  • An interview of Boris Wild, renowned magician and World Champion of Magic. In this second magician interview, we delve inside the mind of Boris Wild and hear his thoughts regarding magic in general as well as behind-the-scenes info on his recent performance on Penn & Teller's Fool Us season 7 2020. Boris Wild is a French magician who recently became a Fooler Winner with his amazing card magic and his entertaining deep fake Penn voice concept. In this interview, there are a few fun extras as well: we take a closer look at the FU trophy itself, and we even have Boris interpret an Aesop's fable. :)

** I personally use these items below for filming my videos!
📷 My Main Camera (fast autofocus): amzn.to/2MwhPEA
🎥 Lens for "talking to the camera" (great bokeh): amzn.to/2MtgAWQ
💡 Powerful Light (helps video quality): amzn.to/2QOTFcw
👍 Soft Box (for that nice soft light on your face): amzn.to/2NriW99
    🎙 Microphone with arm: amzn.to/33xgV3x
    Extra equipment
    🔵 Tripod for camera: amzn.to/2U1O8Ri
    🔵 Light Stand: amzn.to/3aawnoM
This light stand is kinda not sturdy enough because the light and soft box are so large; the whole thing can tip over easily. But it's what I use! 😆 Or you can perhaps find another light stand that is rated to hold more weight. Or just put something heavy (like sandbags) onto the bottom to lower the center of gravity.
-- AESOP'S FABLES book -- In case you want to follow along. :) This version looks almost identical, but I see mine was published in 2014 and has a bear on the front cover. I believe it's the exact same concept though. A fun little book with thought-provoking stories from long ago.

Second magician interview video! Woohoo! 🙌 BTW, in the Description section I added chapter time codes, so you can jump to any part of the interview directly. This video is almost an hour, so I recommend making yourself a nice dinner... simply sitting back... and enjoying the entire experience. Treat yourself to some good quality time relaxing and learn some insights from this entertaining and world-famous magician. :)

Especially Richard Turner….dudes got god level of skills while being BLIND and seems like he’d chill with a random person without rushing them along. So with that being said…what can the magician community do about Criss Angel?? That would be one of the best magic tricks in history-😬

NEVER has the world seen Penn’s jaw DROP so wide in shock at the final reveal of the magic effect! Not to mention the genius of the trick and using the voice. But that jaw drop with Teller just nodding in defeat, THAT was a triumph in magic!!!

this is the most stunning interview I have ever seen, he explained so much about the back stage of fool us and I would have never thought that fool us is so honest in so many ways, also towards the coming magicians and in so many aspects perfectly organized to become an authentic experience for everyone AND it became clear that his act was really a performance with skill and good psychology, completely shocked me, as this was one of the shows where I really was convinced, that this MUST have been in parts with some fake, WHICH, what I had thought, is here and there normal at such TV shows, but as we heard first, they are extremly professional and honest at all moments. And Wild is so nice and honest that now I anyway wouldn't have thought anymore about tiny fakes, after hearing him generally talking here. Just amazing and his trick just mindblowing. (I want to emphasize that I have not thought before, that his trick was a big fake, just a tiny thing could be fake I had thought.)

The books he mentioned are all very good. Cyrano de Bergerac has been done a few times as movies. A 1950 version with Jose Ferrer is considered the best, but many like a modernized update with comedian Steve Martin titled Roxanne (1987). The second one, Dead Zone, is a Steven King novel, also made into a movie. The third, about The Twilight Zone, a classic TV series original created by Rod Serling.

I don't think Léa Kyle speaks English well enough to do an interview without an interpreter.

@@anthonyfronis7979 Fair enough, but even needing someone to interpret, it would be nice to have a conversation with her about her performance.

He seemed to really divert your attention on the video cuts to the first non-important cut of opening the sealed cards, spending all the time talking about that one whilst really brushing over the 'other cuts' that were made. It still leaves the question: Did they cut out a part of his performance that was CRUCIAL to the success of his trick? I wish you had asked him this question. He never answered it directly, he just talked about them maybe cutting out important parts because they aren't magicians, but never said IF they did with his, which leads me to think that they DID and he just doesn't want to say because it might harm the earning potential of this 'impossible' trick.

Cannot believe the AI-explanation because Siri sounds not even close to the perfection of Penns voice.

It’s a very clean version of the effect. Have you read any of the other published versions? The version he does is not published as of now though. Eric is writing a book on Tim Conover’s magic (whose version Eric performed). That’s as much as I’ll say on a post though. Don’t want to expose the method as it is not mine to share but damn is it a perfect version of a classic!
