    So I bought a conversion kit from a “buggies gone wild” vendor. Let’s just say…. Not happy. I rent carts and the conversion kit(unannounced) added a new power pedal that does not release the parking brake. If it was my own cart then ok I could get used to it. In the rental business renters end up driving the cart with the parking brake on because it doesn’t release when you push the power pedal. Dumb, I know. But nowhere in the literature does it show this. So now I have a second resistor cart that I do NOT want to install this kit. The first cart and kit I’ll just have to bite the bullet. The second kit I will try to sell. This kit you have looks so easy compared to the kit I installed. Wires not marked and some were absolutely different than the diagrams given. So I saw your number on a previous post and will be calling tomorrow. Thank you for this amazing tutorial. Having done this with black and white diagrams that were basically useless and lots of wasted hours I am so impressed with what you turned out here. If anyone is considering doing this, take my word this tutorial is the bomb!!! Thank you!!

    thanks so much for your video, it really helped me trace down and remedy an issue. I was changing the wiring on my ds which had been spliced and redone in a terrible way, and for some crazy reason it would not go, although I had everything correct.... except one little wire. thx again.

  • @commoncentsideas1215

    Great video. I wish you could have gone over the specific wiring for the potentiometer. I see online that there are some with 2 wire.. some with 4 wires and some that have 3 wires and 2 microswitches. Also, how does the reverse button connect?
    Finally… if my motor does not have a speed sensor (the motor is still good and I don’t want to upgrade yet)…. Can the potentiometer and controller still work? How would that wire up?
    Thanks

    • @cartsmarttv
      @cartsmarttv  Před 2 lety

      The reason we didn't go over the wiring is that our kit comes with the pre-made harness to plug into the potentiometer that we offer in this kit. They're many different pot boxes out there that all pretty much do the same thing.
      The F&R switch is also wired into the harness which goes to the controller.
      You can use your stock motor and don't have to use the speed sensor wiring however, you're kinda defeating the whole purpose of the upgrade as you will end up with the same performance of your cart...ie, speed, torque etc...
      Feel free to give us a call and to go over what/why you're considering upgrading your cart? We can help. 276.632.8905

    Great video. Quick question. Around 14:30, The pb6 potbox throttle has the ball stud on the end hole of the arm. I don't have enough throw from the accelerator pedal to move the potbox arm from stop to stop. What's the detail on this? Did you move the ball higher on the potbox arm? Or what?

I will need everything you're doing and Batteries. I like your pre-Marked wires for installation. I have a 91 EzGo Marathon - Series and Resistor Coil - I want to switch over to new motor and controller - What can I get that would be like this with the wire harneness and all? It seems if I am replacing all of it, I could almost use any kit with a wiring harness and just make it work? Only questions was the F\R switch, do I need an HD one? and for the throttle I could rig up something to make it function if a new one is not avail for my old ass Marathon - your thoughts? I see the link shows a different motor. My understanding is that the 1980 Club Car Caroche the motor to axle shaft is opposite of most. With the Male end on the motor side. I clicked your link, but I'm concerned on if I would be ordering the right stuff. This is all new to me, so Converting this Old Coil unit to Solid State is a bit overwhelming, since I also want to convert the Battery System as well to Lithium Set up. My understanding is that my unit can handle the 48v instead of the 36v. But since we are only using for Fairly Flat or minor hill golfing, I'm not sure I would need the 48v. I would love to order to get something rolling but wasn't sure if I needed the Motor or not.

    • @cartsmarttv
      @cartsmarttv  Před 8 měsíci

      Being that your unit is a series cart you would need to change the motor however, the only way to do that is to change the rear end you have? We have changed them over with a newer used rear end in the past. If you're thinking about going Lithium now would be the time to change over as you'll have to get a different charger anyway.
