A sweeping Justice Department report exposes the "cascading failures" of the police response to the 2022 Uvalde elementary school mass shooting when 19 children and two teachers were killed by an 18-year-old gunman. Despite the presence of close to 400 officers at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, it took 77 minutes for police to confront and kill the shooter. The scathing 600-page report lays out the "haphazard" initial response in which hundreds of law enforcement officers stood by as the massacre unfolded. Democratic Texas state Senator Roland Gutierrez, whose district includes Uvalde, says the report proves "what happened on May 24th was the worst law enforcement response to a school shooting in this nation's history." Gutierrez describes the events of the school shooting, where "everything that could have gone wrong happened," and why the shooter's AR-15-style rifle did so much damage and scared police. "We need an assault weapons ban in this country, once and for all," says Gutierrez, who is running for U.S. Senate against Republican Senator Ted Cruz. "These politicians are cowards on this issue."

What happen in Uvalde bring up a very important point and it goes across many professions is the mentality/readiness to perform a job in a stressful/emergency situation. For instance a medical student does not have the capabilities to be a doctor if they freeze the moment they see a patient collapse and cannot immediately go into assessment mode. The person can be an excellent student with perfect scores in exams but if the person does not have the mental capacity then all the book knowledge will not be of any help. Uvalde is an issue of lack of training and BAD recruitment policies. In the USA there should be psychometric testing/assessments for certain professions specially those involving the welfare of society. But what can one expect? when there is active recruitment of military reserves with a past history of anxiety, depression and suicide attempts with hospitalization. Incredible but it is taking place people with mental/emotional instability getting into positions that require making stressful decisions that will impact others in society. Uvalde is the tip of the iceberg in the hiring/training policies across many professions that impact USA society. But such is the mentality in the USA letting people graduate and practice important professions that impact peoples life with a C average score or "affirmative action legislation" let in someone without the ability/capability/talent in order to fulfill the quota.

Law enforcement waiting around and not taking action is actually very common in cases of mass shootings. The same happened with Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Parkland. The police surrounded the building and just stayed outside, waiting for the sounds of gunfire to end before they pushed inside the school finally. It's actually very uncommon that law enforcement takes aggressive action against an active shooter. They do NOT care about you or any of us in the public.

19 children and 2 teachers killed and others severely injured and traumatized.
Video of the 377 armed law enforcement officers, sworn to protect, but just milling around for over an hour while children were being slaughtered, should have been broadcast with sound, as distressing as it would be. These officers were not just standing around in a silent vacuum, the few kids left were begging for help, screaming and dying. One little girl, ultimately killed, called 911 more than once after the police had arrived.
If the American public had seen AND heard this, these cowards might be held accountable. So what if the killer had an AR15? The cops had assault rifles AND body armor AND there were 377 of them. I am beyond angry about this display of cowardice by the very people sworn to protect us. I want the names of each one of the 377 cowards published, then prosecuted and punished for dereliction of duty. What they allowed to continue that day was truly shameful.
I want to thank Democracy Now for following up on this story. This needs to be kept in front of the public until assault rifles are banned and all law enforcement officers involved in this tragedy are held accountable for their inaction.

Unbelievable. Almost two companies (200 = 1 in the military) worth of armed officers couldn't take down 1 shooter in over 1 hour, who was killing children. In the military NCOs might decide to take action with far fewer people, but in this case everyone was standing around waiting for some kind of approval. I know I saw footage of some of the officers suggesting they go in regardless of their command, not sure what happened to them. I also know they did manage to arrest parents during that 77 minutes. Now I understand they can't let them in, but if the parents cannot go in, get your ass in there and do what you won't let them do. That was enough cops for 1 cop for every 1.5 children in the school... Yeah, the guy had an AR 15, that's most shootings, and the cops have AR 15s as well. How an adult, 377 of them, could hear that shooting and not run the hell in the, with a team, is beyond me.

Consequence of Gun Violence in Schools
Yesterday, March 17, 2023. I went to my grandsons Catholic school and church to pick him up after school. When I got there. I got out of the car and started to walk out back behind the rectory to the back door where his class usually comes out, they put one kid in the doorway recognize a parent or caretaker and send that kid running with a big fat smile to dive into the waiting arms of someone who loves them
Today was different though when I got to the side door and I had not reached the back door yet. It seemed that hundreds of kids ran out that door screaming at the top of their lungs run. Save yourself.
There were no teachers no nuns no priest no non-teaching assistant Just hundreds of kids running out of a door towards the main road and flailing their arms screaming
run save yourself at the top of their lungs and there was an alarm on
What what you have thought was going on I know what I thought was going on and as terrible as it sounds, I only cared about my own grandson. I clench my fists together, took a deep breath and made a guttural martial arts sound I have special training I trained with a ninja master for seven years and with marine recon rangers in the forest
I can walk up behind someone silently and do whatever I want to them but I’m older and fatter now
I thought someone was in that school doing something wrong and I was going to walk in that school and find my grandson or find the bad guy and sneak up behind him and do something terrible so that he wouldn’t be around to do it again
So I manned up and started walking through the massive kids
I put 1 foot into the school through the doorway, and finally an adult came, a Nun said to me we’re going to need you to stand over there one of the kids pulled the fire alarm and I swear it was like taking the biggest poop I’ve ever taken. The sense of relief was unbelievable and I said oh my god sister I’m so glad it’s only that.
She put her hand over her face and said, what did you think was going on in there?
we looked at each other’s eyes for a second, but it seemed very long and with her hand over her face, her eyes wide opened and her pupils dilated.
    She screamed Oh my God
She screamed. Oh my God because she realized I thought there was a shooter in there
it turns out that’s what anyone would’ve thought.
Well, the firemen came I applauded them and thanked them for their service. They turned off the fire alarm, and finally sometime late came my grandson, the Schmorgala came out of the school
I had ordered us pizza but now it would be cold. I was picking him up for his swimming lesson. I am the teacher and I was reminded what is important and what I live for like my friends and family and my silly little hobby, which is saving the world, and why I wrote this book but the fact that I had to write this book has to do with why I felt there was a shooter in that church in school and
I would recommend from now on everybody man’s up and watch the world now
that we will no longer be the bewildered, heard that sits crying and cowering Whenever a bad guy shows up
    Peace and love

Dear America, here in the UK I have a LOT of criticisms on how we don't invest in our children enough, we don't protect many from Child SE enough, we don't support them as struggling young adults... But however much I can criticise us for, at least we don't let hundreds of them per year them get shot in their schools because a disturbed young adult can buy an assault rifle! While *hundreds* of heavily armed, armoured, Police Officers with shields stand outside and wait.
And isn't this the one where they detained a woman, who broke through and got kids out, because she disobeyed the orders of disorganised, worse than useless, cowards? All those 'good guys with guns' didn't do anything. As polarised and snappy as we are with each other over here, we can all agree on this point: This unhealthy attachment to guns is a daily danger to your children's welfare, it's madness.
We don't get it guys, we meet you as individuals and families here and there in the world - and you're really NICE PEOPLE! 🤷‍♀🤷‍♀

we could do the same with children, but we have elements in politics and media that *want the children exposed* because they want us to vote away our rights and concentrate power in the state.
the number of gun homicides in america: 20k
the number of defensive gun uses in america 500k-2Million incidents.
they don't tell you that part on the BBC...
this incident proves that the agents of the state are not trustworthy...is it such a mystery that we want to keep our rights like free men
