It's just insane they still have this problem. It's OK in the beginning. But after 12 years?

    Quality product huh?

  • @TheOneRedlight

TLDR: Tesla won't really fix body gaps because it's too messed up across the WHOLE car.

I’d never buy a Tesla after seeing that absolutely crappy build quality. It’s just slapped together.

Totally appalled at the product Tesla provided with the steep price tag. Is this a common theme with Teslas?

That is ridiculous. People pay so much money for Tesla vehicles and this fitment problem that is still a problem. Amazing. Good luck!

That's terrible. Not acceptable. I heard the paint is not that good either.

I’m sorry George, as much as I like you, I hate to tell you- I spot other issues besides your gaps…. I see creases/bulges in the metal as well. Not surprised at Tesla, disappointing to anyone who spends that kid of money to get a perceived “quality” product. Remember… the definition of quality in a marketing sense is where price meets expectations- this just isn’t it.

For a car starting at nearly 140k the fit and finish better be fucking perfect.

The A-pillar at the bottom is on a half box square bracket. It is adjustable but requires body shop hydraulic tools to bend that bracket down. Both gap issues are cause by the SAME misalignment. If they bent the forward part of the box bracket downward to close horizontal gap towards the front, the vertical/diagonal alignment next to the hood would also be fixed. You can actually just remove the plastic trim in front of it (open the hood first), and press firmly down with your fingers and temporarily adjust it. As soon as you lift off, it will spring back into it's current misaligned state.

Thanks for the video! I'm about to schedule an appointment into a small misalignment on the right fender on my S Plaid, the fender should be moved forward a tiny bit if that is at all possible. Wish I could fix myself, I'll have to investigate. Didn't know about the faux charges so that's good to know. There are a couple of other minor things I do expect to get fixed.

They want to build rockets and can't even aligns panels on a car. Imagine a rocket aligned like this moving at 1000 m/h.

Great advice about the app charge. I wonder if that's the case with the RWD model 3 too

I rented two Hertz Teslas & both had big panels that were out of whack. Maybe from accidents? The cars worked great.
