It’s beyond disgusting to hear that a 10 year old child was putting in more effort to save herself and her classmates than a slew of grown men who took an oath to protect their community. She did everything right, and they completely failed her. These officers need to be held accountable for their lack of action.

As citizens of our community it is our duty and obligation to make sure children are protected prior to police getting into a shootout in front of children. I send my child to school to learn, not to be a human target for disgusted youtube viewers. This should have been handled at the gunlaws and security level. That is why laws are changed, so mentally ill teenagers aren't able to purchase assult rifles, why do you suppose schools have security, safety regulations and policies? What did you believe your job as a citizen was? To sit around on youtube making comments? Is that your due diligence or just your pity? Yes cops did nothing, but how much more did you do to at least to make an effort in your own community. "ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY" JFK

Everything falls on the leadership because these officers were obviously ready to bust in and shoot this guy dead but their "commander" was cowering behind everyone. If he was scared fine don't go, send your boys in though. Hell no one expect the chief of police to be the first one to just into a room, I'd rather see back lash from staying back and letting your boys do the work then not enacting any plans.
If I were police it'd be tight protocol. First minute I want all information available. Location. Sightings. 911 calls. If there are people injured or killed or is the shooter holed up in an empty classroom. Can we get a vantage point? Are there windows? Can someone get a visual for more information? In the mean time get the boys to suit up for heavy gun activity. Ballistic shield, vest, rifles, pistols, form up be ready to move any second.
Depending on all that will determine if we have to sweep the rooms one by one to find the killer or if we got the information, we absolutely surround the classroom (without being seen too much of course as to not panic the shooter more), and let the these officers do what they do best.
Now will this fo flawless? Probably not. But it's a plan of action that gets everyone's ass into gear and ready to take down this man so whoever they rescue so at least those parents can know their children were saved thanks to our boys. All of this is a clustefuck and every cop who had authority to be grilled by Congress on why no one took control.

Undoing, if possible, the conditioning learned in basic training in an effort to return trained killers to a semblance of normalcy so that they can exercise their own critical thinking.

Knock it off. Theres some good LEO out there. Some who do run *TO the sounds of the guns.
There was one? O'Shea? Ran into Columbine to find the active shooter - alone. In civie clothes.
He was a Good Man, he was a friend.
He was treated to a degree of hostility for trying to help the kids? Akin to a repeated acid bath...
The father of one child refused to listen and sued O'Shea for killing his son. Dad refused to hear and believe the truth. His lawyers explained he was wrong, the D A. n assorted D A.'s tried to explain that absolutely O'Shea did not shoot his son, much less kill him. They even sent F.B.I. to talk to Dad and explain ballistics, everything, ALL evidence *proved O'Shea did not kill his son.
The father had gone deep into a delusional denial episode. The death of his boy? Broke the man... and in turn the Dad tried to do everything in his power to break O'Shea

      O'Shea's situation..
His police union wasn't rly set up to handle this staggering amount of legal bills. Dealing w someone who is Delusional? Is not easy...

There's only so much you can support someone under attack by a man w Delusional Disorder. Really.
And so there? Is a story of someone who ran inside to personally, stop a school shooting and paid for it? For years.... one thing O'Shea was criticized over was policy. At time policy was to not run in... if i am remembering correctly....

Like I said before, it shouldn't matter if you have been advised if there were children in the classroom or not, if a shooter or a major threat is in the area involving vulnerable innocents whether it be the building, classroom, storage room, boiler room, bathroom, etc., always assume there is a victim because it's only you (the police officer) that they are relying on to save their lives and the clock starts ticking once the threat make eye contact with there victim(s). They shouldn't have to wait for a go ahead, because the threat isn't gonna wait for a go ahead. They had roughly 400 police officers. The first 3 minutes they had about 5 officers which already overwhelms the shooter which should be enough man power to neutralize the threat. That first 3 minutes was the only momentum the officers had to breach the classroom by any means necessary. That first 3 minutes could've saved everyone.

Our facility was locked down for hours because the state police and city police were outside arguing over who had jurisdiction in the matter......I will never forget this as long as I live. @@garyp3472 It's not just "Blacks" ( I really don't like that word being used that way even if you guys seem ok with it.)
Okay. Cops are not what they are thought to be. The job attracts the wrong people and trains them to be much worse, more vain, narcissists caring about nothing but their frail egos and cowardly, self preservation.
An average Cop might not hesitate to pull over a woman at night pushing a baby carriage and threaten her with charges for not having proper lighting on the carriage.
Cops have no clue about law. They see themselves as 'The Law'. They are looking for victims.
He will attempt to charge her with 'Child endangerment'. If she argues, they will both be charged with resisting arrest. The baby put up a fight by yelling at the Officers.
Is this a joke? No. Not really. Other 'officers' will appear soon at the location by radio and will backup the BS story.
The Baby will be taken away and Sold to the Rich. Not exactly real but how would we know? It is close and even possible.

There were windows on that classroom. I saw them though they try to hide that information. Two cops shoot out the windows, while two more simultaneously rush the bastard from the hallway. While he's engaging one set of officers, the others shoot from behind. Coordinated strike using radios. Or were they too busy determining if it was self defense?

Every last one of those disgusting cowards should be rounded up into a classroom and then let the angriest family members of the victims have the weapons they didn't use and hunt THEM like fish in a barrel - slowly, for maximum terror, knowing that nobody is going to help them. Simply being charged and jailed isn't enough for what they did. They deserve to experience the pain and horror those kids and staff had to endure due to their selfish weakness. And even then I bet nothing would change...

Forget police officers. From now on when there is a mass shooting they should send in a team of Navy Seals to take out the threat. I highly doubt that a team of Navy Seals would just stand around in the hallway while kids are being slaughtered. Watching the footage of those useless officers just standing in the hallway doing nothing is insane.

They should send firefighters. We don't stand around and wonder what to do or who is in charge. We get on scene, dispatch assigns an Incident Commander we all know the pecking order from their and get to work. It literally happens as the situation is unfolding, instantaneously. The most qualified person is in charge until the next qualified person shows up, until they get to an aptly qualified person. There is no scratching our heads to try to figure out what to do. Why TF can't cops do the same?

The sick part was, it was Arson. The 1889 Historic Property had to go.
Now in it's place, is a 34 story Condo.

I don't understand why there isn't a predetermined protocol for this. First qualified officer on scene is the Incident Commander or whatever police call it (that's what it is in the firefighting community), and dispatch should acknowledge that and call that person the commander. Period---no deciding, it should just happen.
