    EDIT: Continuous 24/7 recording is available even with a microSD card if you go to Camera Recording -> Schedule -> Timer. THANK YOU to @Pro1er for that tip!

      What is the largest SD card you can put in. With 24/7 recording, will the largest size overwrite in how much time?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před rokem +1

      @@jesmpk2298 You can insert up to a 256 GB microSD card. I have a 256 GB microSD card, and I can review around four days of footage with the 24/7 recording mode while recording in max resolution permitted, 20 frames per second and 5120 bitrate. If I drop the frames per second, I'd be able to go back further in time for review purposes.

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před 11 měsíci

      Hey @codeezy882, I wish I had an NVR to connect this, but I don't right now. Let me contact Reolink and find out if their NVR unit will allow recording from their wireless cameras. I know this camera records to NVR, but I think it's via ethernet/RJ45, but let me confirm for sure and get back to you. Thanks for watching my video btw 🙂

    • @DemCrumblies

      Hey @codeezy882, here is Reolink's reply, so it is possible. "You can add the Wifi cameras to the NVR wireless, without a network cable. THe NVR can find the cameras under the same network automatically But it must be operated on the TV or monitor connecting to the NVR via HDMI port. Hi there, great review thank you. A couple of questions for you, 1) Have you tried using a microSD card larger than 256? In other cameras brands I have tested, those limits can be exceeded. 2) Is the recorded video file on the SD card (once removed from the camera and viewed on desktop) the stitched field of view of both cameras, or does it individualise the files to each camera?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před rokem

      Hey Bradley, I didn't try to use higher than 256 GB, because the Reolink site only up to 256 GB is supported. However, maybe you are correct about being able to use a higher capacity, I just don't have higher than 256 GB on hand to test that out, unfortunately.
      The video files are one single video file. I didn't remove the SD card though, I just used the Reolink software and downloaded from the SD file to my computer, and it's one stitched video file. For a 2 minute clip, the file size is around 77 MB.
      Btw, I inaccurately stated that this is not capable of continuous recording without use of the Reolink NVR. However, another viewer mentioned that you can go into the Recording scheduling and set a schedule which allows for continuous recording. I have now set up my camera this way, however, I can no longer filter or search for video clips by specific motion triggers like cars, people, pets, etc. I just have to scrub through the entire timeline.

      Hey @calummccreath2345, yep it's easy to share it with your wife. She will just have to download the Reolink App, then you can go into the Share setting on your Reolink App to get a QR code for her to scan to add the camera to her App. Alternatively, both of you can be signed into the App using the same user account at the same time. Hi, thanks for this video. I see the ethernet port while you install the camera. Did you connect that using ethernet cable to your router or only power cord ?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před rokem

      Hey Don, I am only using WiFi for my camera. I bought the WiFi version, and even though you can connect an ethernet cable instead of using WiFi on it, I didn't want to run a long ethernet cable through my house. So the only connection now is the power cord. If you buy the POE (power over ethernet) version, then you can have power and internet connectivity with just an ethernet cable.

    • @DimplesDon9

      @@DemCrumblies Thanks for the quick response. Might get the wifi version also to avoid running and drilling hole for the ethernet cable. Video clips is only limited for 30 seconds what if there is more movement beyond that time?

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před rokem +1

      @@DimplesDon9 Hey Don, you're welcome. So another viewer mentioned that if you go into the the Schedule setting, there is a way to set the camera to record 24/7 all the time. I have set mine up that way now, and it records continuously in 5 minute clips. The only downside I noticed though is that before I could filter clips by car, human, pets, etc. However, with the 24/7 continuous recording, those filters no longer work since there are no conditional triggers registered first to start the recording if that makes sense.

    You can record 24/7 to the SD card by selecting "Timer" in the menu.
    If you decide to do that I would recommend getting an endurance SD card, (you should be using one anyway), and the full 256GB for longevity.

    will the wifi camera just work off your phone??

    • @DemCrumblies
      @DemCrumblies Před rokem

      If you turn on WIFi sharing or HotSpot Sharing and connect the camera to your phone during setup, yes it will work, but I don't think you can use this as a long term solution because WiFi sharing or Hotspot Sharing may turn off after a certain time to save the phone battery. Also, if you leave the house and take your phone with you, the camera will lose connectivity. It should still record to the memory card, but you won't be able to access it remotely. If you live in a remote area where internet isn't easy to come by, you could buy a 4G modem, insert a SIM card with a data plan that allows hotspot and leave it at the location for a permanent solution. Let me know if that answered your question. Thanks for watching 🙂
