      Like I don’t even get the mentality. Give him 4 more years to be an incompetent ass that breaks laws, then we have a hard swing Left as history predicts every time. Happens every single time.
      And then he’d set dangerous precedents. Based on his actions, calling systemic racism could be considered “a national emergency” similar to how Trump declared immigration one. Asking foreign governments for political leverage against the other party is now considered unimpeachable behavior. Obstructing justice is now not a removable offense.
      Like, all non-Republicans have to do now to run for office is say “this guy voted to not impeach Trump while blocking witnesses” and they get at least Democrat vote and 25% of undecided.
      Like I get having 4-8 years of a Republican president, but all we have to do now is think back and I can see us having 3-4 Democratic/independent presidents. Paul Ryan won’t run. McConnell will be laughed out. Romney has a fair shot but it’s so much bad press. I honestly don’t know if anyone but Romney and Ron Paul would be viable to even run and win against a Democrat for the next 12 years.

    This line is the whole problem summed up:
    "I believe that the President has learned..."
    If you do a crime and the evidence supports that you did it, you get convicted. You are not acquitted from a court with a "The jury believes that the accused has learned his lesson by being in this trial, and propably won't do it again". Stupid American system.

    • @Khumzwi
      @Khumzwi Před 4 lety +3

      Martin Eriksson absolutely! I guess now we could use this ‘impeachment trial’ as a benchmark when murderers, robbers and fraudsters are indicted. “Oh, I think my friend, Rob has learnt his lesson on stealing from people. So no need to find him guilty because he knows better now.” I mean, if the president of the USA can get away with his crimes then we should apply this to every American standing trial.

      Dude, seriously, it’s disturbing how much this has become the norm. She gives Trump WAYYY too much credit and confidence in him learning anything when he clearly has demonstrated he has no moral compass whatsoever. He’ll be on his deathbed still insisting it was a “perfect call.” And you’re totally right, I’ve never heard of anyone going to trial and being ruled “we think they learned and won’t do it again.” You guys are jurors, not parents. You either are convicted or acquitted on the charges being accused based on evidence and whitnesses, you don’t let them off the hook because “ok you seemed to learn your lesson, but next time you’re definitely grounded with no internet for a week.” Just kidding, next time we’ll take a trip to Mar-A-Lago 🙄.

      Emily B. I don’t mean it’s an overall unimportant state. I’m sure it’s great and the people in it are great. What I’m saying in all the states that they are going to, it’s the least important in terms of winning for the candidates. Last election, candidates even backed out of that state because the delegates numbers theyd get there wasn’t worth the effort of other states. This year, the race will be tight so every caucus counts so they are there. If you think that is rude or an insult, that’s on you and your inner feelings or demons.

    The devil DOES quote the scripture, in the Bible when he’s trying to tempt Jesus in the dessert, and also it says in the Bible that the devil will try to trick you by appearing as an angel of light quoting the scriptures. Anyone who knows anything about the Bible at all or has read the Bible or went to Sunday school usually knows this. So no wonder the Trumps don’t😂It’s also why I always say that organized religion is the greatest trick the devil ever played 🤣

I think he stands a much, *much* better chance of wining a general election than the establishment Democrat (who will go over like a lead balloon up north).
      There are 21 senators up for reelection this year plus 2 special elections. 22 two years from now (and a second chance to dump the special electees if they survive this year). 9 in four years. Romney not included, but he'd make 10.

      NOPE! if every vote had equal value states would not be voting. States voting ONLY happens in the Electoral vote.
      Imagine you're in school and you're going to have a vote on what to have for the school treat. Pizza or hamburgers. So the teacher divides the class into different sized groups given different color names. Some groups have 2 people in it, some have 3, or 4, some have 6. But each group no matter how many people are in the group only gets one vote. Someone says no they shouldn't vote by group, but each person should individually get one vote. And your response is "If everyone gets a vote then the purple group will decide whether we eat pizza or burgers". Does that make sense to you?

    To Romney’s credit, he did this because he’s an ethical man of strong principle, and the courage to live by his convictions even when it proves politically inconvenient (to say the least).
    I don’t agree with Romney’s politics or his religion but I can’t deny the man is a Decent man of Integrity, with a Conscience that implores him to behave well so he can sleep soundly.
    Which is a hell of a lot more than I can say about the rest of the Republican congressmen. The ironic thing is Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under Oath. *Every Republican who voted to not allow witnesses, should be prosecuted immediately for violating their Oath to be a fair and impartial juror in the impeachment trial.* Particularly the ones like McConnell and Graham who publicly boasted how they had zero intention of being a fair juror. Otherwise the Oath has been proven meaningless and literally inconsequential.
