- čas přidán 22. 05. 2024
- An interview of Boris Wild, renowned magician and World Champion of Magic. In this second magician interview, we delve inside the mind of Boris Wild and hear his thoughts regarding magic in general as well as behind-the-scenes info on his recent performance on Penn & Teller's Fool Us season 7 2020. Boris Wild is a French magician who recently became a Fooler Winner with his amazing card magic and his entertaining deep fake Penn voice concept. In this interview, there are a few fun extras as well: we take a closer look at the FU trophy itself, and we even have Boris interpret an Aesop's fable. :)

--- Camera / Recording Equipment ---
** I personally use these items below for filming my videos!
📷 My Main Camera (fast autofocus): amzn.to/2MwhPEA
🎥 Lens for "talking to the camera" (great bokeh): amzn.to/2MtgAWQ
💡 Powerful Light (helps video quality): amzn.to/2QOTFcw
👍 Soft Box (for that nice soft light on your face): amzn.to/2NriW99
🎙 Microphone with arm: amzn.to/33xgV3x
Extra equipment
🔵 Tripod for camera: amzn.to/2U1O8Ri
🔵 Light Stand: amzn.to/3aawnoM
This light stand is kinda not sturdy enough because the light and soft box are so large; the whole thing can tip over easily. But it's what I use! 😆 Or you can perhaps find another light stand that is rated to hold more weight. Or just put something heavy (like sandbags) onto the bottom to lower the center of gravity.
-- AESOP'S FABLES book -- In case you want to follow along. :) This version looks almost identical, but I see mine was published in 2014 and has a bear on the front cover. I believe it's the exact same concept though. A fun little book with thought-provoking stories from long ago.

Second magician interview video! Woohoo! 🙌 BTW, in the Description section I added chapter time codes, so you can jump to any part of the interview directly. This video is almost an hour, so I recommend making yourself a nice dinner... simply sitting back... and enjoying the entire experience. Treat yourself to some good quality time relaxing and learn some insights from this entertaining and world-famous magician. :)
Also, special shout-out to John Prata! He is a member of my Patreon group who initially suggested my name to Boris Wild, who then proceeded to contact me, and thus was born this interview. Thanks John!! John's Instagram is: badrobot64
The thumbnail made me think that you were interviewing Penn! Lol! I clicked so fast!
"I added chapter time codes, "
i think everyone should just watch the whole thing, cause its awesome. but i did want to point out the only timecode i see in the description is 00:00 lol
Great interview, again. Looking forward to the next one.
You didnt know who "Cyrano de Bergerac" is?!?
And Stephen King's "Dead Zone"....
Dude.... first shawn now boris...
This just keeps getting better and better
Not only an amazing magician but also a nice and humble person. I wish I could see more of Boris work.
The same thing happened to me as did with Farquhar interview. First thought:"56 minutes, oh no way". But in the end "it stopped already?"
Very entertaining!
Thanks so much :)
Boris is very well spoken, and great questions were asked!
Boris is even cooler than I imagined! How about Chris Ramsay, Eric Leclerc, Wes Barker and Alex Boyer?
Sure I'm up for that! :)
Most magicians seem genuinely awesome people no joke. Especially Richard Turner….dudes got god level of skills while being BLIND and seems like he’d chill with a random person without rushing them along. So with that being said…what can the magician community do about Criss Angel?? That would be one of the best magic tricks in history-😬
Fantastic interview and Boris what an incredible and beautifully entertaining performance that was on Fool Us. NEVER has the world seen Penn’s jaw DROP so wide in shock at the final reveal of the magic effect! Not to mention the genius of the trick and using the voice. But that jaw drop with Teller just nodding in defeat, THAT was a triumph in magic!!!
Thank you Jason for this channel, I can't wait for the interview you are amazing
Thanks Mehdi :)
Boris is a true master! And always so kind and generous!
Luv these interviews Jason ! Keep em coming 🙌🏻🇬🇧
Une superbe interview, merci a toi Boris et Jason of course :)
Excellent entrevue, merci Jason and Boris! That was very entertaining.
Very nice of you Jason to invite magicians for an interview! It's always great to hear their story and to know how they felt throught this experience. Keep it up!
Congrats for interviewing Boris. Well done.👌🏼
What a cool interview! I dunno who I would vote to do next but I know I'm gonna love it.
Its always good to hear the beginnings, views, and life of the magician.
Very cool, thanks for posting.
Recently found your channel so I'm just watching so much of your back catalog. Well done sir!
Adam Cheyer, the co-creator of Siri, has been on Fool Us himself. You might want to check it out. Also, you've already reacted to a young female magician named Zoe Lafleur on the channel. Adam Cheyer is her uncle. So, it seems like the co-creator of Siri and Fool Us has crossed path in more than one occasion!
By the way I already filmed the interview with him... and just need to find the time to edit it!! :)
this is great, always nice to see more open communications with a great act.
Very nice interview ! A real pleasure to watch !
C'est un plaisir de voir deux passionnés échanger.
Love the interviews! So interesting!
You really have a great thing going here, Jason. Love if these interview segments would become a regular thing. Best wishes 😊
I hope so too!
This was a really good interview and Boris was a lot of fun. You did a good job when you spoke with Shawn but it feels like you took what you learned with that interview and improved to make this one even better. Good job, Jason!
This is awesome! Really getting into Boris’s mind
Wow, you're a great interviewer! kept me so interested I never noticed it was almost an hour long interview.
Great interview! Boris is so positive, kept me smiling all the time 👍
Very good! Great interview!
Wow, I've been a huge fan of Shawn Farquhar and Boris Wild for quite some time and now you have interviewed both, what a treat! By the way, Cyrano de Bergerac was made into a movie, starring Gérard Depardieu, well worth watching. There was also an American adaptation, called Roxanne, with Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah, also a fun 'feel good' movie. :) This information of course also giving away my general age bracket! Keep up the good work, really enjoying your channel!
Hey Tom thanks for the information and background! I will add them to my movie queue :) 🙏
Well done Jason your very entertaining and charming .... looking forward for more to come.
This technology is quite concerning though, I must say.
loved the fable and I need to go measure my hand
I cant wait
Great interview! My palm it's bigger than my fingers ✋
Love your work !!!
Thank you so much 😀
Wonderfull Jason !!! Keep up dude...
Excellent interview.
Loved this guys!! Thank you lol. Very nice long interview-and you both have such fantastic smiles 😁! Really enjoyed it, (and the quick way to say it lol-"Oh-vwah"! 😜👍💜).
ooooh thanks... that pronunciation helps me a lot! :)
Looking forward to seeing you on Fool Us Jason :)
100K subscribers upcoming ... good work, Jason! 💪🏻
I just noticed where your subs are at..almost at that 100k mark bro that's too awesome!!!
Thank you jason parker. I like boris wild a lot. He's performance is outstanding. He is so smooth and so clean.
Woww great interview! Great content!
Hey Jason, you are a great interviewer. Really nice video. Thanks¡¡
Great interview!
Boris is one of the finest people, I was allowed to met (at the german magic symposium) - thank you for the interview Jason
Edit: my palm is also a bit bigger than the length of my fingers
I now know how much the Producers are involved in helping the performers.
Present! My phone broke last week but I'm here! First video to watch is my idol Jason's video so entertaining. Thank you jason for the interview. We love you. BTW my palm is taller than my fingers. Thanks again idol!
this is the most stunning interview I have ever seen, he explained so much about the back stage of fool us and I would have never thought that fool us is so honest in so many ways, also towards the coming magicians and in so many aspects perfectly organized to become an authentic experience for everyone AND it became clear that his act was really a performance with skill and good psychology, completely shocked me, as this was one of the shows where I really was convinced, that this MUST have been in parts with some fake, WHICH, what I had thought, is here and there normal at such TV shows, but as we heard first, they are extremly professional and honest at all moments. And Wild is so nice and honest that now I anyway wouldn't have thought anymore about tiny fakes, after hearing him generally talking here. Just amazing and his trick just mindblowing. (I want to emphasize that I have not thought before, that his trick was a big fake, just a tiny thing could be fake I had thought.)
When r we going to see you in P&T????
Jason, I just posted a link to your interview with Boris. It was concerning this very trick. Hope you don't mind and thank you so much for bringing us magicians such great content and interviews!
Very cool interview. He seems like a good person. An alien that’s down to earth lol. I have small hands and my palm is bigger than my fingers. Great video, thank you.
Boris is a beast!!
Keep up the good work Jason! My two girls, 5 & 8, request your videos. Literally, the only CZcams channel I watch regularly that they will watch with me!
Love how you have showcased women of magic! Also each time the girls watch your intro, “Wow, how’d he do that?!”
Then we okay card games and my 5 year old will spread the deck on the table. Lol.
Thanks Patrick! And really cool you all watch the videos together. :) I'm glad your daughters enjoy them! :)
@@JasonParkerMagic the girl’s are so excited of your reply! Thanks my man! :)
The first book Boris is talking about is Cyrano de Bergerac, from Edmond Rostand. It is a fantastic play written in verse that I love too 🙂 Edit: I have just read on Wikipedia that this play is responsible for introducing the word "panache" into the English language 😄
Very nice and interesting interview by the way 🙏🏻
Soo good
The books he mentioned are all very good. Cyrano de Bergerac has been done a few times as movies. A 1950 version with Jose Ferrer is considered the best, but many like a modernized update with comedian Steve Martin titled Roxanne (1987). The second one, Dead Zone, is a Steven King novel, also made into a movie. The third, about The Twilight Zone, a classic TV series original created by Rod Serling.
thanks I will try watching the 1950's version! :) I know about twilight zone of course... but didn't know about this extensions book. pretty cool. And yeah I didn't know about dead zone at all! haha
@@JasonParkerMagic Jose Ferrer was great. Also the father of Miguel Ferrer.
@@JasonParkerMagic There is also a French movie version of Cyrano de Bergerac made in 1990 that is critically acclaimed and won a Golden Globe award for Best Foreign Language film. I haven't seen it myself, and the only English option may be through subtitles.
@@l.riggins1857 Well, given that half the point of the book/play is that it is written in alexandrines (poem where each line is 12 syllables with a beat on 6th and 12th), there's nothing like Gérard Depardieu belting the original french lines like uh... like Cyrano, in the 1990's french version.
@@Malfehzan Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and see the 1990 French version. There are always subtleties missed or changed when you change languages.
I wonder if this will become the Joe Rogan podcast for Magicians. That would be cool.
3-5yrs from now, The Jason Parker of Podcasts! Who knows, life is full of surprises. hehehe
Great interview
thanks :)
Yoooooo, Garret plssssssss. I thing he would love for what he talks there in FU!!!. Nice job bro, u are AWESOME! Hugs from BRAZIL heeere!
Greatness
I just finished reading the Dead Zone. Good book.
Palm is bigger than my fingers. Lol
This is going to be great!
Any word on when we're getting another installment with Shawn Farquhar?
No current ETA... but I have not forgotten! :)
That was pretty cool. I really enjoyed his take on the fable, too. In a salesman role, it's nice to be able to conform to persons personality. My voice and vocabulary will match the person I'm speaking with. Yes, that can get you into trouble. Too bad you're a supernova now... but you'll be a new baby galaxy soon! Lol, I'm only here for the outros apparently.
hahaha... I love that you appreciate the outros... :)
Great interview!
Can the trophy be hand carried on the plane? It looked sharp!
The fingers looked really long!
Palms are usually longer.
That was a very good and funny one.
I guess Ondřej Pšenička is like to do that too. Maybe 🙃
He's a very interesting chap - Science Fiction and Mystery Fiction is a fantastic way to set your mind free from the constraints of reality and consider a world with endless possibilities; his favourite books was a good question; I'd love to hear more about the creative process for other magicians in the future.
Also, my Palm is slightly larger than my fingers and remember what you have in common; playing cards! A common element can be a good _measuring stick_ 😉
Ohhhh what a great idea!!! Yes... good point... we could have easily measured our fingers using playing cards. hahah... I will remember that. Thank you. :)
Please try to interview Penn and/or Teller next.
If you can contact either and recommend they interview with me... that's probably the way to do it! :-)
Curious how you got such a clean signal from Boris. Did you have him record on his end and send you the file? It looks great.
is it possible to have the uncut video? it would be great!
I wish I was a Producer on Fool Us. They know all the secrets. Also he's a genuine down to earth humble guy with some of the best cars tricks I've ever seen. Lastly, deep fake tech is going to be the end of civilization
I actually found your channel by searching for Aesops fables as i used to have a book as a child. Awesome channel!!!
Thanks man!! :)
I like your channel!
THANKS!!
Boris Wild is great, so glad to see him win Fool Us. His thinking on the m**ked deck is genius. :-)
so in the end there were a lot of cuts in the fool us performance?
34:30 Teller needs a graphics processor.
Also, Jason, you remember the old Budweiser commercials where the three frogs said, "Bud," and, "Wise," and, "Er"? The Cheshire Cat is the same way. Chesh-ERR!
Not sure how I know that, somebody told me, maybe. 😜
28hours is to long I need my Jason park fix nowwwwww
I took from your fable reading that the bat could have gotten away from the bird munching weasel and the mouse munching weasel by being honest and saying it was not a bird or a mouse, rather a bat.
Just my take on the fable reading.
Good interview with Boris!
Adam from Apple was also on Fool us and his niece as well -
Sauvage = Savage = Wild!
did you eventually make it onto the show itself? Did i miss information?
Nope... not much to report on that front for now...
55:22 i died laughing
To be fair, I don't know if taking off the cellophane is necessarily _that_ important. There are plenty of effects that involve finding a marked card inside a sealed deck :P The cellophane might mean something to the layman, but it shouldn't mean much to anyone familiar with magic.
My palm is approx 120% the length of my fingers. Learning to palm stuff will surely be a cinch.
How about an interview of Shin Lim?
If you can contact him and recommend he interviews with me... that's probably the way to do it! :-)
Lol. My fingers are shorter than my palm. Have we decided which is "normal"? Lol
Did you already watch Mathieu Bich on Fool Us season 1 or 2 ?
can u react to asi wind trick on penn and teller fu pls thats my fav trick
Jason should go on AGT or Fool Us
Top five I'd like to see you interview:
Léa Kyle
Miranda Allen
Jandro
Keith Kong
Vincenzo Ravina
I don't think Léa Kyle speaks English well enough to do an interview without an interpreter.
@@anthonyfronis7979 Fair enough, but even needing someone to interpret, it would be nice to have a conversation with her about her performance.
he has the elusive FFFF pin ^^
My fingers are shorter than my palm.
He's a alien 👽
😆
My plan is bigger then my fingers 😅 so am I on the freak side 🥲
He seemed to really divert your attention on the video cuts to the first non-important cut of opening the sealed cards, spending all the time talking about that one whilst really brushing over the 'other cuts' that were made. It still leaves the question: Did they cut out a part of his performance that was CRUCIAL to the success of his trick? I wish you had asked him this question. He never answered it directly, he just talked about them maybe cutting out important parts because they aren't magicians, but never said IF they did with his, which leads me to think that they DID and he just doesn't want to say because it might harm the earning potential of this 'impossible' trick.
Cannot believe the AI-explanation because Siri sounds not even close to the perfection of Penns voice.
I vote for PIFF!
Dude have you seen Eric Meads cylinder and coins? I can't figure any part of that out haha
It’s a very clean version of the effect. Have you read any of the other published versions? The version he does is not published as of now though. Eric is writing a book on Tim Conover’s magic (whose version Eric performed). That’s as much as I’ll say on a post though. Don’t want to expose the method as it is not mine to share but damn is it a perfect version of a classic!
My palm is longer
My middle finger is 1/4 shorter than my palm
Can you watch carefully from this magicians dump bunch of card in table and he manage by his hand and tap deck of card and penn chosen same card and pick it up and give this magicians this is setup and big layers this magicians wow 😮
I think you forgot to add mire in your Table of Content.
Thanks yes, I have fixed this now! :)
there is a cool french scifi movie fantastic planet you might like
Palm just a little "longer" than fingers. BTW
This seems to be the case for most people so far...
