Every time I watch one of these videos I keep thinking I need to get up there and railfan. BTW, heritage unit 3024 was down here in Binghamton today I caught it this afternoon.
Fact is, in a street where trains and cars share a street, the train tracks where always there first and a town grew up along the track. BTW, I grew up in a three RR town. where a RR crossed many city streets
Ppl don't like to wait for the trains here. If there is an empty flatcar, they will hop on, and over instead of just waiting a min or 3. Sadly, I have watched quite a few do it and pray they don't get hurt in their stupid rush.
I assume so....the railroad has done a major upgrade of the tracks between Utica-Sangerfield (23 miles) as well as the Utica-area industrial tracks which serve customers in New Hartford & New York Mills
A leisurely jaunt down the street and to bring out the brightness of the pavement you use the old Hollywood trick of letting it rain. Thanks for the close-up of The crossing tower. Bitold had a bit of competition as a couple walked their dog across the street as the train was coming and looked about as excited as Bitold. A nice train to catch
Umm, it's also a street w cars and people around here drive like they own the road sadly. Plus there is a big elementary school right up the road from the tracks

By and large, except in a few situations, cabooses are no longer used today.

Yes, kids. I didn’t notice them until after I posted the video. Unfortunately, it’s a common occurrence on Schuyler Street.
