Looking forward to the guy doing first Dover to Calais crossing in his little VW hatchback!
sounds like a challenge!
It's the sort of thing Car Throttle would do. Get a £300 shitbox VW with blood all over the back seats and broken suspension, then drive it to New Zealand.
I hope never win this Challenge, we have enough stupid People here, we don't need yours...
🤣🤣🤣
He could be quids-in on the return crossing.........
It never fails to amaze me the stupidity of the drivers attempting to drive through the Ford when it’s that deep!
What you mean, its not even over 3ft
Ikr
Note registrations
Do not buy if it comes up for sale.
Or those who drive through it at all
They just looking to clean the engine by flushing it with water...
3:20 Smart guy. Putting his engine at the back and driving slightly fast so the wake of the wave is lower at the engine.
This is the safest way drive through. I have seen this often. But some idiots thinks they can drive with full speed in there vw Golfs 🤣
But wouldn’t the water go right up the tail pipe? Trying to figure this out.
@@chocolatewheelchair the water cannot enter the engine through the exhaust as long as the engine is running and the throttle is opened, this creates a back pressure through the exhaust gases. These keep the water out of the engine compartment.
@@thynk-unlimited Driving forward it stops it rushing in behind you. Backwards your forcing water into the exhaust as there's more water pressure since its not in the wake and your physically pushing water into the exhaust so I'm sceptical. Be cool to see some experiments
@@Jisei13 a 1.0 diesel would have more than enough pressure as long as they are accelerating sufficiently. Cars are built for fresh water, just have to keep it below the filter. That’s the rushing water created by the movement not just the water line you see.
I'm very impressed how waterproof the golf seems to be.
handled like a champ, casually climbs out and pushes his vw boat to shore
Engine will be scrap after sucking in water.
@@MattyEngland Maybe if you cut the engine right before water goes over the hood you can get away with a new air filter. You just have to hope you float to the other side and have your boots on.
I'm guessing that guy in the golf had his air set to recirc. That must have slowed it down. It's down at floor level passenger side in those things.
@@captainotto Anyone dumb enough to drive through it, is dumb enough not to know it will destroy their engine.
It honestly baffles me how anyone would think it would be alright to drive through water that deep. Do they really not have the slightest clue how an engine works?
The first one hasnt clue even about how buoancy and rule d'Archimed works.
some people
just waft through in the same way you use something disposable that you are not fussed about 'oh well 10k for a rebuilt engine'
Never mind air intakes jus displacement and floatation! A poxy little hatch back becomes a dingy at nearly 3ft of water!
In short no 😂
I can understand the more capable vehicles with more clearance going for it, but hatchbacks, vans, and sedans are people with -IQ
To the guy in the golf. Its a steering wheel, not a rudder!!🚣♂️
Haaaaa!
hahahaha
In fairness to start with the rear wheels were off the road, front wheels were still down and he was trying to keep it moving fowards as it's FWD, so steering initially made sense. Once the front wheels are not longer pulling the car, give up.
*Tiller
Rufford Ford boating lake.
Very relaxing to watch those amazingly realistic models boats being sailed on the pond
The utes with no Snorkel driving backwards to keep the bow wave out of the engine bay is a GREAT IDEA 👌 watching these makes me really want a Snorkel. Such a lifesaver in a emergency flood situation.
A properly fitted snorkel and diff Breathers.
But if you're in an emergency there will most likely be debris and all kinds of stuff which could turn the emergency flood situation into an emergency.
No one there was on emergency. Just all a little optimistic... Since 30years i haven t really need a snorkel
That vacuum tanker could soak up the water befor. 🤣
If you could maybe grab an interview with some of these unfortunates and ask them what compelled them to foot it through there....THAT'D BE GREAT!
Putin! 🤣🤣🤣
@@theworldsbonkers Yeah ive seen some off them get pissy just seeing the camera. I guess they hate the fact their moronic driving has been caught on camera. :-)
@@uhtred7860Or they rather hate the fact that this whole moronic village has the energy to go out every day to watch others run into their demise while being completely unable to put up a sign that actually works. You dumbfuck.
I sit here at home laughing my head off 🤣🤣🤣 those 2 wagon drivers have got some explaining to their boss 🤣🤣
Depth Gauge: Just under 3ft. Do not cross
All these drivers: Challenge accepted
Except the driver of the white van at the end.
@8:38 his brain overruled his machismo!
I just don't get how you can look at how deep that is and think. "I know I can get through that (even though I have no experience)".
also the road sign said 'road closed' but they still keep coming.
Would be nice if people helped each other out but that wouldn't get them views😕
@@mrgreen9388 Why should they help them when it's so obvious? If they are they should be paid for it.
This is literally the best channel in CZcams. Thank you for the algorithms for suggesting this. HILARIOUS. How can people be so stupid?
Wow, great video, Tom! Looks like the ducks were enjoying it too. Reversing through the flood so the engine doesn't get flooded is actually a smart move. I hadn't thought of that before. Hope you didn't get too wet, Mate!
Except the water goes up the exhaust. Safer to go forwards at low speed.
Not against the flow of exhaust gases coming out. And it’s not going to get all the way up the exhaust against that flow to the cylinder head so yeh. Much better than going forward. Get any kind of water near the intake and the flow of air is going to carry it straight to the cyl head
@@alanhillyard1639 the exhaust gases are not constant, they pulse with the firing, water may not make it to the engine but it won't do much for the catalyst. Besides the exhaust, the transmission will probably have water in it, the sound deadening will be waterlogged and start to rust the subframes, the doors may have filled with water and the cardboard door cards gotten wet...there are so many reasons not to drive through water this deep.
@@bikeman123 so long as engine is running the exhaust pressure will keep water out, as is prooven by outboard motors and boats with exhaust under water as a silencer. As futher proof start your car and try to keep your hand over exhaust. But its a truly pointless debate as turning round and going the slightly longer route is the sensible move.
Those male ducks were trying to drown and kill a female duck, not sure they're having a good time.
Love the way the guy is steering when the car is floating around!
Epic
Would love to see the repair bills for a lorry engine
6-10k easily
@@scooped85 I aggree with you
And the loss of earnings and customers let down !!
Not to mention the P45...
Lorry engines are expensive
Love this channel and loved seeing that poor bloke bobbing around in his Golf....
Are people silly or what 🙈
@@AlexH2024 The disabled are more intelligent!
And he still trying to steer as it started floating away…
@@frothe42 as a Disabled Person i find that remark offensive
@@fizz555 I do hope you are smarter than the driver of this Golf.
Has to be one of the Best videos yet!...It's SO deep! 😁 Help Me...My vehicle's floating away 😂😂😂
So pleased you made it there today Tom...Congratulations on 12K Subs! 🔥🔥🔥
That reverse "trick" is pretty funny. But it seems to work👌
Yeah, I remember a Mercedes reversed it once. I'll have to remember that one if I'm ever in a do-or-die flood situation.
that truck driver.... if he went slowly he'd easily get through.
That golf driver was in relatively good spirits for someone who has just written off his car 😆
😂👍🏼
maybe it wasnt his car
I suspect it was all face....because of the many people watching and filming.
Best Rufford Ford video yet!!! Great job!!
Watching this will never get old.
Amazing that the Citroen van made it through.
Was thinking the same. Must've had racking/tools/parts in the back which just kept it from becoming a boat.
I was impressed as I drive the same van; yet I wouldn't risk it in water that deep!
Honestly didn't think anything was going to survive driving through that without just floating, is that as deep as it's ever been?
Thank you for showing the flood moving. Fascinating.
finally glad to see someone actually reversing, Hurray!
Can we get David Attenborough to narrate please?
that guy who reversed through it to save his engine needs to work in my company.
A true visionary.
The Defender driver at the end with no snorkel was very brave! Great video! 👍
Lightbar makes all the difference ;)
Epic moment s, thanks Tom
I seriously do not understand why people are stupid enough to think their car is going to make it through such deep water. Great videos!! 👍
They probably watched too many action movies and thought they could do the same...With regular cars...
Amazing dexterity of the golf driver to get out of that window from a floating car
Years of watching those Duke boys.
I'm quite impressed by the ingenuity of the Isuzu D-MAX driver, compliments to him from a fellow Isuzu owner 💪👏
We got a floater 😂
Great place to set up a recovery service 👍
Everyone knows you have to steer INTO the drift when your car starts to float.
I didn't know this.
I love the first guy whose car is floating. He's still turning the steering wheel trying to steer, lol.
I think what I love most about these videos is not people deciding to go for it despite the 3 foot deep water sign, the broken down cars already ok scene and the crowd of people watching, it's that the vehicles get recovered quickly enough that it just keeps happening again, and again and again
That SVR rangie got damn lucky
Big supercharged V8 engines, or any engine with a high compression ratio tends to fare better in standing water.
They have an air intake that prevents water getting to the engine. They are designed to wade.
@@jayhorri1584 no they don't lmao
2½ foot deep and still people think they can drive through in a small saloon car. Unbelievable!
I don't normally comment on these but purely for the little upstream walk I'm going to. Nice video :)
Got to be the best one yet!! 😜
shame the VW Golf is not a VW Polo, hence the expression ..."water Polo ! " took ages to think that up
I've always said that golf is a waste of a good walk.
Great vid 👌. On the bright side the garages I'll all be busy with a lot of engine damage due to hydraulic lock
I like how they just casually floating around like "nothing is happening" :D
been looking forward to this one.....
Those 2 lorries at the start probably could have got through if they had been going slower. Also, clever of the Isuzu driver to go through backwards.
Was the bloke in the golf captain pugwash?
Brilliant videos Tom.
I loved the duck part!
get 10k plus and bung it in the river? what goes through folks minds???
6:06 i think he‘s the only one who understands how a engine works
This is the best thing I have seen on CZcams. Awesome job buddy
Nice one Tom !
there are "universal snorkels" for many different type of trucks. If I lived in that area and had to cross that section of road often... I think I would have definetly invested in one.
I’m disappointed at that Scania Tanker! Thought that would of made i through! Great Vid btw
I never thought the tanker would blancmange made it through.
If they knew how to drive responsible they would of easily made it through
If the driver would have been slow enough (to avoid the high bow wave) it wouldn't had been a problem at all. He was simply too fast, like many vehicles there
@@briankingston7428 Most people should blancmange known to take precautions at least!
Brave guy in the black Range. That noise 👌
3:16 that roar 😍😍😍
When does the Rufford lifeboat station open?
7:56 oh, hello Ben Greger👋👋
I love this chanel un saludo desde Uruguay
Amazing.
The guy going backwards is pretty incredible. The SVR I am surprised it didn’t flood
bloody great sign saying Road Closed..... I have no sympathy lol
Evening all, part 61……vehicle’s doing a swan impression🤣😂😥🥲🤣😂👍👍 Toms the man.
Watching the guy trying to steer his floating Golf always raises a smile!
The stupidity of these drivers never ceases to amaze me. And yet everyone who owns a car see there overall costs rise a little every time one of them writes their car off because cars were never meant to cross large bodies of water like this. Absolute muppets, they honestly don't deserve to drive cars.
*Best one yet Tom - can't believe that many crazy fools around !*
Oh lord this gonna be goooooood!!!
3.19 Isuzu guy absolutely nails it. That's how you drive through a ford!
oh bless, that first guy was so optimistic and just a metre in boaty mc boat face. and i love the way they still turned the steering wheel like they had an outboard rudder.
I keep being baffled how people do not seem to understand how car engines work :O , still, somehow these are fun to watch :D
I awaiting this video xD (from France) This storm did a lot of damage. Thx Dude ;)
Golf driver shouts, 4! Kinhell I'm floating.
Can someone from the area explain to me why people drive through this when it's so deep?? Or at least go plowing into it? Living around that area you'd think people would.know how to cross.
I love the content though!!
I'm impressed by the English People, it shows very high intelligence 🤣
if only intelligence could lift a car :)
I remember the Arab drift videos on LL.
The Royal Mail will not be deterred!
The insurance companies love this actual footage that demonstrates "driving with out due care and attention".
Which part of road closed do people not understand? Lol
I’d sack everyone of the commercial drivers doing this in my company truck! Professional drivers, my arse!
Świetny filmik 😀oby takich więcej😀👍
Mechanics gotta be killin it there.
Came to see the carnage. Was not disappointed. If only there was some sort of fairly obvious depth gauge that people could reference prior to driving. Maybe someday. Power move by the Suzuki truck going in reverse.
There’s a depth gauge in the Ford. Going backwards is also a bad move.
@@trainman665 he was being silly
What they should have installed was a sign saying, ‘Flood Road Closed Ahead’. Maybe in bright , attention seeking colours like yellow & red. That would have prevented all of this!
@@jon.bennett naaa, what a waste. ppl would have to read it first
@@jon.bennett Agree completely. The only indication there was anything unusual about the crossing was the crowd of people standing next to the famous crossing that has its own Google reviews page, everyone with camera phones recording, and the broken down cars that you have to pass on the way in. I agree, these minor details are easily missed and a sign from the local council is in order.
Darwin Award!
So good to watch those Land and Range Rover! Value for the money! Nice quality!
The first guy gets out with his selfie stick, deserves everything he got. LOL
I looked into map and bridge over this river is just few km from this ford. My mind still not getting why people tries to go through the ford, especially during high water 😀
Living brain 🧠 donors who will always practice mental abstinence.
It’s a bit scary that people this thick actually have a driving license.
Probably because theyve always wanted to try it
The golf.... I'm sorry I near wet meself
That white citroen van certainly showed the 4x4s!!!
I'm watching this kind of videos for 2 hours straight now
Still massive entertainment :D
Hope most of the people have good ensurence
This looks like a lot of totals to me as a mechanic 😂
I have a freelander (its cheap but its a land rover) and with a snorkle the maximum wade depth is determined by the point at which it floats. Its a two ton car. A golf would definitely float. What was that guy thinking?
I used to own a Freelander, amazing car. I drove through some floods that a row boat would run away from. Excellent, underrated vehicle.
That was comical. You're floating and trying steer?
it works in the movies it must work in real world!
Lo hacen de diversión o son pelotudos del todo muchachos?
😂😂😂 absolutely 🔔 Ender's trying to drive through that 😂😂😂
The guy steering away at the wheel like that does anything lol.
3:07 shows how capable even an RR SVR is
That thing would have been inches from a 20k bill and guarantee water will be in places it shouldn’t
@@leenevin8451 Range Rover sports have an air intake that makes water getting into the engine impossible, it is the same for the disco 5. The cars will float before any water can get in. The Disco 5 can officially wade up to 90cm and has a wade sensor to tell you how deep the water is. But it is safe to 1m and will then start to float.
@@jayhorri1584 sounds interesting anywhere I can read up on it? However these are last cars you want to expose to water. Complicated electrics and very expensive to buy. Water in the interior isn’t nice and it’s bad if it gets into drivetrain. Also the cooling effect will damage the Catalytic converters. My point is these people have false sense of security in their £100k car
That intake system sounds impressive tho
It's 3ft deep, what did they think it would happen???
The drivers who made it over? They thought they could make it over.
