to Tucson to watch a game against USC many moons ago. Walking up, i couldn't believe it...students hanging signs and partying it up with all their windows open. I can't imagine how loud that's gotta be...ha!
    Also, the Rose Bowl is infamous for the upper seats being so far away (horizontally) from the game, you'll need binoculars and/or a satellite-feed. And the walk to the restrooms is a country-mile.
    Edit: And now I see another poster mentioned the same thing about AZ.... It's such an unusual arrangement...like Woody Allen's childhood home in "Annie"...built under a rollercoaster...🤣

    Sun Devil Stadium is also directly underneath the flight pattern for Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport. When I was in high school our marching band played there as part of the festivities for the annual Fiesta Bowl, and a plane went overhead just as we were about to start our performance, and to this day I'm surprised that I (along with many of my fellow band members) was able to maintain sphincter control. We're from a small town that doesn't see many passenger jets flying that low over the town, so I'm also somewhat surprised that we maintained composure and didn't scatter to the exits like a flock of spooked chickens.
