This video includes scenes from July 3, 2023 along the New York, Susquehanna & Western's Utica NY line, including both southbound & northbound views of UT-1's transit of Utica's Schuyler Street.
Good to see another one of your videos. Give Witold a hug for us. Thank you for sharing and telling us some good history. Witold is quite the gentedog. From Ohio, this is Steve and Valerie.
What a fantastic video... Love seeing the locals work. Spectacular street running through the neighborhood. Great information in your commentary during the video. And your railfanning dog looks to be a great companion. Have a fabulous fourth of July !!!
Happy Independence Day. Thanks for posting another great video filled with memories. Growing up in the Sauquoit Valley was wonderful. Today, I will spend the 4th in Palmyra, WI, not too far from Rome, WI. And yes, there is also a Utica, WI.
71° and humid, no thanks. Yesterday it was 116° with like zero percent humidity and I'll take that any day. I appreciate your suffering for your art, I do aviation photography and since I do live in Phoenix I have got myself in trouble more than once, so stay safe.
This is another Phoenician housebound by the 116* temps. But so happy to find out that the New Hartford station, which I remember as a child, has been saved and is enjoying a new life as a local pub!
Hey rail rambler I seen UT 1 in sangerfield yesterday on the way to Utica. Was hoping to see them on scyler street coming north . Unfortunately missed them
First time to watch one of your videos, and I really enjoyed it. The town looks charming, the landscape looks lovely and the action on the rails is sufficient to entertain. I also appreciated the history narrative. I was wondering what that green structure on the pole was. I assume it served a railroad function.
I have never been there in person but I have researched via Google Maps. Looking at both street and satellite views, it looks like there was a switch at this location that has long been removed. The sign is not clear on street view but it's called Schuyler Street Tower. It's a little difficult to tell but it looks like this line would have followed 5A to the west and and service a few business along the way before eventually connecting to the line that goes south at Greenman Ave. Most of this area has been redeveloped and rebuilt but some of the original structures look to still exist. Hopefully at some point in the future someone will read this and confirm.
I’ve always been fascinated by trains and am always sad when the line is no longer needed and removed as is the case in Robbinsville NJ. All that is left is a faded sign and “rail tracks” placed in the road. A simpler time 😢
Happy Independence Day!
Yeah
Right by one of the best breweries in the country!!
Happy 4th. NYS&W, now you sit and wait. Your commentary is superb resplendent with history and information.😎

Saw one of there engine in the Binghamton yard with no name on it’s side

Happy 4th from Tonawanda NY. We’re due for a series of “scorchers”😑
Looks like some of the trackage should be closed until proper maintenance can be performed.
Nice video again, thanks a lot! ; )
I also like the amount of information you give to the viewer!
hi
I'll take your 71 and very humid 7 days a week and twice on Sunday over my 91 with a heat index of 98...
It is heading towards my house.
:)
How often is this line used? Daily, once a week, once a month?
Daily M-F
When did 3040 return?
Thanks
Hope you and Witold are enjoying a pleasant Fourth of July
7:15 How hard is it to fix that track ?
19:15 Is there on the left this brewery that sometimes also gets some cars?
Yes, that's the spur to FX Matt Brewery
@@railroadingrambler218 Hihihi, great, I only watched this video of the bewery supply one time, but immediately recognised the location! 😂
