- For many the chod rig provides assurance for when the fishing situation is urgent or lakebed uncertain... On many levels it's a fool hardy rig, but playing a fish on such a short hook worries some anglers about hook pulls. ESP Chod Sleeves are a simple and worthy addition to any chod arrangement, cushioning and absorbing those heart beating lunges under the rod tip! #espcarpgear

Where the hell are all these freaking perfect estate lakes!
This is by far the most simple looking chod rig I've seen. I will try this one on the weekends. Fish on!
Lovely looking lake ❤️
Goooo onnnnn jacky boy.💪🎣🙂
these are great but i cant help noticing that the bottom bead stayed on its silicon when it went down the leader and therefore under the first lunge it would have compressed and locked the chod sleeve under force so pretty much is solid through the fight not acting like a shock absorber, if you use a bottom bead it needs to end up running free off its silicon sleeve to let the sleeve expand and contract?
Sick
🔥
When casting out should I pull back slowly ?
3:06 and this is why you must use the Korda HeliSafe.
Jack said at the end, that the Chod Sleeve is a great option if you are not dropping the lead. 8 tench were caught that morning - you cannot be dropping the lead for each of those and every rig that landed in the weed.
Dropping a lead is just a commercial joke anyway.... When playing a fish with common sense you will not lose your fish. A chod-rig is simply not a rig to use when you need to play a fish hard. Play your fish gently and you will land most of them, when hooked well.
How are korda heli safe that safe once the leads gone the chod rig cannot push the bead off as there is no weight to pull against it. Dropping the lead is rarely needed anyway.
@@ESPCarpgear river fishing?
@@gwl78 Also they can clog up with silt/grit and dont release the lead anway !!
I'm a chod virgin. But definitely gonna give this a try.
The bumping fish off is why I’ve used a hinge stiff rig instead of a chod rig, but this has changed my opinion
Good idea how strong are the sleeves?? After 2-3 fish there be ready to change or they stronger than that?
I've had them (or a prior version) on the leaders for months doing ~1night a week. I've been using them for a few years and can only remember one splitting during a particularly savage battle. Usually only end up changing them because the leaders get stinky and/or frayed up after a while! :)
👍🏻
Sulely having your tips up like that will expose the line more to the fish.
In some situations it might, but most fish aren't too spooked by lines. It was weedy and fishing at long range :)
andrew tate with the tips high to get it over marginal weed etc more of line at the rig end will be sunk giving a better presentation when fished slack 👍
In the nicest possible way, cos I'll never wanna knock ESP or their anglers, why did the fish have to be carried so far?
It was during that heat wave a little while back. It was better to take it somewhere flat, out the sun and soft. Holding a fish up on boards is a tad risky.
@@ESPCarpgear fair play! You didn't need to reply haha. Hope all are well at ESP
Where’s he walking that fish to? Bit of a hike no?
It was during the heat wave and needed to come out the sun, and off the boards.
Well done jack chods for god's
Jack is like young Terry :D
No way. Terry is humble and respectful. He's a leader that others try to follow.
Terry was using choddy's when this kid was in nappies.
I''ve lost a lot of fish on chods in the past.
Mine have always been nailed
Its a chod rig!!
Always best to drop the lead, imo.... Even with a chod sleeve. the lead can bounce around, smashing into s fish's head, eyeball, gill plate, on the fight..
No man has ever caught a fish on a chod rig. It's all a conspiracy.
Sure...
I had this problem last time I used the chod but hooked into a good few. This time I'm going to drop the weight. I was using 3oz so pretty sure the weight was giving me the hook pulls
