the fact that the family have to go on gofundme to ask for money to pay for hwr children treatment shows how much america care about their children. in any decent democratic country she would have been care of by the gov for free..

I actually agree with the 11 year old. Why can’t the police officers risk their own lives in these situations to save the children? They can’t help anyone effectively from a parking lot.
Obviously they were told to stand down because that's not normal police procedure.

Totally agree. There will be an investigation...as there should be. But...let's not start switching the blame to the police....that's what Republicans want and will do, instead of placing the blame squarely where it belongs....their grotesque dereliction of duty to enact any responsible gun laws, including banning the AR-15 that was used to kill 21 people in minutes. The shooter was barricaded in a room with a weapon of war, that is designed to kill the highest amount of people, in a matter of minutes. There poor babies and their brave teachers were shot as soon as he entered. Responsible gun legislation is LONG OVERDUE.
Using her friends blood is not some shit you just think of doing as a child. That's the kind of shit you do when you've imagined being in the exact scenario that you're in. We've got generations of kids imagining what they would do in school shootings and actually having to go through it.

Smart little girl play dead I would not have known what to do at that point of time in that situation it would just probably turn me into stone that was smart and very quick thinking..I told my kid if anything happens to her in school or wherever drop to the floor and pretend you're dead don't move don't look up don't speak just lay there so they could think that you are not alive.

I remember at 10 in a situation where I froze in place. Couldnt move or speak. The quick thinking she had saved her. I would have been a goner frozen on my feet. If by chance I froze on the floor I know I wouldn't have been able to whimper "help" like that MORON COP called out for. WTF! That poor kid finally relieved help was there and she was fkn USED to figure out which door. How about TWO teams at BOTH DOORS!!!!

I am still very traumatized by it, 40 years later, I CAN'T even imagine what these kids are going through. It'll NEVER go away.

I understand trauma is the worst. I go to a seeking safety group for women that have endured Trauma. My mom was sick for 10 years and I experienced a lot as a child in the 1980s. My grandparents raised me along with my dad for part of the time. It was hard and I still have a lot of Trauma. I have 2 kids these kids ages. I can't imagine what this Beautiful girl went through. I can't believe the suspect was playing evil music. And told a teacher good night and shot her. Meanwhile these "cops," did NOTHING shameful!!!!!
My dad friend got ran over by a car when they were little kids and he still think about it in his late 40s. He feels bad about it.
I read the Uvalde doctor interview on my local news website. He described how hectic and crazy the trauma room was and the injuries. The doctor even said the surviving kids were shaking and saying the shooter was going get them. Makes me want cry this just horrible . I pray the kids can get through this . 💔😭🙏🏻

How does an 11 year old child move on with their life after going through an experience like this? To not just witness a brutal murder, of someone you know, up close and personal, but to literally use their blood as they are lying there to fake your own death?

Different people react to different things in different ways, some are brave, some are scared, she's traumatized and she's going through therapy as you saw in the video.
I’m not even American and I feel ashamed of the police. For people saying “it’s protocol” the cops should’ve thought selflessly and gone in to save as many children’s lives as possible, that’s what the police are for. I can only imagine how many of the 21 lives that could’ve been saved if they would’ve gone in sooner. Instead, they stood outside like cowards and did nothing, absolutely nothing while those poor kids were inside, getting slaughtered or seeing their friends getting murdered right before their eyes while the gunman roams around freely, doing whatever he wants.

This little girls survival instinct was so strong . The fact she witness death around her, she was able to think strategically. To cover her body with blood incase the offender came back , she would play dead . That’s a hero right there . Then proceeded to get a cell phone a call the emergency line . No wonder in her mind it seemed 3 hours to her , when in reality it was 1 . The police officers were outside, what a bunch of cowards . There response to slow , considering it’s a school and children involved . She doesn’t want to be near men , because of the horrific shooting and betrayal .This is extremely sad to hear and I can’t even imagine how fragile she is . I hope that proper and quick professional help and lots of love from family and friends with her traumatic experience .I pray that the almighty God restores her body , mind and spirit .

Not sure why she is not in the hospital and is going out to a car wash. Seems she should be resting and getting access to bereavement counseling immediately. The state should cover the cost of counseling at the very least.
The 2 police officers that went through the door first were both shot, yet they stayed there keeping the shooter occupied until back up got there. The gunman had tge drop on them to were they could not go through the door without getting shot.

I’m crying right now. Children?! How could this happen ?! What was that guy thinking when he did this?! I can’t imagine having to go through that at such a young age. As an adult I got caught up in the middle of an armed robbery and watched somone get blown away right in front of me; 10 years on I still have nightmares about it so I am not sure how an 11yr old is supposed to process the nightmare scenario she experienced. I hope she gets through it.

I was the first one out before the guy started shooting so I didn't get to see all the trauma so I won't myself much kf a survivor since I didn't see anyone die by the time I left (he did warmup gun shots just before he shot the crowd from the casino looking down the concert) that is when I left because I didn't feel safe there. By the time i got in the car I heard gunshots and screams. I wanted to go back and help but I wasnt a certified EMt at the time so instead I notified people outside of the scene to go and help. I'm a tiny girl, only 22 and I probably would have died because I didn't know any survivor skills at the time. I'm glad I left when I heard the first gunshots he shot or else I don't think I would have lived to tell the story. And as of my cousins best friend, be wasn't at the school nor his best friend at the time of the shooting
@@Eaglelicious omg even hearing those gunshots and screams would be traumatic knowing you can't do anything to help anyone, but I'm very glad you made it out safe because that's 1 life saved from a person with no regard of a human life, I don't know how people come to a crowd of people and start shooting with no mercy, they don't even think about how everyone there has family and friends that they want to go back to and they just start firing, it's just sad man.

It's called Complex PTSD when you are traumatized by someone you were taught you could trust. I totally agree that the support systems should be coming to Uvalde. For everyone including the " peace officers" who couldn't bring themselves to go in there and save these children. Across the country more training with people who are vetted properly to have jobs that are this important, who will do the right thing when it's asked of them. People who their oath actually meant something.......so sad on so many levels.

Honestly, I'm relieved that this poor girl didn't want to appear on camera. I was near tears just hearing the retelling...I don't think I could have handled hearing it from this poor, traumatized child. This is so shameful. I don't understand how people keep electing these same people who are happy to let children die.
Yeah I don’t think it’s appropriate for her to be on camera talking about it anyway. The news channel just want to make this story as heartbreaking and harrowing as possible. I appreciate the girl said she wanted to speak about it and let’s hope she gets the PTS therapy she and her classmates need, for free.
No Travel Well she wanted to speak publicly to speak out so everyone knows what she went through. There is no shame in that and it's yet another example of her courage. @@327JohnnySS the new law in tx, and recently fl, that abbott and desantis passed is “constitutional carry” meaning anyone over 18 can conceal carry without a permit or background check.
Abbott helped facilitate this.
“Good guy with guy” is the answer to bad guy with gun is dangerous and childish. We know it’s not true as 19+ trained, able bodied, armed and in bullet proof tactical gears were too scared to stop a teenager with a gun. They had no prob harassing, cuffing, tasing unarmed parents though - one of whom wiggled out of her cuffs, shucked in the school and safely retrieved her 2 kids.
“Good guy with gun” is telling children that guns & bullets should be used to quell any argument.

Anyone buying a gun legally gets background checks. 18 year olds have always been able to buy rifles in most states like Texas and Florida. Constitutional carry makes were 21 and older doesn’t have to pay for permit to carry a handgun. It was a good guy with a gun who stopped it. It would have been nice if those policemen had the courage or if there wasn’t laws preventing teachers from being able to defend themselves and students. What’s childish is believing someone who breaks laws like bringing gun on gun free zones and breaking the law of murder 19 times could have been stopping by more laws. The kid could have gotten these guns off the streets easier, faster, and cheaper. They will never get guns off the streets just like they can’t get fentanyl or heroin. 19 police officer couldn’t stop kids being slaughtered few feet away from them Constitutional carry is the only thing a person can count on to protect what’s yours.

I feel the same way, GCB. This girl is a resourceful, thoughtful survivor. She had strength and presence of mind that most of us wouldn't have had in that situation. As long as she receives the therapy and support that she needs, I really feel she'll go on to do great things. Sadly of course, it will always be part of her life, but I really think she'll take her strength and intelligence and build a great life for herself.

Rather than running away from danger officers should have drawn the shooter’s fire until backup arrived. You had plenty of officers outside controlling the crowd while the shooter was killing children, bravo!
They absolutely should have been applying constant pressure; nothing else is acceptable unless an actual hostage situation developed. And, frankly, forcing a hostage situation would have been better than allowing the shooter to just run amok in the school. It would have bought police time and meant that the shooter would not be in a position to keep actively killing. A hostage situation would have been desirable over what they allowed the gunman to do. Pathetic
