Timber barge CEG Cosmos in action Brodick pier Isle of Arran

The timber barge CEG Cosmos today in action loading from the Arran Haulage lorries at Brodick pier, Isle of Arran.
Unlike the last video footage I had on this procedure, this time the Liebherr excavator-grabber is positioned on top of the barge instead of at the edge of the East berth.
It is fascinating to see the skill and power at play here
I still don't know how it got up there...that's something for next time! :-)

They must have a ramp near the dock to drive the excavator on the barge to load the logs and the poles on the trailer with the logs are call bolsters

I see she is now moored at Workington unloading its Cargo looking on Google St from the road near the docks there is massive pile of timber in view

The lorries will only be carrying 28/29 tonnes. The 360 grab crane is a permanent part of the ship. It will have different buckets for different cargoes

Yes, 44 tonnes total including the load and the lorry
