    This was great! I'm a PGY4 in psych in Philly. Even though I'm done with medical school, it was still nice to learn about your journey! And I'll share this with some mentees as well!

    the face you made about having subway = priceless!!! hahahha (i can relate!)
    few questions if you dont mind:
    1. how many hours do carribean school students study per day?
    2. are there any off days?
    3. how are tests designed? i heard they are made super hard to weed people out and then grade on a curve (at least st.george does)
    4. how many people start with your class, but actually wind up graduating?
    5. do loans cover all costs of living? is there left over? or do you need more?
    6. especially to travel for your rotations, hotels, cars, food etc. (even going to different states)
    and then not so important but would like answer to:
    4. do you have to dress professional in the island? or regular clothes?
    5. what happens when you need to see a doctor and dentist? how is the cost covered?
    6. how do you get all your basic needs? like deodarant, toothpaste, etc. are they expensive?
    sorry for all the questions but would appreciate an actual live person answer instead of SDN bander.
    thnks again!

    Hi Dr. Curtis. Thank you for this video. Can you do a video on how to prepare/succeed/pass MERP?

    • @doctorcurtiso.7853
      @doctorcurtiso.7853  Před 4 lety +1

      It’ll be tough to do a video on it due to time restraints but I can’t stress enough using your professors during MERP to have an idea of what they like and how they like to write questions. That would pay off huge if you do that, that way you have an idea how you should study. Everybody studies differently so its ahrd to comment on that but using your professor is big in my opinion. You can also try groups to see how other people view information.

    What's good Dr. O? I've been following your IG for a minute now and would pass you from time to time at MC. I was a scribe in the ER and just left recently to focus on the MCAT. I have a similar story like yours with being a knucklehead lol. I'm a non-traditional applicant and recently got accepted into a master's program. Now I hate the What-If's just as much as you do, however lets say ya boy don't get in at the end of the master's program, which has a linkage to a DO school btw. Would you recommend the Caribbean route, especially after STEP 1 has now become Pass/Fail? I was told by a few ER docs and some hospitalists to steer clear of Caribbean schools. Thanks for the awesome content and big inspiration for me!
