- Whats up you guys!! Welcome or welcome back to my channel. Today I am watching the second making of the John Wick Sequel and I must say that that I thought the first John Wick was bad ass. The second was even better with more gun blazing, throat slicing, bone breaking scenes which you all know I love. Keanu Reeves does it again this time even better than before. He is on the hunt for vengeance and nothing will stop him.

Remember that Keanu Reeves is 53 during the filming of this movie. I saw a short clip of them making this movie online. During action, he is John Wick. He is flipping a guy and killing him on the ground. Moving as fast as a 20 year old! You hear, “Cut!” He instantly becomes Keanu Reeves. Breathing hard and bending over and grabbing his pants at the knees like, “I’m too old for this shit!” I feel ya Keanu!! I feel ya! 😂😂😂
Even being able to act it a bit is impressive. Honestly, a lot of 20 year olds would probably act that way after that much physical exertion, even in shape. It's often the person with the most stamina who wins a fight.
One of the many things I love about the John Wick franchise is how realistic the action seems. Perfect example, the fight between John Wick and the woman body guard. A six foot tall man who probably weighs at least 160 pounds, defeating a 5 foot something, 100 pound girl. Doesn't get any more realistic than that.

The Sommelier scene is probably my favorite equipment scene in all action films. It's so well written for the "hidden world" they've created.
The actor playing the manager of the Continental Hotel in Rome is OLD school. His name is Franco Nero. I believe he was the original Django.
Indeed he was. Did a cameo in Django Unchained and was the bad guy in Die hard 2 (well, on of the bad guys).

Best line of part 2 - "You stabbed the devil in the back, incinerated the priest temple, burnt it to the ground! Now he's free of the marker...what do you think he'll do next?". I had to add that little bit lol.
lil fyi and background regarding the marker and how it ties into the 1st movie. As we all know John worked for Viggo the boss in the 1st movie. John met Helen and he wanted out and asked Viggo to let him leave. Viggo knowing how John is and him being literally the best gave him an impossible task. Bc why tf would you let your best go that's bad for business and for you. The impossible task Viggo gave to John was to eliminate all of Tarasov's enemies in a single night. Knowing he couldn't do it alone, he sought aid/got it from Santino which in return for promised a marker, a blood oath that Santino could cash in whenever. Not certain whether he was the only one who would've helped John or if he asked others for assistance but as John put it it's not good when he owe someone, and from context clues Santino definitely wanted John in his back pocket. So knowing how the story goes and how Viggo put it in the 1st movie "the amount of bodies he buried that day laid the foundation for what we are".
I remember seeing this in theaters when it came out! Who would have thought a franchise made by Keanu Reeves and his stunt double in the Matrix would be so successful and brilliantly done?!
I remember the cheer in the theatre when he killed those dudes with a pencil
I remember seeing this particular John Wick in theaters, some guy had a stroke during the shootout scene after John kills Giana with all the concert strobe lights. They stopped the movie and carried him out.
Seizure, not stroke.

You can tell Keanu trained for real for this role. The way he handles the shotgun when selecting it at the beginning is exactly the way they do for speed loading in real competitions.
That's probably one of the most awesome depictions of a shotgun cleaning house that I've ever seen.

Peter Stormare, (The russian in the beginning) Plays a good guy in Hamilton from 1998. Carl Hamilton is a swedish covert ops military officer of some kind with navy background.
Nah, he kills it as the Devil in Constantine. Also a Keanu movie.
He was a good guy in Armageddon too...crazy...but not bad
Seen it mentioned somewhere before. Some people asked why John shot Gianna, and I think it was for two reasons:
1) John needed to do it because it was to finish the job.
2) John did her a favor according to her faith. Many Catholic teachings say suicide damns people to hell. Because John shot her as she bled out, probably before she stopped breathing or her heart stopped, he killed her so she didn't commit suicide.
Just some small interesting stuff I saw here and there about that scene.

What I loved about that drink they had after the first fight. That's the whole lesson in itself. Respect your enemy's skillset.
After John Wick 3, you should check out the equalizer. Its a good film and there isnt much reactions to that movie.
For me, it's superior to John Wick.
Equalizer is on par with Wick, Denzel the all time 🐐 great movies

They say that Keanu is one of the nicest people in Hollywood. I'd say he's also the most deadly too. You should look up some of the vids on him training for these movies. He's no joke.

Simply one of the best action trilogies in recent history. Looking forward to your reaction to #3, it's better than #2 and maybe even as good as #1.
1 and 2 were superb with 2 being the best for me. 3 in my experience was the worse, seemed it ran our of ideas and some cringe moments in it.
@@grimmlight4541 I think #3 had the most over the top violence, almost slapstick in the intensity. There were a few moments where the story got a bit crazy.
@@grimmlight4541 I agree 3 was pretty disappointing imo. The humor was waaaaay too over the top, and not nearly as natural as the first 2. It also had the worst pacing by far. 1 was the best imo, but 2 had the best locations and a better 3rd act.

I don't think 3 is disappointing, it's an amazing movie in it's own right. but I think it goes a little too over the top because the movies are continuously trying to top themselves, but it works just fine. However this is why I was worried when they announced Chapter 4....you have a fantastic trilogy on your hands, I don't want them to go too far by overdoing it because now they have to top Chapter 3. I think this movie was the right level and 3, while great, went a little too far to one side.

Fun fact: Stuntmen consider stair falls one of the most dangerous stunts, because they're so difficult to control and the risk of injury is so great. A well done realistic stair fall is really impressive.

When Common and Wick fall into the Continental and encounter the manager, it's like two schoolboys having a fight and getting caught by the teacher.
I never truly understood that line. Why does 7 million on John's head get him 7 bullets?

I actually met Common in the airport right after this movie came out. I asked him if he would be back for John Wick 3. And he said “maybe we’ll see”. Maybe he’ll be back for John Wick 4 lol.
I love how John Wick shows up in Rome and the 'most likely' conclusion a man like Julius comes to is that, if John Wick is in Rome, the only person you can imagine he's there for is the most well-protected person for ten thousand miles in any direction.

Rewatching for fun, love these movies and your reactions. But dude, it just hit me. When Lawrence Fishburne said me and John go way back (subtle nod to the matrix years ago) gave me the idea that that new sequel/reboot of the matrix recently should've been tied to John wick, where neo from "the matrix" and everyone are actually in John Wicks world (inside the matrix) but don't know it.
the tailor in this film was the actual costume designer/tailor for the film.
The cardinal he visits is the assassin from Godfather Part 3. It’s a great reference.
That scene where they shoot in public with the suppressors is cool but very unrealistic if you have ever shot or heard a real suppressor. In my opinion, the first 2 John wicks were the best, the 3rd is kinda eh but still entertaining. Love the channel bruh
The third one was more of a set up movie in my opinion. A movie that's not supposed to be that good. But a movie that supposed to be a great set up for the next movie. Which I believe will make the next one even better. So it's arguable that the third one is one of the most important ones to wztch

Watching this again, John apparently had his axles, motor and tires reinforced, but not the body. He needed a Mercedes S600 Guard. I hope to have one, one day, just for potential fender benders or deer. Lol!
