- Back in 2014 I was asked to look at this death trap but i refused to work on it. The car was then sold on a few times by the dodgy dealer. After a few long months i managed to buy it and get it off the road for good.
below is the link to the Alfa owner club thread.

YOU saved a life,by purchasing and taking off the road ,fair play to you..
That’s crazy. For all the effort and expense welding, bondo, sanding, painting, etc. to make the car appear functional at a distance, they could’ve parted it out and made legit money. Some people just belong in jail.
shocking isnt it.
@@ItaliaAutos makes u think how many cars are there out there like this. And the bastard keeps selling them with no care. Is he still trading
Shocking. But also shocking that two people were naive enough to buy it.
I agree that ppl bought the car is more shocking than the repair.
All things considered, it appears to be one of the better cut n' shuts. I've seen much worse.
No one would've thought this car is a cut n' shut since they don't know what to look for. He already knew from the bat that something was off about the car because it was painted white. Trying to hide damage with a clean color like white than any other color.
Headlights epoxied in, front strut not mounted properly. Side damage, more expanding foam, fiberglass on the roof to hide rollover damage. Replacement steering wheel cover and remove the airbags. Extended door hings to hide the recessed replacement door sill welded 1" into the passenger cabin.
The guy who sold that should have gone to prison... or into the crusher with car. It's so awesome you took that death trap off the road. Kudos to you Sir! 👍👍👍
Thank you for what you did and it's good that you showed it to us.
Not one of the so-called "mechanics" would turn a blind eye to this and do the necessary service, collect the money and forget about it.
Greetings from Poland
Owner of two Alfa Romeo 147 JTD
wow...cant even belive that someone baught this deathtrap of a car .even people with no knowlegde about cars...thank god you save someone"s life with baying it..
Well done for removing the vehicle off the road. I was in the motor trade for 40 years, the majority of which was examining cars and I’ve seen some terrible repairs but nothing quite as bad as this ! Some reckless people will do anything for a quick profit and it gets the motor trade a bad name. Keep up the good work.
What an absolute weapon of a car. Glad you took it off the road and squeezed it
Good to see this again, remember it first time around and was horrified that there's people out there, and I use the word people with hesitation, that could deliberately put lives in danger selling something that had no right to ever be back on the road. Shocking!!
Good Lord! As previously said you have saved lives by getting that shed off the roads! That would have folded like wet cardboard in a smash! 😮
I remember over 20 years ago when a culturally enriched garage rang me up to do a complete fitting of a new engine bay wire harness in a car only to find them rejigging a well bent out front sub frame. They proudly announced it would be back on the road the next day to become a new taxi.
You are a really caring person!!! Thank you for saving at least one life.
Having spoken to you at the ItalianCar Show at Raby castle last year (checking out my fist coupe 20vt plus!😁) it was obvious you were a decent and straight bloke! So hats off to you!!
Nice. 👍
How anyone can do such a bad repair to a vehicle and sell it on is beyond me
WELL DONE for doing the right thing and getting that off the road!
A greedy person who just thinks about the money
I basically grow up in a car body repair shop, been around crashed cars a lot and i have to say never seen one that bad, the guy that done that should be in jail. What a awfull repair...
thank you 🙏 you’ve just saved someone’s life !!!
Sir, hats off to you! All the best for you and your family! Don't worry, money is just money, they will come back to you! Hopefully all the Alfa fans will join your chanel and subscribe because you really care for the people and for Alfa.
The guy should be in prison.
Idd! Dead trap.
Or shot
Or drive a thousand miles in it at high speeds himself
People that do that kind of thing should find themselves facing attempted murder charges...
What a wreck. Whoever did those repairs should be in prison.
Your videos have come a long way since this!
Hope you didn't lose money
they should. i lost a bit but that wasnt the point on this one.
Neil so glad you done that al these years ago and remember it well the lynch mobs etc too
im glad i found these old videos to stick this one together and get it on here for all to see.
I honestly can't believe someone could sell such a car,and sleep at night, pure disregard for life, fair play to you for taking it off the road.
Love it Neil! It reminds me of the Cockney Wanker character in 'The Viz' who sold really dodgey cars lol!
Lol. Not seen a viz in years.
BIG shame!! Hurts to see, I have a Alfa Romeo. ...a good one! Cruss it please dead trap R.I.P.🙏.
Well Done Italia Autos for putting this in the public domain and getting the car off the road
thank you.
That is shocking!!
Glad thanks to yourself it won’t hurt anyone any more .. 👍🏻
Seen a lot of cowboy bodges when i worked for a dealership, even more now i do inspections for rac, unreal what some people do.
That car is.there is no word for how bad it is if that was to crash even at low speed say 40 50 mph it would fold and crush the driver even worse no airbags to cushion the blow. Most likely the occupants would be killed definitely badly hurt. You sir are a legend you saved life.
Holy crap! The headlights are mounted in expanding foam!
shocking.
@@ItaliaAutos you should crash it in to somthing on some waste land obviously dont get in it send it on its own see what happens to it. It would make a good video on the dangers if you still have it👍
Wow. Been in the motor trade over 30 years in the bodyshop trade, never seen one as bad as that , seen some sights but that takes the piss.
Kudos to you Sir. A truly shocking event
I’ve seen it all now, expanding foam behind the headlights, oh my lord. I live in Maryland in the U.S and a friend of mine and I would have to re-repair vehicles from a body shop that did very crappy work. But they weren’t that bad.
Can't believe the depth of that filler ... and expanding foam to hold the headlights! Lol Nice one Neil - did you get any genuine parts off it?
the only parts it sold off it where engine, gearbox, window switch and front bumper the rest got crushed.
Jesus that's bad, how could anybody sell that. I have saw some rough stuff over the years but nothing like that
all i can say is wow......... this truly breaks my heart to watch
It looks like a new car built in Dagenham during 1979 winter of discontent. We should be alright though in the coming winter of discontent. There aint a Ford plant there anymore. Phew !
Criminal should either be inside or staked out on an ant bed.
The fact you bought it
Legend
it didnt even cross my mind someone could just recover a ripped out aibag! a dash one yeah in some cars but that totally opened my eyes
i had airbags on astra k 16 plate not deploy car was 3 months old and a serious accident
Who had given it an MOT ?......and where were the vehicle inspectorate ?...and was it not put on the write off register by the insurers ?....questions, questions. That car is unbelievable !
Tim Hancock trading standards where aware of the seller and the car but nothing was ever done. The block is still trading to this day. Can’t remember who passed an mot. I’d imagine the online mot history isn’t there anymore.
Seriously, I wouldn't keep pigeons in that. Bravo for taking it off the road 👍🏼
It's a zombie alfa. You should have performed a controlled overlap accident on the nearside with it, at 70kph, be interesting to see the outcome would be..scary I'd imagine!
Oh my god. You were good to get this off the road. Moral of the story. Buy cars from reputable dealers and get them checked before parting with cash
After 50 yrs in the motor trade i have never seen anything that bad after a repair. Seen less damage on a banger race car coming off the track after a hard race.
That's probably what it was 🤣👍
Is there an oil cooler from another car brand that suits for alfa gt jtd?
Not that I'm aware of. But you can piece together mocal set and connections on demon tweets website.
It does not take much to be a hero and save lives. You sir are the living proof! You have earned my like and subscribe and more importantly, my respect!
Cheers and thanks for watching.
About par for the course for most salvage repairers in the Birmingham area :D More Ripples than a sweet shop
but did it have a smooth underbelly?
That's the definition of a right off. There's nothing about it worth the time or money to repair.
That car must have one almighty accident possibly rolled with all the filler in the roof
yeah it was huge.
I wonder how come these faults were not picked up in the yearly MOT tests ?
I checked the MOT history. The damage to the front right side caused a MOT fail in 2008, as the suspension was knocked out of alignment. I'm guessing they then adjusted the chassis with a sledgehammer, and got so "close" to specs that it was reduced to advisories.
I'm guessing the flipping the car on the roof damages then happened after the last MOT in 2014.
Please take a look at the DVLA MOT checker, www.check-mot.service.gov.uk, and let me know what you think.
shocking big man your 100% superhero
Scary stuff!😱😱😱
What a disaster and very shocking. You certainly saved someone from a serious accident. Action should be taken against the moron who was selling it.
You deserve a medal for getting that wreck put down. Very likely you have saved a few lives.
I looked at the MOT history, and it's bizarre, to say the least. The car has been sold and driven again and again, yet, the last MOT seems to have expired 5 years ago. To me it looks as if the car has been involved in more than one hard collisions, and the sagging door issue was caused by a collision when the car was quite new.
Shocking indeed!
thanks for watching.
For sure a fake mot too. And those wings ate glued from factory and a pain to take them out, that one was just loose...
It's concerning that there are people out there, who have passed a driving test, and yet know so little about cars that they didn't know this was a death trap.
Come on!
Even looking at it would tell you all you need to know, that's before you even open the door.
Its past Mots make for very interesting reading
yep, 5 years missing 2009 to 2013
this is really bad god bless you 🙏
could be a fun track banger strip stuff off of it make the suspension as good as possible and just beat on it
Totally unacceptable. Unfortunately I've seen worse. Motor trade has always had sharks beware.
I worked in the car trade a long time and iv saw a few bad ones but that takes the biscuit
Well nothing has beaten it yet.
What the hell, I hope that ""seller"" had gone to jail. After seeing this I'm gonna have a nightmare tonight
I thought you guy in the UK have MOT system? how did it pass?
very easy to get dodgy mots
Personally, I blame the insurance company who originally wrote the car off. I understand that they need to sell the salvage to recoup some of the payout, but they should have ensured that the car was de-identified and sold only for parts. That way it couldn't have been put back on the road. It's a miracle that nobody was killed.
Horrendous ! People who sell cars like this should be prosecuted ! How did that car pass an MOT ? Appalling ! Poor soul who bought it
truly awful
Insurance companies should also be held accountable for selling this on to cut there losses, they are just as much to blame or maybe even more so.
Their.
Besides the dodgy repairs, why do people do half ass colour changes ?
EYE OPENING
No offence, but kind of checks did those people do before buying the car? Even a basic inspection would have shown some of the faults which are fairly obvious. If it’s too good to be true theres going to be reason why.
No real words to describe how this vehicle was ever allowed on the road. They say there's a sucker born every minute, that's what keeps these dishonest bastards in business.
That was so ridiculously bad I’m lost for words. I cannot get over how bad it is and the sheer amount of filler in it. Huge credit to you for taking this fatality waiting to happen off the roads. What really angers me is the fact that people selling heaps like this walk away pretty much Scot free. It’s a disgrace.
I noticed that many Alfa GT have a problem with the trunk. In fact, the bottom line of trunkis not flat in its entire length. Can you make a video, how to solve this problem?
Scary and exactly why people are wary of Cat cars. Guess it probably had a shady MOT too cos no way was that a Cat N and returned to the road under it's original ticket.
Did you use any spare parts from it?
Controversial comment here. But anyone who bought that car would have to either be blind or happy with it being like that. So many obvious issues that anyone who is allowed out unsupervised should spot from 10 feet away.
Good job to you getting it off the road 👍
Even after main dealer services I’ve looked at vehicles and I’ve noticed mechanical work not been done but never to that heinous standard. Those who put that vehicle onto the road should have imprisonment.
@@bobbywilson702 it was a scary car to come across.
What kind of @@@@hole would do this? Well done for getting this rolling killer off the road.
That's terrible, good on you for taking it off the road!
God I wanna know what it looked like before these "repairs"
Well done for this the cowboy firm should be shut down and not allowed to trade again to save lives JW ellis
one word=scary.
it sure was.
why would someone bodge a car that is worth about £1500, it just doesn't add up, if it had been a £20K Lanny 4X4 with crash damage I'd understand but a cheap heap of junk, which is what these are why bother, all that work to make few quid, take it we dealing with council estate sales,
So depressing. How can anyone buy something like this, it screams BAD.
It did this to a lot of cars to. At least this one is long dead now.
what a beauty
What about a MOT? Did it have one?
It did but I'm confident it was an under the table job.
i wonder who issued the MOT and did anyone pass this onto the ministry / trading standards ?
Dodgy mot for sure.
Hope you can get your money back on the undamaged parts.
This is my job crash repair has been for over thirty years .There is a lot of so called no it all no nowt experts on the internet when it come to crash repairs ,as well as everything else ,but who ever did this should be shot .You would not mind but they probably charged them full wack as well .Some people dont give a s#it
What do I think. First owner, non smoker, older lady driving it on weekends... Now seriously. How can something like this be on the road? Does it have MOT?
It’s had a dodgy mot.
@@ItaliaAutos Nice. Had the same problems here for decades with PU foam and putty cars getting a MOT for 20€ baksheesh. Now a MOT (STK) station here would have to pay a fine in the thousands or face forfeiture of property to the state. There are five cameras recording the car when inspected and sometimes a car is controlled right of the door by a police patrol with a mobile MOT station, or the driver is an inspection officer himself sent with a dodgy car on purpose just to test a MOT station.
What about the MOT? How were those people who bought the car going to put it on the road, as it couldn't possibly pass or have passed the test, what was going on there? Like did it come with a fake pass test or did they buy it knowing about the MOT but were going to drive it regardless and to hell with the law
And why would anyone pay alot of cash (his words) for a heap of scrap to get it off the road, when he could have reported it and get it taken of the road and crushed!
I don't know the law in the UK, but here in my village in Ireland a guy had his car taken (reported) because it was in poor shape and wouldn't be returned to him till he either repaired it, or scraped it, and had to have proof of whichever he did, ended up crushed because of pound fees!
Dodgy mot to get it passed.
I assume that is what is known as a cut and shut job.
But many times over.
Some people have absolutely no Morale Concience...Karma that is what I believe..
I think bernie and leepu did this one.
Jesus, some people should not be let near cars. And someone paid real money for that?
Hey, what program do you use for reading the vehicle? I Use Examiner
NVM, multiECUscan
multiecuscan.
How did that even pass the vehicle inspection tests ?
Easy when you know people 😉
I’d hate to have accident in that car
That giy must be banned for life working, selling and driving cars!!
Looks very scary. Never found an Alfa repaired that bad even in my east european country... Congratulations for the destroy.
It was even worse loads of stuff didn’t film or lost before putting this video together.
the whole cage is compromized
it has not the old structural integrity
