I make my own Greek yogurt in my instant pot using pasture raised whole milk that I buy at a local farm. I sweeten it with a few red grapes or other fruit. I also like to add some flaxseed that I grind in a coffee grinder. If hope that’s healthy enough because I don’t know how to make it any healthier. 😊

I have gastroenteritis. It was very painful until I had half a bowl of yogurt. Not gonna lie, feeling the bacteria fighting in my stomach was uncomfortable and produces a lot of gas. I was almost back to normal. It must be a severe infection because half of the pain came back and yogurt is often an instant cure. I implore people (who are not lactose intolerant) to try yogurt before resorting to antibiotics.

Cost $4.50 for about 3/4 gallon when done. Two ingredients, gallon of milk your choice and a small yogurt cup plain with live active cultures. I use Fage 5%. Watch U-Tube videos. simple😊

12hours is ideal, 6-8 hrs for some people. I strain and drink the whey after a fast, the straining makes it thicker and creamier. I prefer to strain outside the fridge, but I take it into the fridge if I am doing this close to bed time, because it become very sour for my kids when it stays out for so long. If it strains in the fridge it’s less sour.

I buy a kilo of 6.5% plain yoghurt. Then I separate the whey which is about 60% of the total weight. This is done by assembling a pan on which sits a collander covered by a dish towel. I pour the yoghurt on the towel, cover and let gravity do rhe rest. The whey separates out, leaving a very hi-fat delicious product

Seriously where does he get this stuff sometimes? Regular milk off the store shelves homogenized and pasteurized is not hard to digest nor is it inflammatory. Do I get inflamed in the gut somehow? Do I get an upset stomach? Never and never. Ok maybe I have had an upset stomach extremely rarely like anyone else, but it's not from drinking milk. As far as I can tell drinking it nearly every day of my life, and I'm sixty now, it's nothing but good for you with basically no downsides whatsoever. Why have I never broken a major bone in my entire life, being athletic, playing sports, having been in an infantry unit, running and cycling now, 3000 plus jumps skydiving before? Probably a combination of good genes, and calcium from milk primarily, more than the cottage cheese, more than cheese, more than sour creme and certainly more than yogurt which has been something very here and there over time with me. To say things like that about milk, one of the most wholesome things anyone consumes, I think that's irresponsible. To knock any dairy, same thing.
