Can we all agree on how good Ben Affleck is in this movie. He is such a underrated actor.
This movie was so good. They need to make a sequel to it
They really do forreal
100%
They green lit one a long time ago but nothings happened, its been stagnant in imdb ever since, not long after this movie i think he started having problems with alcohol and went to rehab or something, not sure if it had something to do with it.
YES! THANK YOU!
Some good movies need to be left alone. A lot of sequels fuck things up!
I like that movie. As an autistic person myself, I liked the portrayal of Ben Affleck's autistic character. You know I had to go through desensitization myself similar to what Ben Afleck's character went through with the flashing lights and music. When I was more severe, I couldn't go to stores, birthday parties or huge gatherings without screaming at some point because of the volume of the noise and other sensory stuff. Hell I could not listen to music in the car without screaming so my mom would instead of turning the music off when I screamed she left it on. I screamed and I screamed but mom did not fold knowing that by me being desensatized that I will be able to have better sensory tolerance. Now fast forward to now, I love heavy metal so I can safely say that it worked for me at least. However, I wouldn't say that I don't have sensory issues but there are not as debilitating as they once were.
One more thing I want to say is that people say that autistic people are not empathetic or they are cold. I would say that not is half accurate but I will say that autistic people are people of extremes we can be really emotional and then be extremely logical. And this can be fluid depending on the situation. Anyways I have rambled long enough and I thank those who have been reading this. Hope y'all find this enlightening!
thank you
Interesting post. Thanks
My heart goes out to you. My niece is autistic, she's absolutely adorable.
As someone with autism, I can fully sympathize as I had similar experiences as a child. For example, I couldn’t attend school assemblies without noise canceling headphones. Your statements regarding those with autism I would are spot on my friend.
Blessings on you. You keep going and you stay with us. You are holding a higher virbration
A first-class film with first-class actors and I'm actually glad that it didn't become a film for the masses. This film addresses some things that many people tend to push to the sidelines.
12:40 Notice how in this scene Christian’s speech patterns become more “normal” and he is much more emotionally engaged in the conversation, because he’s talking about something that truly interests him. As someone on the autistic spectrum, I very much appreciate this nuanced depiction of the character.
*I am in process of buying a new mic so please excuse the audio everyone. Nonetheless I hope you all enjoy our reaction*
Yeti is a great mic that isn't too expensive if that matters to you, cheers G
Yeah I rock a yeti mic when gaming, def a good one for the price 100-150 range.
Your good bro! I’m here for it!
You aiight bruh
You got a patron Devin?
its criminal that this movie is unknown to so many people its so damn good
This movie is so underrated and not talked about. It's a Great movie. Loved this reaction to one of my favorite movies.
its one of my all time favorite action movies. i think this and taken 1 were the best movies since 2000.
Hell yeah. Ben came with the true acting talent. I honestly think he was a tad bitter about how much people talked about Batman.
But not films he was passionate about. This and Live By Night.
I keep saying Sequel. This character is brilliant
as a guy on the spectrum this is one of the best portrayals of autism I say things that I don’t realize are upsetting or I just don’t care if people get upset
I always just thought it was everyone else that had a problem until my ncoic told me to go to a off base doc and talk about it
that's a very interesting perspective, thank you
@@drhorribly I really don’t want to be mean I just don’t realize that I can be blunt/insensitive I do care about people I just don’t know how to be normal
@@Hkfanboy I'm sure you do your best and that's all anyone can ask for
I totally relate. (I'm autistic)
I'm often overly honest.
I'm really not trying to be rude or hurt anyone's feelings.
I'm just making an observation based on objective reality.
And that offends some people.
The scene where the mom left hit hard for me, having gone through a very similar scenario with my "wife". Here I am 3 years later with my son who has aspergers. I couldn't imagine leaving him knowing how much he needs and depends on me. Dont get me wrong it gets very tough on times, but thats life. We play the hand we are dealt. You make the best of what you got. That aside, great reaction, Devin & co.
Can't imagine the feeling of betrayal when she left. Blessings on you for strength.
You're a hell of a good father. Keep it up!
Anna Kendrick plays a swispy little gal so well. I usually don't find her characters interesting, but this movie is amazing
The wave he gives after killing the guy to the couple is gold
It was a great ROFL moment for me.
The scene where Jon Bernthal´s character says to Ben Affleck´s "Say when and were, I´ll be there." "I´ll find you." is where this movie went from good to great for me. Despite all that happened they were still brothers and cared about each other.
Jon Bernthal is really good here, as usual.
Great reaction guys. This is a very underrated movie but I love it, one of Ben Affleck's best performances in my humble opinion.
I swear Devin always picks hidden gems in the film industry. This one is severely underrated!!! 🔥
That Pollack painting in 2006 sold at auction for 150 million dollars. I believe it was painted in 1946.
😯😯💯💸💸
The main guy had his male partner killed so he could frame him. Remember, he told Christian he knew his partner would not make a mistake w/his meds, alluding that he must have killed himself out of guilt from stealing. He needed Christian to stop looking thru the books, so his excuse was feeling sad over his partner’s death and forgiving whatever he did. Then, when he saw Christian would not stop, he wanted everyone who knew of the discrepancy to be killed before he was found out. That incl the woman partner, Dana and Christian. Excellent film! You guys make a super-adorable couple too.
Love this movie! The flashbacks are so good. Tough love from the father but love. Family first. Taking them to stand up to the bullies scene was just so perfect.
This movie is so underrated. Its SO GOOD! You're the first one I subscribe to that has actually given it a chance. Great reaction!
I always love it when you both get together for a viewing, and what a gem you picked. Thanks for that.
Btw, the average Pollock painting goes for 50 million. Sometimes lower, sometimes way higher, but generally around 50-60 million (U$).
🤪🤪🤪🤔🙈
Some people have more money than sense, a three year old could do better, modern art ? does nothing for me. 👎🤣🤣🤣
One of my favorite serious movies he has done. His performance was so intense
Ben Affleck is a great actor but I think he is one of the best directors i wish Ben would make a second one of these we need the accountant 2
I saw this at the theater and liked it so well I stayed for a second showing of it. What I like about it is it seems so different different than other action movies, all of the characters and the autism aspect put a whole new spin on an action film and made it really interesting.
Excellent review. I like the fact that while to most people who hated movies that move to slow dragging scenes too long this movie will shock them. Worth rewatching again which I just did. Can't wait for the sequel to come out next year.
Glad someone finally reacted to this. One of my favorite movies. Feel like there should be a sequel.
This is an amazing movie. They've been working on the sequel for a long time. Hope it works out.
Y'all are a cute couple. It was a great reaction, and I agree with the others. This movie really needs a sequel.
If you liked that one, you might like "Pay Check" staring Ben Afleck and Uma Thurman.
ok, first off, you two are ADORABLE! This is one of my wife's and my favorite movies, so glad to see you react to it. Can't wait for the next one!
I think the reason this film is underrated is because it falls in a weird but great place yes it's a hard hitting action flick but all the characters and plot are extremely complex you have to pay close attention in every scene to understand the plot and characters making it such a brilliant thriller.
When I first heard Ben Affleck was gonna play Batman in Batman vs Superman I wasn't thrilled but he did a surprisingly good job in that role too. Loved this movie and your reaction.
An underrated gem. There were rumors of a sequel a few years back, but doesn't look like it will happen.
14:52 Notice that the father is reading Jakarta Times. Jakarta is the capitol of Indonesia, birthplace of Pentjak Silat, one of the most brutal martial arts in the world, as shown in The Raid movies.
Ooh, a GREAT movie! You're the first I've seen to do a reaction to this film... One of my favorite movies and very underrated!
This movie is so underrated! It’s such a great movie.
The company owner stole the money - then over time he was returning it and it set off a red flag so his sister hired the Accountant to find out what was going on. The Owner could see that the Accountant had his number and knew that if he didn't kill him and his own sister and best friend that he himself would go to prison.
26:58 I really liked Affleck as Batman. But I freaking love him as The Accountant.
Dang we need a sequel!!
It's coming out next year.
I love this movie and I wish they would make a sequel. I knew Devin would have so many "eeeewwwww weeeeees!" in this one.
This movie came out of nowhere and knocked me the f out. If you ain't a Affleck fan, this will change that
Being an Autistic individual, this is one of my special moment films. This not only shows how our minds work, but how dangerous we can be.
no such thing a disabilities only abilities the only disabilities we have are the ones we make make you "disability" be your advantage make your disability you ability
Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, wed on a Wednesday, took ill on Thursday, got worse on Friday, died on a Saturday, buried on Sunday, that was the end of Solomon Grundy.
That was very likely Ben Affleck's addition, he's a Batman fan. Even though Solomon Grundy is technically a Green Lantern character.
We think this is Ben Affleck's best movie where he's the lead. I think that Jackson Pollack painting would be worth like $50 million.
I love this movie, glad you guys did it. Not many do, very underrated. She was never falling asleep to this.
Anna Kendrick's "I'm dating a neuro-atypical assassin" movie phase. This, and "Mr. Right".
I like the reaction chemistry of you two. Look forward to more joint reactions.
This was a great movie, but what really made this is y'alls reaction and chemistry.
Thank you!
Movie needs a sequel. So well done and clever
"The Accountant" persona is actually based on a real guy, SGM Mike Vining. He was an EOD who became one of the original Delta Force Operators. Dude is still around, too. He actually resurfaced recently. He was known as "The Accountant" in the circles he ran in for his looks. His visage has been stolen by many movies including this one, Sicario (Steve Forsing character), Predator (Hawkins character), etc.
The most expensive Pollock painting sold at auction was like $140 million or something.
Have two boys on the spectrum. Dcf called 23 times. Police reports 6 times. People love to make accusations based on opinions. Good thing professionals and police helped us.
Wonderful Reaction 💕 It's a great movie. Not unnecessarily long and every loose end was sewn up nicely ✨😊🥂
That Jackson Pollock piece is worth an estimated £50M - $100M.🙏
Ive been waiting years for The Accountant 2! Filming starts in Oct.24 fr 2025 release! Bout time as one of my fave movies! Seen it 4x now. Never gets old! Very cool.👍🙏
No shit?
You enjoyed another great movie by the same director about another set of brothers. Warriors. These are 2 great movies. Thx for the great reaction.
My thought about this movie is what does an accountant do? He balances the books.
That elderly couple had to be thinking "Who TF is our sweet, helpful accountant?!"
This is one of the best reactions... EVER... and you 2 are to cute together... you guy's are not forced.... you are naturally in sinc.... not many people have that.... love this... I'm just shaking my head in awe and wonder.... wow .... man you guy's made my night
Thank you so much!
I’m so excited for this reaction! I’m a CPA so I have extra love for this movie 😂
Lol. I’m from Deloitte so extra points to this movie for mentioning my Firm 😂
"Are you gonna fight?" Be careful what you wish for, Braxton.
Haven't been on the channel in a while man the Beard is looking fire 🔥
I love this Movie. It’s one of those movies you watch every time you find it on. I really enjoyed your review and reactions
18:28 That particular Pollock painting is worth at least 140-150 million.
at 5:50 you comment what is he doing. he is doing a technique used in advanced martial arts/Muay Thai where they use a roller or object to deaden the nerves in the shin to kick harder. Love the videos
What’s good Devin! Good movie!! 👊
Definitely!!
Ben Affleck has played Batman & Daredevil, which are both action movies
4:45 yeah there are levels of background checks required based on your job. I think that is why she was always an analyst and never applied for agent. Her juvenile records are sealed and would not be looked at in a background check for her to be an analyst however if she applied for agent they would look into them and find out she lied on her application to be an analyst.
5:38 It is not that you cant turn your life around it is that you cant lie about your history especially when it is a felony offense as she is committing perjury.
There are aspects of Ben Afleck's character in this movie that remind me of the character he portrays in "Daredevil". Nice reaction.
finally somebody reacting to this movie. i'm on the spectrum and this must be my favourite portray of an autistic person.
thank you so much
Stephanie is good reacting-attentive, all-around. Y'all's together comments...good!-Ernie Moore Jr.
"The Sum of All Fears" should be on your list. It is the fourth Jack Ryan movie with Ben Affleck as a younger Jack Ryan then the other movies. So it's kind of a prequel to "The Hunt for Red October", "Patriot Games" and "A Clear and Present Danger". If you haven't seen any, it is a great series to watch.
I love how you both smiled when Anna came in!
You two are perfect for each other. Be Blessed
Aww y'all are great! I love watching y'all react to movies! Also we have the same birthday Devin!
Those two as a team would be insane!!
I was never a fan of him, but now I am a big fan. His portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman is what really changed my mind. The Accountant instantly became one of my fav movies. It's so well done.
Most people I know really started liking him after Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, or Pearl Harbor. Have you seen those? They're pretty good.
@@Overlord0011 yes, I have. While I enjoyed The Town and Daredevil, it wasn't until Batman that he really impressed. So many actors have done such a bad or boring job, I wasn't expecting much. He surprised.
@@buffmaloney Fair enough.
The rolling on the leg is a technique karate and martial arts masters use to toughen up the shins
So cute to see you guys together!
Underrated movie. I've always liked it, and own a copy of it.
The Punisher and Batman as long lost brothers 🤣😂
Too funny
Also J. Jonah Jameson and Arrowverse Amanda Waller in here as well.
Another great reaction! Such a good movie too. Keep it up and do more joint reactions more often.
I've been recommending this one to all kinds of movie reactors on just about every Bourne series reviews, so glad you guys checked it out! Great job by Ben. It doesn't hurt that my super crush is in this one too... 😜
While I don't particularly agree with how the dad tried to help Chris, he was at least trying to deal with it himself while helping Chris cope with it. His mom, on the other hand, tried to push the "problem" onto someone else and when that wasn't an option, she ran. All-in-all, I'd say the better parent raised him.
I really enjoyed that your girlfriend was with you, you guys are a good reacting team you should do it more often. I have seen this movie about 6 times.
An accountant with deadly combat skills who sells vintage comic books to fund his activities?
New Head Canon: This is a Kick-Ass prequel
Hey Steph! I missed you! Welcome back sister! Love you both! All the best ❤️❤️🇨🇦
OH HELL YES! I’ve been waiting for this one for soooo long! 👏👏👏🔥
Finally here 🙌🏾🙌🏾
You two are nice together. Watching your videos years ago seeing you now she still holding your arm that’s dope
He was skimming money from the company, holding the money, then reinvested it back into the company to increase the value before they went IPO. He killed his friend (the CFO) to frame him for the skimming. He killed his Sister because now that she knew something was going on, she would have kept digging. Love your videos. I have probably watched 10 of them today. LOL. I started with Gran Torino, then American History X. Keep up the great work. 👍👍
I’m Asperger, for years and years, I had opportunities to be with super beautiful girls, who always told me "you are sweet, attractive and intelligent,", I thought that was enough, the problem is that physical contact and being able to explain or talk about ourselves is very complicated, and that's why I lost them. I understand Cris' position, which is "I want to kiss you, help me, and I will be yours." Bless y’all
When you asked how much that painting is worth, it was an original Jackson Pollock. His paintings are almost never sold so pricing is difficult. Sold pieces range from 60 million to 200 million. He painted 360 ish paintings in his life and died at age 44.
Ben Affleck does some nice action in his movie Paycheck, too. Underrated and fun movie. Directed by John Woo. Amazingly, no one had done a reaction to Paycheck yet.
That painting is called Free Form. Created in 1946 by Jackson Pollock. While there isn't an exact value number since the original is in a museum, similar Pollock paintings have gone for around $100,000,000. So yeah that girl got a painting worth more than she has ever had lol
My had me watch this movie because she said it was the stupidest movie she ever saw and she wanted me to feel she pain. Her pain was doubled when I told her how much I loved it.
This, the John Wick franchise, Equalizer and Wrath of Man are some of the best action movies I've seen.
I haven't even pressed play and I'm excited. Today was one of those day people can go through where the world felt like it was dragging me down. Like I couldn't breath.
Thanks for helping me to be at ease for 33 mins. Hope you and your loved ones are doing amazing Devin! Thanks bro
I was having a similar type of day. Glad to know I could come home and enjoy another one of Devin’s reactions. Been watching his reactions ever since I was deployed and never stopped
20 :49 a zoomed-out map in your mind of what you think the area is like. Mark a person uses senses to track soeed-up slow-down, change direction...a person's intentions can be felt to thicken. There is a certain thickness level where someone decided. They still need to go through the motions even rethink or hesitate, so you can move to act before the finish, but after they'd decided to...is a thought--just seeing partial and might no know how he supposedly caught that.-Ernie Moore Jr.
You a real one for this! Loved this film.
My son is highly functioning autistic. They did a great job of showing some of the quirks associated. Fortunately he has overcome his social withdrawal and expressing emotions. I don't like labels but he's quite popular. He's very kind and has a great sense of humor.
yea they did a great job of portraying a part of the autism spectrum in this. not perfect, but atleast he isnt another idiot-savant.
and being on the spectrum myself, and having lived with 20 other people on the spectrum for nearly 10 years, i recognize alot of the traits in afleck's performance.
one of the things i like most about this performance is the way afleck behaves when he reunites with his brother, as if they just saw each other this morning.
30:27 this movie has is like DC and Marvel held a convention.
You got actors who played Daredevjil, Batman, the Punisher, Amanda Waller, Silk Spectre, Omni Man and J Jonah Jameson (JK Simmons).
Good point. Should have got more thumbs up and pin up!
Autistic people are extremely empathetic, they just don't express it the same way we do, and one of the reasons why is because they don't understand social cues. That why he's monotone. The raising and lowering of ones voice to indicate something that is not explicit, is a social cue that is often misunderstood by autistic individuals. Yelling to signify anger is also a social cue, but it is an explicit one, so it is understood more, hence him saying "you're angry" to the man getting visibly and audibly frustrated. That isn't to say that social cues which are more explicit arent misunderstood occasionally because they are of course. Those of us who aren't autistic make these mistake sometimes. Like sarcasm.
Some of us have a hard time catching sarcasm, even if we aren't autistic. It can be for a while wide range of reasons, whereas for autistic individuals it's usually because they lack a complex understanding of the relationship between the thing being talked about, and what is being said about it. For the rest of us, it could be because we don't know the person that well so we can't tell if they arr kidding, it could be an individual we do know very well but they are either always serious, but it could also be - in a more global sense - that sarcasm has become such a widespread linguistic reflex for, quite often, being sarcastic simply for the purpose.of being sarcastic - ie saying something outrageous for the souls purpose of saying something outrageous so you can then turn around and say "I'm kidding," whether you're actually joking or not.
Essentially it's used so often by everyone it's hard to tell when someone is kidding. But also, because some people say some really fucked up shit and are TOTALLY serious, which makes spotting something outrageous as sarcasm is even more difficult and less obvious.
The way I saw it was that the Dad left the kids upbringing to the wife, but Chris' issues made it too much for her to handle - pushing her to abandon them 😡. With her gone, the Dad had to step in and handle the situation his own way - having come from the military he took a direct approach.
Am I the only one who wanted Ben to take the woman with him as he drove away at the end
