Thanks. Saved me a trip to Tesla services. They only maintenance in over a year. Knock out lithium
Have you ever had to access the camera housing on the windshield? I have get to it and clean the glass and I dont see any obvious ways of doing it without breakage occurring. thank you
I wonder those bolt point when after adjust they will be no more paint on them, will be likely rusting?
These bolts won’t rust.
How do we adjust the top, mine on the passages side top is higher than the driver side. Is it even adjustable?
There are 2 13mm bolts that fasten the hinge to the car body. Loosen them, move the hinge, tighten.
How do you adjust the c pillar panel gap on the trunk and rear quarter panel?
To adjust the gap between the quarter panel and the trunk gate, you need to move the gate at the hinges, or move the gate lock latch.
@@HKX_ORANGECHICKEN Tesla service should be able to correct gaps. (I am sorry I removed your question by mistake).
@@diytesla should I be worried to have them fix it? I've heard they fix 1 thing and make others worse
@@HKX_ORANGECHICKEN If you can have them do it under warranty I think it’s worth a shot. The tail gate is tricky to align and sometimes not even possible to make it perfect. If they can’t do it then you can try going to a body shop.
@@diytesla thanks. I really want tesla to make it right but I also don't want any new damages or anything else to get messed up. Already ppf on the car... wondering if I should just live with it
My Y has a huge gap on the door where metal doesn't meet. Horrible welding on Tesla's part. Leading me to realize that other welding points are substandard. Huge safety issue.
Where is the gap? I am yet to see a Tesla with bad welding near doors.
I’m a certified Tesla mechanic after fixing Elon’s mistake.
We're you able to adjust your doors?
@@johnw614 Yes.
You didn't by chance record it? What fixes did you make?@@merovingian688
If you scratch the nuts will they rust?
They shouldn’t rust
@@diytesla thank you
I’m only asking because I notice that they are painted from the factory and if you adjust there’s always a chance you can scratch them and expose the metal to the elements
Tesla service is non existent on door gaps.
I have a 3/8 drop in the rear door. The back of the rear door rubs the rocker panel, and nearly touches the rear quarter panel on the top. All gaps taper like if rotated counter clockwise 3/16 would all align. Tesla service, after looking at photos only, says the gaps are "within spec". A new term Tesla has adopted. These are not inexpensive cars. Anyone wishing to join a class action suit on these gap issues, please respond. Together we may be able to compel Tesla to fix our cars, and just maybe finish them right from the factory.
me here same issue
My front doors are not aligned with the fenders at all. I point it out to them and they just look at it as if it doesn’t exist, then call it within spec
Ask them what the specs are? They clearly never measured a picture.
so you want us to adjust bolts on doors of a $50-70K car? Umkay dude...
No one is making you :)
