just got a new MY and mine has a huge gap on the right side, and barely any on the left. not a big deal but it is a new car, so I scheduled a service appt. and the "service advisor" said they are going to tug on the entire hatch and try to bend the levers lol

Awesome video, I had the same issue.
The hard plastic part wasn’t even flush with the body.

@@oksquared6037 great to know, thanks for the reply. This problem is not specific to the structural battery pack.

You shouldn't have to do this final line adjustment yourself. Its just a faulty process or forgotten step. Bad on Tesla. Any closure should have proper integration of good seal, fit and finish, and no interferences. I worked for 2 Big 3s and this is sometimes called the overslam requirement - where you have sufficient clearance that no metal ever touches the light assemblies even if a closure is 'overslammed', and then has adjustable bumpers like you used to fine tune the fit and finish appearance for craftsmanship. Latches should be adjustable , as you showed as well.

I agree, it is a pretty big miss for Tesla. However, if you look at what they were producing 2 years ago, this is an improvement 🤣

i believe the hook (you mentioned at 5:29) isn't adjustable.
the screws that hold the hook, doesn't have space to wiggle. at 1:30

Tesla won't do anything that is beyond their parameters which is superminimal at best. Is it measured in micrometers? Or nanometers? I dont know.l.. instead they recommended trunk hatch replacement which is my case was in the tune of $2300. I was hoping the technician would work with another as they work in twos to adjust the hatch and I was even open to them bending the trunk to an acceptable level. I would be even agreeable to paying for the labor. However, they dont want to do that. The trunk is malleable and can be bent. I'm on my own now. Manual labor....

That’s unfortunate, is your vehicle still under warranty?
