Do you always need it plugged into the router with the ethernet cable or is it only at the start ?
I ordered two Reolink Duo 2 wifi but both of them won't power on because the power plug of the camera won't get power from my house power outlets.
can I mount the camera in the 50 cm sloping roof in order to be able to frame both the right corner of the house and the left corner of the house? the camera with an angle of 180° should frame both the right wall and the left wall of the house. Or do you recommend mounting two independent cameras? In the latter case, however, it would seem to me an inelegant solution
Hi, thanks for your question. We are not sure how your house looks like so we cannot have a confirmed answer. But here are some videos captured by Reolink Duo 2 cameras for your reference: czcams.com/play/PL30v_uSGvJLWmjJuoTb5OrcZmYeTTCISe.html
Hope this helps.😀
Why is there no information about the cabling? The WiFi model has a power cable and the PoE model an Ethernet cable too, both need to be tidied and waterproofed.
the reolonk app is in the phone connected to a wifi. the camera is via lan. is this the same network? if not how can i connect the phone to the lan via ethernet
Hi, if your WiFi router is also connected to the LAN, they'll be in the same network.
i have just purchased this camera and have set it up on my phone however i cannot get the spotlight to come on when a motion is detected please help
Hi, please troubleshoot the issue refer to support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/900002175103-Spotlight-is-not-Working-at-Night/?slug=status&search=no%20spotlights. If still no results, please contact Reolink support at support@reolink.com, thank you.
Reolink, can this camera with the solar panel if connected to the same network as my RioLink NVR record and save onto the NVR only on motion?
Sorry to tell you that the solar camera could not work with Reolink NVR. 😯
@@ReolinkCameras It's unfortunate. Would be nice if it could at least transmit motion to the NVR
I simply added a small solar panel to the cam.. well, added panel to the 12v battery that powers the cam
@@JonJon501where did you get this accessory?
I have a Reolink RLC-511WA 5MP upgraded my Internet with booster and cable from router to camera but still have problems delayed timing on sensor when people walk bye and crackling audio can anybody help me with this please 🙏
Hi, have you upgraded the firmware to the latest version or tried adjusting the camera position? If the problem persists, please contact our support team (support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new), they're more than happy to help.
Is it also possible to continuously transport the signal over the ethernet cable instead of using it as a plain wifi device for better throughput?
For the Duo 2 WiFi the answer is yes.Generally, wiring the device to the network using an Ethernet cable can get a better and more stable connection than connecting to WiFi
@ReolinkCameras I realized the WIFI versions is not wireless. You need an AC adapter to plug it it. Isn't this useless? the point of anyone using a wifi camera is to be wireless. Even worse once you realize that you have to power it by wire you say why don't I just use the Ethernet cable instead, YOU CAN'T!! the WIFI versions need a electric power source regardless if you use the ethernet or the wifi. am I correct?
@@kimyam7313 WiFi is about it's way of data transmission not how the power for the camera is organized 😀
@@kimyam7313Yes you need to provide power to the camera that is quite obvious isn't it, so either you use the shipped power adapter to do so or you buy the POE Power Over Ethernet wired version, which you did not want in the first place.
Does this WIFI model support being powered by a solar panel?
No.... comes with plug for outlet or I believe can be powered by ethernet
well hell yeah. runs on 12v at 1.0-1.7ish amps.. IR lights, spotlight will draw the 1.7ish amps..
small 12v batt and a small solar panel, booom, you just made shit happen!!
What's the power cord look like? adapter? brick? how long are the cables?
Blok like shown on the video 11/2mtr cabling
How does it get power do I connect to the mains or does it have battery
You may please power it on by a power adapter that comes with camera.
what dumb feature. they should have a built in battery. what is the point of getting this camera if it's not wireless?
I'm game. If this is "wifi", what's the cable in the picture for?
Hi, the Ethernet cable is used to connect the camera to the network during the initial setup. The cable should be removed after the initial setup. Btw, a battery-powered Duo 2 is coming, which will bring you a completely wire-free experience even during the setup.😃
Since it's connected to power, will it record 24/7?
Yes, make sure you insert an SD card if using it as a standalone camera🙂
@@ReolinkCameras Which power supply do I need to purchase? I can't find the specs of any of the external power cameras.
How do I set up cloud Storage
Hi, please refer to the article: support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012739034-How-to-Upload-Recordings-to-Reolink-Cloud-Server/?slug=cloud&search=setup%20cloud. Thanks.
The camera is wifi, but requires a cable for installation/configuration. This was poorly thought out by the company and makes installation difficult, in other words, not intuitive.
Sorry, it requires to use an ethernet cable that come with the camera for a set up. But then you could choose to use wifi.
so everytime, my wifi goes down, I will have to plug it to reconnect it to the wifi?
@@ReolinkCameras 100% agree, and boy I had seen the camera go down, imagine climbing up again, unscrewing it, have a long cable just to get back to a working state!
@@kimyam7313 100% agree with you, its annoying, especially if mounted high up, or far away from nearest cable!
