- What's up Guys. Welcome or Welcome back to my channel.. I'm here with another movie reaction and this one was pretty funny!. There were a ton of well name wrestlers in this film and also the rapper Nelly. This was my second Adam Sandler movie that I've reacted and it was fun. You will see in my reaction how much I enjoyed this movie.

It's rarely mentioned, but you can tell Adam Sandler really is a natural athlete. Even Michael Irvin was saying he was surprised at Adam's throwing ability. Said he was throwing tight 40 yard spirals all day, and every throw is real.

Fun Fact: Deacon was played by Michael Irvin, an actual 3-Time Super Bowl champ. He played for the Cowboys.
Apparently one of the most expensive parts of this movie's production was the catering to feed the cast each day, which looking at the size of some of the people in it, doesn't surprise me. A story from behind the scenes is that The Great Khali (the >7ft guy who was headbutting the wall) ate over 100 boiled eggs in a day and took home 3 chicken for dinner
So many big names were in this movie: Adam Sandler, Nelly, Goldberg, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Michael Irvin, Chris Rock, The Great Khali, Kevin Nash…oh man I could go on forever haha, def one of my favorite casted movies
Burt Reynolds as well, in fact he's probably the best casted considering his role in the original.
As well bill romanowski and Brian bosworth
Having some former WWE/WCW stars as well as a former Oklahoma Sooners player (Brian Bosworth) as the guards was genius.
Few nfl legends and players as well
Bill Romanowski's crazy ass fit his role well too.

If you want to do an absolutely fantastic military movie I would 100% recommend Master and Commander with Russell Crow and Paul Bettany. It's one of my absolute favorites.

Master and Command doesn't get anywhere near as much praise as it should, it's a wonderful film.

So many great actors, legendary wrestlers & badass football players in one movie. I’m a woman & this is one of my favorite movies.

Burt Reynolds is cool and badass; Adam Sandler not ... not even close. Of course, the real badass is Jack Nicholson as "Badass" Buddosky in "The Last Detail."

I love this movie. You should watch the original that came out in 1974 as well. I personally like that one more because it has my dude Burt Reynolds in his prime. Some of those guards and prisoners are former pros. Romanowski, Irvin, even Crews played in the league.
A movie that definitely fits your own description of a banger, is "Crank" starring Jason Statham. If you have the ability to do a reaction to that movie at some point, I highly recommend it... you won't be disappointed... guaranteed!!!

Such an underrated movie with a great cast of comedians Hollywood icons and wrestlers. What else can one ask for from a movie. And the tall guy Khali legit killed not just one guy but two. ( on accident)
My man Devin, I subscribed a while ago but I haven't been the most diligent subscriber. Every time I watch one of your videos though I'm blown away by how good an eye you have for detail. Like, you get everything the writers are putting down, you see the whole message of the film without any pretentious chit chat, but then you also put yourself in the character's shoes, and sometimes the way you describe how the characters are feeling help me understand the film better. I really enjoy your content, and am glad you started doing this. You add a lot to the conversation surrounding these films, and you're one of the most humble guys out there. I always leave your videos feeling like I got a great understanding of your perspective, and I never get bored. Keep being you, brother. ✌️

You know a movie is good when I, someone who hates most (not all) comedy movies and finds sports boring, loves it. I'm not even an Adam Sandler fan, but I found him funny and relatable in this film.
Shout out to Bill Goldberg! Love this guy! He played the evil Santa in Santa's Slay, a comedy horror (one genre of comedy I do tend to like).

This movie was filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the old state prison. Which had one of the deadliest riots in US history.
My favorite scene is there at the end. "That's a week in the hotbox!" "Who gives a shit?!"
I am surprised you haven't done a reaction to Hacksaw Ridge, one of the best war movies out there based on a true story. Highly recommend it Devin.

Hard to believe the warden played the farmer in Babe (the sheep herding pig movie). In that movie he reminded me of my Pap (Papaw). I've seen this guy as a bad guy a few times since and he's despicable. My Pap was always a caring, fair person. I hope James Cromwell is a nice person in real life.
Fun Fact: The Teams Name "Mean Machine" is the title of the movie the Longest Yard is based on. In Mean Machine its not football, but soccer and Jason Statham plays the goalkeeper for the prisonors team and hes brutal :D

Great reaction! They did a british version called mean machine but for futbol / soccer with a lot of great cast too. (Jason Statham plays the part of the big indian wrestler guy in solitary) Same storyline but soccer in prison.

Apparently Adam Sandler is actually pretty athletic. He's a half decent thrower and is damn good at basketball too.
Though the movie is scripted of course and stun doubles, he supposedly did a lot of practice and playing on the set and the other cast agreed he was a great player.

theres a british version of this, its a bit older and a bit nuttier, but "mean machine" is a good one, mostly for jason statham playing a murderous kung fu scotsman

I remember the guard in the old movie, after the warden warning of the shooters, put his head through the wall, then an elbow smash making another hole. Don't remember much of this but a few jokes, and Holyfield saying he think he swallowed a finger.
