- MV Alfred berthing at Brodick discharging for the first time
MV Alfred arrived at Brodick at noon and discharged the passengers and vehicles once berthed.
The vessel loaded and departed on time at 12:55 with a lot of BBC and STV cameras watching, and a number of onlookers as well. :-)
@davetheraverovingtherock
It's a very interesting looking ship.
Cannot wait to travel on her!
Bob could well be a better Managing Director of CalMac than currently…. He would certainly care. Good to see him… It didn’t look the easiest of berthings, but they got the job done… Sounds like you could have a bit of competition ‘Roving the Rock’ Dave?… Thanks for sharing. We might be lucky enough to sail on Alfred when we come up at the end of this month…
Ha ha, yes. Bob is great. And he's keen. He has ideas and wants to be heard :-) Still going strong at 80 and been on Arran and at his current address since the War.
Is that Caledonian McBrayne? I seem to remember there livery darker, but was like 20years since I travelled on them.
On hire from Pentland Ferries so thats their colour scheme.
@@jimmcintosh9045 cheers 👍
So why no catering onboard. A half competent Government/Shipping Company would have invited local entrepreneurs to tender to provide teas/coffee/rolls etc for the two weeks. Why nit put the proceeds towards Arran charities. Absolutely crass and reflects the non-business approach of this garbage SG.
