Slovenia's best Hike | 3-day | Mt.Triglav | Via Ferrata | Alps Peak | Bled to Bohinj to Vršič Pass

- We (4 dutch guys) drove from the Netherlands to Slovenia to visit Bled and the Triglav National Park. We parked the car in Zasip and went for the walk. We didn't use climbing gear, but we had luck with the weather conditions. We recommend to do the hike with climbing gear when it's wet or really windy.
This was one of our best hikes so far, beautiful country!

Very nice video, but for gods sake what is that "Balkan peak" doing in the title? You are in Alps, from when are Alps in Balkans?
Hi Emil! Thank you, I’m pretty sure Slovenia is a country which belongs to the Balkan. It’s true it’s part of the alps, but most people see it as an balkan-country. What would you suggest?
@Scholtyy well, not sure why you are so sure about that? Maybe lot of people (not well informed) see it as part of Balkans, but it does not make it necessarily true. Are you aware that majority of Slovenians do not see it like that and that there is divided view about that among experts, as western border of Balkans was geographically originally defined as end of Dinaridi mountains (today Croatia). Just as example: before Slovenia joined Kingdom of Yugoslavia (SHS) in 1918 it was never considered as part of Balkans (there was no source saying that) and even after that in geography books in former Yugoslavia it was always said that Balkans border was on Dinaridi mountains? Only after Yugoslavia disintegrated lot of people simply started to put all former Yugoslav republics as Balkan countries because Yugoslavia was Balkan country (with 80% of its territory being indeed in Balkans, but that 20% that was not was Slovenia and part of Croatia but nobody really knew that). I wonder why are you so sure about Slovenia being in Balkans? Did Slovenians tell you so (kind of doubt that), or you think Slovenia is culturally Balkans (wonder why) or maybe geographically (if so what geographical definition of western border of Balkans do you then use that includes for example Triglav in Balkans but then somehow miraculously stops few kilometers more west in the same Julian Alps that are also in Italy but according to you not in Balkans)?
@@Emilrenbe Hi Emil, it’s true my history knowledge about the southeastern part of Europe is not as clear as yours. For us Dutch people we didn’t learn a lot about that part of Europe. Maybe because it’s complicated and not really straightforward? Though, my goal of making the video and sharing it with that title is to let the people see, how beautiful Slovenia is. Out Dutch Wikipedia page just says it’s an balkan country, so I copied that without thinking. I’m trying to make catchy ‘title’ but that didn’t work out haha 😂. I changed it to Alps Peak. But I think that is also an questionable title for some people.
@Scholtyy no worries, I really like your video and maybe it looks for you in Netherlands this is too picky discussion, but it is probably similar as if somebody would call Netherlands just as Holland (which I am sure you know is not correct) or even worst as western Belgium or (even worst) North-western Germany 😉 History unfortunately makes some terms tricky. But I am 100% sure nobody would have anything against Alpine peak title as that is no dispute whatsoever. Btw looking at fun facts: are you aware that Slovenians and Dutch were in the same country much longer (500 years in Holy roman Empire from cca 855 till cca 1350) then for example Slovenians and Serbs (70 years- from 1918 till 1991)?

Was het makkelijk om de weg te vinden van de startplek naar de top van triglav? Hoe heb je de route bijgehouden of je juist aan het lopen was, ik denk dat het makkelijk is om zo een rode bol te missen? ++ is de weg terug naar beneden dezelfde? Kom je op hetzelfde punt terug?
Hi Francis! Thanks voor je reactie! De weg naar de top is vrij makkelijk te vinden. De paden zijn duidelijk gemarkeerd en bewandeld en mocht je er eentje missen (gebeurd niet). Kom je op een andere kruising uit die je alsnog richting de top leidt. De Triglav is waar bijna elk pad wel een bordje naar toe heeft. Je moet je wel altijd afvragen, waar is het volgende streepje / rondje! Heb je er al 10 minuten geen gezien, dan zit je er wel vanaf :) Nogmaals, gebeurd niet. Er zijn meerdere wegen die je kan volgen, je kan eventueel dezelfde route terug, wij hebben ervoor gekozen om aan de andere kant eraf te gaan en richting de Vrisic Pass te lopen. Je kan de route zien aan het eind van de video. Een goede tip die ik je wil meegeven is met maps.me te gaan lopen, daar kan je je kaarten offline downloaden en kan je op elk moment terugzien op je telefoon waar je bent en welk pad je bent.
@@scholtyy289 Zalig! Ziet er top uit! Bedankt voor het snelle antwoord, was de beklimming / afdaling niet te zwaar? Ik kijk om het op 2 dagen te doen, 1 dag naar de top, dag 2 helemaal naar beneden + nog 3u naar andere glamping. Is dit haalbaar? Welke chalet hebben jullie daar geslapen? En hoe was die?
@@DegenBytes Ik vond het eigenlijk wel meevallen, ik deed hem na een kruisbandoperatie en vond hem goed te doen. Ik ben zelf dan 27 jaar oud en op zich wel fit. Het ligt er heel erg aan van waar je start. In principe is in 1x door naar de hut tot naast de top vanaf dat lake, aardig doorstappen en moet je heel vroeg beginnen.. het zou wel kunnen.
Oh en de huisjes staan in de filmpjes! Het zijn niet de beste bedden maar het eten is echt prima. Maar op dat moment vind je dan ook wel alles prima haha. Je moet trouwens online boeken!

Yes, that’s true. We did it without and with bagpacks. I recommend to take it with you if you have it your own. When it’s wet and slippery it’s dangerous. But it was dry without any hard wind. So more people choose to do it without. It’s possible but you can’t predict the weather in the mountains.

Hi Neznanec, I don’t know if some rules changed, but I asked the cabins where we slept back then if it was okay and it was ok. I didn’t see any signs and on the software there wasn’t a no fly zone. I hope they made it more clear for now
@@scholtyy289 well they gave you the wrong information. most people don't know if it's legal or not if they are not pilots or park rangers. it's illegal for a few years now. Please check the rules, especially in national parks. if you google Triglav national park drones, you get an answer in seconds.
