I'm glad you asked this question, and am equally pleased Lee answered you. 83 years old? That makes me fairly young at 72! And at age 63, you're still the child. Excess weight is easy to take off once the right habits are acquired.
I'd love to do high-bar work like when I was a child! In the 1940s, 50s and 60s, up until the age of attorneys, small towns like Laguna Beach, California, where I grew up, had three or four high bars in the sand, plus at least two parallel bars. Now you don't find these even in parks.

I just discovered Lee's CZcams channel 2 days ago. Talk about impressive! Talk about coming at the right time, just when most of my New Year's resolutions entail changes in my exercise program.
Now comes innovation, not merely changes from my limited base of knowledge at present time.
Attending junior high school during JFK's administration, with his new National emphasis on physical fitness, our classes in the gym on floor mats were very similar to what you see in Lee's videos.
In those days, high bar, parallel bars and other gymnastic equipment we're still allowed. This was the era before personal claims attorneys figured out how to become instant multimillionaires.

This is the power of Chinese traditional martial arts. They may not be great for fighting but are amazing for your health. Look at Jackie Chan who was a troublemaker as a kid so his parents sent him to an Opera School which was basically childrens boot camp. Jackie was so bad that his Master had him do 1 hour of handstands a day on top of traditional kung fu, training, singing, dancing, schooling and acting. However, Jackie became a legend.

Lee I can't help but agree. I'm 55 have recently found your channel. Why, I have lifted weights since 1982 and even competed as a powerlifter. Never got caught up in body building etc.
I have noticed though, over the years, despite my best efforts I'm lackint flexibility and explosion. Further I'm bored with up down, one plane training so I have started to embrace your ideas and am watching your videos. Thank you for the vids, I'm going to sign up. Wish I was physically closer to your headquarters. Are their any people you can recommend in the Minneapolis MN area?
I have a mix of good and bad flexibility. Jcurls, no issue learned long ago in the BFS (Bigger Faster Stronger) days to do that. I can do it with 185 on a bar standing on a bench bringing the bar to my instep. What I can't do. My shoulder and thoracic flexibility is non existent.
I will state though just with the vids I've seen on you tube I now have about 15 moves I am working daily or nearly and today in the shower I'm like "dang, never could reach that area of my back before" so I know the shoulders are coming along.
I too blew out my distal biceps tendon. It takes a lot less force to do that than most imagine. Anyway, be well, I will probably be signing up soon at least for the free stuff. Just wish there was an affiliate or something in Minneapolis.
