@@HonestSportsFan Be that as it may, a professional would do what was needed without complaint. As a footballer, you are getting paid to do a job. That job involves (among other things) doing what your manager tells you to do on the football pitch. Ronaldo is probably the greatest goalscorer in the history of the game, but he was in the wrong here.

Ten hag had it out for Ronaldo, never liked Ronaldo. he punished CR7 for missing pre-season but plays anthony without pre-season. then when ronaldo left, he played a stiker who couldnt run dribble pass press or even score a single goal. that guy played almost every game. so Ronaldo was right to call them out and leave. he is much happier now and Al- Nasser has no issues with him. in fact they got sadio mane and Fofana and Telles because of him.

@andreferraz8811 The press didn't exactly protect Beckham after he was sent off in the 1998 World Cup, so I don't think that is true. Also one could argue that Ronaldo has certainly fallen from grace over the last 12 months. He didn't turn up to preseason and tried to engineer a move to another Champions League club, which never materialised and did a highly unprofessional interview with Piers Morgan attacking United and Ten Hag. He also smashed a phone out of a child's hand, has had numerous temper tantrums on and off the pitch, including refusing to be subbed on and doing a MMA choke slam on an opponent in the Saudi League. If you want to listen to Ronaldo being lauded 24/7, then maybe listen to Portugese media instead of English media. Sounds like you just have an Anti-English bias, and it's very cool complain about English people at any opportunity at the moment, yet you still listen to English media and watch English football.

However this time I think he never should have left. And I would have sacked Ten Hag for not playing him and selling DDG. I don't need any time to repair my feelings about Ronaldo. He was spot on with everything he said, including about Erik Ten Hag. We can see that the club has no moved forwards in the last 10 years since Sir Alex left. In fact it has moved backwards and it is STILL moving backwards. We are probably going to finish 5th or 6th this year and that is simply not good enough. Ronaldo is a winner and he thought United were winners too. When he got back and realised that they are settling for 3rd and 4th, he was understandably appalled.

Liverpool fan here. Ronaldo is in my top 3 greatest players of all time. The guy has everything. And the form for 15 years is never gonna be done again I believe. This is where I will maybe even put him as the greatest footballer of all time the consistency for 15 years. They talk about when he came back to England he scored over 24 goals in his first season and I might be mistaken but he started in October that season. So how he dropped in form as a 36 year old. I don't know what they are on about he was better than most players that season that were much younger. He's getting older now of course performance is gonna drop.

Meulensteen said it all... they should have asked Ronaldo to leave the club early the moment Eric came in and didn't see him fit into his plans to nib it in the bud early.
The club never handles this issues well. Same thing with DeGea and now Maguire, Fred, Scot McTominay, Donny... get rid of the players you don't want before fans begin to rage with hateful remarks. The fans and players have mental health concerns to resolve when these issues occur. A bit of a loveless relationship.
Hopefully, fans will learn to constructively criticize rather than 'condemn' & 'hate' (CANCEL) some of the likes of Tevez, Pogba, CR7, DeGea etc.
Not sure if you're aware, but selling players isnt like selling lemonade on the street corner. Even if you identify a player you dont want its usually a very long and drawn out process to get them sold, especially if they're not a player in huge demand, or have large contracts. Then you still have the issue of bringing in the correct replacements for the right price. It was clear last season ETH knew there were players clearly not fit for his system, but he had to make do with what he had. Now that he's had his first "proper" transfer window, all the players you're mentioning have been on the exit list from day 1. Our window has been excellent so far imo

No it's not that black n white when you reach the top you take good advice and best practice tips along with attitude and professionalism from all manner of people and coaches especially when young like the period being discussed, its often the extra attention to details and different training methods that can set you apart from your piers
Ronaldo became a much better footballer when he joined Real. I doubt very much that Rene telling him to watch videos of players like Solskjaer or Sherringham added much to his game as he was already better than both of them combined.
