Not worth the risk but 8 millions to caufield for 8 years was? Zegras is the best bargain of all the nhl , he only makes 5.3 for only two more years , no long term commitment but long enough to evaluate him and make a long term decision. Montreal will be forced to trade good prospect defensemen this summer and nobody on the habs roster has zegras type numbers at the same age and Zegras been on horrible teams , plus he suffer an ankle injury which takes the longest time , he also knows caufield and Montreal second centre is Jake Evans
So not sure how that would be a bad pick up , when you’re paying gallagher 6.5, Anderson 5.5. Montreal needs imidiate offensive talent , not some grinder .
I love how he nit picks zegras bad play, how about making a video of gallagher, ylonen, Anderson highlights 😂😂😂
Last thing the habs need is a point getting center🤦‍♂ they’re set with Pezzetta, dvorak and Evans 🤦‍♂

I think habs fans saying no to Zegras is nuts. 22 years old and two 20 goals seasons and two seasons of 60+ points. Habs lack young talented offence and there are so few options available. This seems like a golden opportunity for Montréal, and trading some 1st round picks in what's expected to be a rather weak draft year for offensive players seems like a great deal. Surrounded by the right coaching and players i'm sure he'd be a great fit in Mtl.

    • @nc8507
      @nc8507 Před 4 měsíci

@@Blue-bv1urHow many are likely to pan out? Zegras at 22 has shown he has huge potential. There's not a ton of centers under the age of 23 with two 60 points and 20 goals seasons before 22.
Also, how likely are we to even get a pick in the top 10? The Habs certainly aren't great, but there's a real possibility they finish above the bottom 10 teams this year.
      Just my opinion though.

@@user-superf the whole trade rumor was from speculation by Frank Seravalli. And it was based off of lack of understanding of why Gauthier was acquired. I’m not in the camp that Zegras doesn’t need to improve in certain areas nor do I think he’s a superstar, but the idea that he’s some trick shot merchant is not true. I see him being similar to a Keller or Fiala type when he’s at his peak

I was musing that zegras would be a good fit in Pittsburg. Penguins can handle a “problem” child. That franchise could use a top 6 forward, but they lost their best trade chip to ltir which would work as part of a 3 team trade. Guentzal to a contender, pick and prospect to the quacks. I hope every team kicking the tires with Zegras decides not to go after him. His two way game was improving before his injury and with the center depth the Ducks have he will probably start playing wing, which the Ducks need more of. He is going to keep developing and has a very good chance at being a point per game player. Why trade for someone you already have.

Some brutal takes here. Just as bad as grants takes on Tony’s show last night. Tony was literally about to pull his hair out when Grant was going on about Zegras. KK scored one OT goal in playoffs and Grant uaed it to justify taking him 3rd over Brady. Then argued that if Habs had taken Brady they wouldn’t have Slaf. These are some galaxy brain takes and honestly, also a little petty.

Even if Zegras is not my type of player ... i would offer J Barron ( to replace Drysdale and we have Reinbacher and Mailloux), a young talent like Kidney/Farrel/Bogdan... and a second pick... just to please the croud and have a Second power play and a 6th forward of talent ( goal scorers are tough to find)
But i doubt Anaheim will say yess... so forget it...
Rocco... i love what you bring ... the details... but this time i am not in love with your riser... i would say Grants riser will go 60 picks higher... your guy seems like a good fourth line guy...no key talent.
On my side... Nygard keeps growing on me
from the end of the first round he was months ago... he now is tied for 10th with Iginla and Helenius
just so strong for a talented 2 way guy...
    worst case 3 rd line
but second is highly possible... i still hope the habs gets Lindstrom or DemiGod ( Demidov)
Lastly... i loved you talked about... should the habs get Zegras... would love to see your imput on going hard for Middlestadt, Erikson Ek... 25 to 27 years old great number 5 forward on our team ( under 6 millions)... my question to all is... who would be the perfect player in the nhl we should be agressive... tradewise... according to your evaluation of the player and the needs we ( habs) have
