Same, I grew up listening to Nelly.
I’m only 35 but it’s crazy how many things and people I know about that people that are only 10 years younger than me know nothing about.
I felt insanely old when I saw a reaction to teens reacting to a VHS player and having absolutely no idea what the thing was.
When he explained who Stone Cold was, "Like how Logan Paul wrestles" and im like, "damn ..." lol

The old man on the team is Burt Reynolds. He played Paul Crewe in the original.

The guy at the golf course, whose wife Crewe slept with, is Ed Lauter. He played Capt Knaurer in the original.
And Burt Reynolds really took that hit during the game. They said they had a stunt double for him and he said he still had one good run left in him. Brian Bosworth that hit him was honored to hit him. He said “Who else can say they were ran over by Burt Reynolds”. Reynolds didn’t get hurt on the play but had to be helped off. They weren’t acting when they were carrying him to the sideline. He really needed the help.

A little more info. Terry Crews was a professional football player. Nelly was also recruited to play Baseball by the MLB, but decided to pursue a rap career instead. Worked out for him. Lol

The black dude with the bonnet is Bizarre, he’s a rapper. The other guys around him are rappers as well, Proof, Mr. Porter, Kuniva, and Swift. Don’t know if they ever did anything solo but they were all part of D12 with Eminem.

That old guy you didn't know is Burt Reynolds, legendary actor from a "little" before your time. If you want to go a little out of your comfort zone watch Smokey & The Bandit movie, it's hilarious.
I'm not a big fan of Adam Sandler but i love his movie 50 First Dates, both hilarious at times but also heartwarming.

The photo that Caretaker showed Crewe was a real photo of Chris Rock and his mom. There’s an outtake on the dvd that shows Michael Irvin playing a trick on Romanowski. Irvin switched the fake collapsible locker door that Romanowski head butts with a real solid locker door
Little Giants is a classic.
Funny thing is that Jason Statham (Shaw) did play one of the cons in the British version and I think he was one of the maximum security ones too, if I remember right lol

To this day, I’m still impressed by Adam Sandler’s commitment to this role. At the beginning of the movie, he’s his usual pot-bellied, out-of-shape, self. By the time he starts getting the team together, he’s in shape and looking more like a football player. He also learned how to play football well enough to be convincing onscreen.
It’s crazy there’s four WWE wrestlers in this movie
Yall should watch “The Replacements”, “Invincible”, and “Miracle” if you want more sports movies, “Rush” is good too.

There is a british version of this but with soccer. MEAN MACHINE. Shaw, (Statham) is actually the guy locked up in solitary for being the crazy one and ends up being the goalie against the guards. Great movie, same plot. Just big name british actors and soccer.

If you're onto sports movies with amazing stories, you're not going to regret reacting to "Warrior" (2011) with Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte. It's about MMA fighting with an incredible story and acton/fight scenes. Severely underrated, but one of my favorite films ever!
Saw a couple of people recommend 50 first dates so I wanted to recommend it as well 😊
