I started looking into chia seeds a few months ago. Mainly for the little bit of extra fiber. I have definitely noticed positive effects on my stomach and "pipeline". I don't eat them every day, more like 3-5 times a week. I soak them in water and add them to my cooked rice and overnight oats.

Dear Dr. Berg, I’ve been consuming chia seeds, flaxseed, walnuts, pecans, sesame seeds, lots of leafy green greens, avocados and avocado oil , home-baked sourdough bread, but I’ve never heard you talk about, and I’ve listened to a lot of your programs, is oxalate toxicity. All these foods I mentioned are all high in oxalates! I’m 63 and have been experiencing very sudden (since 1 month) severe hip joint inflammation issues that as far as I have been able to determine are being caused by toxic, long-term accumulation of oxalates. So for the last three weeks now I have removed probably 95% of oxalate rich foods from my diet. I also have been using a near infrared heat lamp sauna for 36 minutes almost on a daily basis for the last 18 months. Unless I can heal my hips, my hiking days are over. Can you help me please? BTW, I eat a lot of my home made kimchi for my gut! Quick Note: I just found your video on oxalates. I’m already doing the dietary recommendations you mentioned except for the citrates. Thanks!

Instead of going for walks, use your arms to get some kind of cardio, but it's not going to be much.

No matter what I did to try to get it out it never worked. I went to the ER And they cannot see anything, but I definitely could feel it. When I spoke with a few nurses, they told me that there’s not a lot of research done on these medically but they do see some people coming in with these clogging digestive track. I would say use it with caution from a personally Negative experience.

Chia Seeds NEED to be soaked at least 8 hours to get any nutrition from them. The longer the better, within reason of course. Don’t eat them raw in salads or smoothies etc. they must be soaked for at least hours. You can then either swallow them of chew on them. Soaked into a pudding is great idea if soaked that minimum of 8 hours, if not then no nutrition given

You look great! I got your probiotic I’ve been taking it everyday 😊 I used to make chia seed pudding all the time and I loved it but I felt like maybe I was eating it too much so I stopped.. sometimes I get a little in my head about the seeds

Another use - refrigerator oatmeal. Mix the chia seeds and flax with oatmeal and your choice of milk. Chill overnight in the fridge. In the morning you can eat it in the cold or heated. I like to add a bit of maple syrup, shredded coconut and vanilla. Berries are another good addition. Whichever option you choose it makes a very quick breakfast and you get the chia gel.

My fridge outmeal had chia seeds, ground flax seed, walnuts, cocoa nibs, frozen wild blueberries, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. I use oat milk with it. In the morning the berries have thawed and it's magical. I also use a blueberry, blackberry, raspberry frozen mix as well sometimes. ❤❤

4 teaspoons of Chia seeds soaked in homemade kefir, a few berries, a small pinch of real cinnamon, some dark chocolate buttons or dark cocoa powder, left in the fridge overnight. I eat one every day, it’s fantastic, filling, nutritious.

Dr. Berg I started chia seeds in lowest quantity but after taking them my blood pressure became 90/70 which is low and even I had darkness and fainting like situation happening to me and I feel that even my blood sugar level is low. Although I have quit sugar for the last 1 month but never felt such condition which I faced after consuming chia seed. So what's the reason please guide.

What about soaking flaxseed? It kind of gels when you soak them. I haven't ever done chia seeds. Haven't eaten chia seeds in a long time. I take my flaxseed and lightly toast them and then put in a coffee grinder and then add to smoothies when I eat them. I heard that was the best way to eat flaxseed.

It sounds great, but i always had problems with that. I was thinking of gut lining irritation because of the seed skin. Same problem with blacbberries and figs. I will try it again hoping of less problem. What about to grind it ato get the nutrients in it? Thank you!❤

1/4 cup of chia seeds = 260 mg oxalate. 1 Tbs of Chia = 65 mg oxalate ( Toxic Superfoods by Sally Norton) Will use a small amount of those as “hermetic stress challenge” for my intestines. Maybe better than black tea because no caffeine content.
