- In this episode of the new 'build along' series I'll be adding a few bits of scatter terrain to the rooms that were made in the last video.
And, if you haven't picked it up already, you can find the pdf file here (it's also an affiliate link):

Kris, I can't thank you enough for posting actual creative content and being positive in your oration... and not spewing drama nonsense, like most other YT channels do. I'm too old and cranky for their scripted baby drama, being done just to manipulate their viewers for increased clicks and comments. You actually create and craft! Thank you for sharing your work!
No problem. I think there's more than enough drama in the gaming world without me adding to it 🙂
Don't get me wrong though, I have plenty of thoughts and opinions about certain topics - I just don't think this is the place for it* (so it's good to hear that the channel is a nice escape from that kind of stuff).
*plus, just making the terrain takes up most of my time as it is - I wouldn't really have time to make any other sort of content 😅
I love your crafting! But just as much, I love your adventure designs!
Thanks :)
To be honest though - this whole 'build along' adventure has been rather linear (due to the nature of the video series)... but I'm hoping folks will still find some use in it (even if it's just to repurpose some of the encounter ideas in other adventures :) ).
Another excellent adventure. Love the way you created the flames in the brazier. very creative.
:) Thanks!
I agree with the comments above-- you're so inventive! The things you're able to do with paper and cardboard are really amazing! Thank you, I always know that, even if I don't make the build, I'll be inspired by several things in your videos
Thanks - that's good to hear :)
Genius! Great crafting and an awesome fun puzzle! I know this alone would take my group a whole session 😊
I think it's one of those things that could take half an hour per room - or a half hour total (but as long as folks have fun* - that's all that matters 🙂)
*well, hopefully it'll be fun 😅
@@CrookedStaffTerrain yeah it would definitely be fun :) My group take aaaages to do anything (and I mean that in a positive way, we love to faff!)
You are so clever Chris! Thank you.
No probs.
Dude, I want to say you are an awesome guy. You have come up with an awesome way that is rather easy for most to get a game of DND with Terrian.
Thanks. I do hope that some of these videos encourage the 'terrain curious' to give it a try (because, as you say, it's a pretty easy/cheap/quick way to see if you'll like that kind of addition to your game).
You've outdone yourself.
Hopefully you'll also enjoy what's coming next...
I've ordered new printer ink for my printer for this - so looking forward to getting on with it! The brazier looks amazing! I love all the little details too. Your Build-a-longs are my favourite things - although my group has gotten most use of your sewer tiles so far.
Glad you're enjoying the series. While I'm far from original in my adventure design (and they're usually rather linear), I think it's good to have an example dungeon (or two) to accompany some of this stuff - just to see it 'in action' almost.
(plus it never hurts to have a few back-up encounters ready to go at a moments notice 😅)
I'm curious to see how the different combinations of key elements affect the dungeon. The use of pinking shears on the flames is brilliant too.
Yeah... each room/area/encounter is going to be slightly different depending on the players' choices as the progress through the dungeon. So I'm hoping players will find that fun... once they discover what is happening :)
Should do an actual play video so we can see it in use in real time :)
@@Shadowknightneo Never say never - but I don't think that's likely to happen (it's not really something I'd be comfortable doing I'm afraid).
Looking Great!!!
:) Thanks :)
Great! Love the elemental keys!
:) ...this entire level might have a bit of an elemental theme :D
Your creativity continues to amaze.
What fun!
Nice! Four elemental keys. I like it.
It should provide for a fun series of encounters I think (I guess I'll find out when I release more episodes :) ).
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Perhaps a forgotten shrine to the Temple of Elemental . . . oops! 😈
Muchas gracias
No problem :)
Thanks for the video! Some great additions in this one!
No probs. Hope you enjoyed it :)
Great stuff! I’ve always appreciated the amazing dungeon works you make!
Thank you very much!!!
(glad you've been enjoying some of this dungeon nonsense of mine :) )
I really enjoy your builds. I look forward to each new video. There's so many great builds I haven't done yet but I still want the next one now. I realized you create dreams. Watching each video I Invision making and using it in a game. Good dreams .thanks.
No probs - and thanks for the kind words (there's still tons of stuff I want to do too... but the hurdle for me getting all of the textures designed 😅...one day though, I will have 'all the things' ...well... maybe 'most of the things' 🙃)
I've just become a channel supporter. 😉
@@davidrath4931 Thank you very much for that (there should be one or two 'member only' posts with a couple of bonus textures here and there if you're interested in checking those out).
Great idea on using the textured scissors for the fire. I think it looks great!
Yeah... they work surprisingly well :)
❤❤
cool vid dude
Thanks :)
Yet again, awesome, both in simplicity in builds and effect it creates, and the story behind it all. I wonder a bit about the straws, though. I find it hard to get hold of plastic ones nowadays. Wouldn't the paper ones stay flat if you squish them?
You can usually un-squish them (and make them more round again) by poking something with a tapered end inside (a regular pencil for example).
I have a stupid question... Does anyone know if PBA Glue is like white schoolroom glue (like Elmer's)?
Some of mine have gotten unstuck, and I'm wondering if it's the glue type or the fact I'm leaving them in the garage.
I think there are various strengths of PVA... with the school/cheap variety being at the weeker end of the spectrum (as they are more watered down).
But I imagine being exposed to low/high temperatures might have some effect (don't know for sure though).
very 8
I feel like I'm missing something with all the '8' comments (forgive me... I'm old :) ).
@@CrookedStaffTerrain u didnt miss anything xD
