Standing around in cowboy hats acting like they're tough throwing parents in handcuffs as little children are murdered, absolutely despicable cowards.

Big hats but small testicles.
The drinking water in a group right outside of a school window picture got me. I was like, “Ohhh, are you thirsty? poor you"
All hat no cowboy ..
Unarmed parents wanted to rush inside and get their kids, so why did the police who were armed not go into the building
If another cop was inside and wounded, does anybody think they would wait 40 mins to go inside
Not a chance in hell...
I bet they only killed him once he left the classroom where he killed kids, once he barricaded inside the classroom nothing police can do when he has hostages .
Nope, they protect themselves and their own.
Well, in your hypothetical scenario, were they white cops, or cops of color? How far from the extraction point are they? These cops are cowards, and I doubt they would have gone in for any other cops, unless white and right next to the door. #CowardCOPS
No, i agree
Imagine knowing a shooter is in your child’s school and you have to wait outside while police officers are seemingly just hanging around instead of going in to save the children. I can’t fathom. I just can’t.
See Columbine. It's happened before.
And being stopped from helping a child possibly thier own. I don't care what they try to cover up. I have no words for such madness
This is what the 2nd amendment is for. I'd kill the cops on site
Cowards
The cops should be arrested.
The lesson is distressing but clear: in such a situation, the teachers and children are on their own. They cannot rely on the police. The survivors were those who took actions for self rescue.
Tepublicans are only interested in stopping mass shootings, eventually, using a good guy with a gun.
Not preventing them from happening in the first place. Public safety is not their concern.
Thank the Supreme Court who years ago ruled that the police’s job is not to protect a citizen but to investigate crime and make arrests. This was affirmed by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

One mother did. She was handcuffed for a while. Knew a law enforcement officer and was able to get the cuffs off. She ended up jumping the fence and going inside to reach her child and take the child out.
The best special operator u could ever need in that situation
The cops there went in and got their kids why isn't that being questioned?
You would have to shoot me or tie me up to keep me out of that school if my girls were in there...any bullets the shooter uses on me are less he has left for the children. And I would die knowing I did everything possible.
"We had an active shooter situation " - when parents wanted to go in.
"We had a barricaded situation" - when cops refused to go in.
They waited about an hour to go in while parents outside could hear the gunshots and they were being restrained from going into the school.
Those parents who lost a child are always going to wonder if they could’ve done something to save their children?
If they're shooting at you, they're not looking at the kids. Keep him busy. Engage him. Don't just hold a perimeter while he's on a rampage inside. You're a badass when it's a black kid playing jn a park or a black driver you pulled up, but when it's actually your goddamn job while toddlers are dying all of a sudden you have procedures.

Theres other kids hiding and the shooter is going to diff rooms.. ITs a hostage situation. multi news media tell a diff story and then it gets ran through questioning the cops and yet the news are talking about diff timeline of the encounter like the shots outside was near the ditch area with 3 others that were checking on the gunman when he crashed his truck but he fired at them and other callers thought there was an exchange prior to the gunman running in. And then there was a first shootout later on inside but that was with 3 law enforcement and the gunman open rounds and cops were running out of ammo and had to wait for backup of which the other half of school was being evacuated and law enforcement is trying to figure out if theres more than one shooter in a now growing hostage situation. Parents mad outside while tact team is coming and the gunman is barricaded in and then hears a student place a call and then seems to open fire during which the tact team had to get a school staffer to open a certain door because of lockdown mode and then they have the final exchange with the gunman.
At least this officer is being honest and not providing false information.
Everyone in law enforcement and all leadership up to and including Gov. Abbott needs to be held accountable for this tragic event.
The whole “we were trying to evacuate the other kids” makes no sense. Policy for classes during lockdown is to hide and stay there. We were instructed to not let ANYONE in even if they said they were police. And also it is policy for ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT to immediately engage the shooter. Not to wait for some other team to get there
Cops couldn't take him down in time but the teachers are supposed to do it next time. You know, when we arm art instructors with big guns.
They missed that day at training and in their manual.

So they shouldn't try to get the kids out via the windows?
These are probably the most incompetent cops I have ever experienced. Two days now, and they cannot provide facts. Then, to add insult to injury to the parents, these cops keep changing their stories. Incomprehensible!
Welcome to the cops minorities have to deal with. They've always been incompetent when it suits them.
Right they keep changing their stories. An investigation needs to be done and they need to look at every single camera inside/outside school along with body cameras from the police officers to see what really went on .

Disgusting There is No Eccuse.
Back in my days, I worked corporate security and we had a better security protocol to neutralize a shooter and save all the employees within a building, than these buffoons in badges!
There is simply no excuse for any of those 19 officers to have not gone in, in tactical formation within the school building until they reached their target. Even if they didn’t have bullet proof vests or infrared cameras to see where the target was located, the officer in charge could have sent a group of 3 officers on all sides of the building. That would have left them with 7 officers. Then 4 officers should’ve been sent to the top of the building, while two officers stayed outside giving the parents reports and the 1 officers giving the officer in charge 9/11 reports to make any last minute tactical decisions. All these 21 souls could have been saved if these buffoons could have put in practice the oath they took, which was to serve and protect. And this is why people are fed up with police officers. This is a tragedy that could have been avoided. May they all 21 souls Rest In Peace.
No, not all of them. The few minutes after the first 2 engaged and he got into the classroom means some are dying regardless. Less would have died sure but there's no way to respond that fast unless those same 2 that got shot just kept going and forced themselves in. Nobody has said anything about how fast he killed once he got in. If he starting shooting as soon as he got in the classroom there is no such thing as a fast response for that.
He was "confronted" by officers who are all still alive, unlike the children they were supposed to protect.

It reminds me of the escaped Texas inmate who has still not been caught. He is serving 2 life sentences, got out of cuffs, leg restraints, cut through metal into the drivers compartment of the bus, over powered 2 men with shotguns, and all the Sheriff could do was praise the 2 cops because they shot out the bus tire. They couldn't be more incompetent if they tried.
Same thing with the New York subway shooter, he called 911 himself and said "I hear you're looking for me" and told them his location. The cops at the press conference just praised themselves for catching him.
NYPD was quickly able to identify their suspect in the subway shooting within 2 hours ...that's why the public was able to to finger him.

These cops were cowards - it's that simple. Right from the beginning this cop's story about that day's timeline did not add up and that was because he didn't want to say that the cops were hiding behind patrol cars for nearly an hour while - leaving children with a madman
If the cops were not willing to rush on there and risk their lives to save children then they should have let the parents risk their lives ...
Setting up a perimeter while a madman is inside a school killing people is not acceptable .They know what they signed up for...to protect and serve ....if they are not going to risk their lives to stop school shooters what good are they ? Setting up a perimeter ,waiting for swat ,putting together an assault team all the while children are being executed seems to happen again and again.....were any of them even intelligent enough to warm the school to lock down while they were chasing this idiot and how do they not cut off his retreat into a school or pursue him with all available resources into the school and engage him immediately ? Even if it would have saved one of the kids it would have been worth it..

The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a vote
Prayers for family members 🙏🙏🙏😭🙏🙏
Get the details and be honest, this is not the time to make excuses or cover up any deficiencies. TELL THE TRUTH.
He didn't have anything to tell, except the security guard and police on the scene were useless!!
cops stood around doing nothing, now trying to cover it up
His job is to lie to the public and paint police in a positive light at all times.
@@Wordavee1 Well, he could explain how parents were begging the cops to actually do something. He could have addressed that. But, he didn't, did he? Why would he make excuses for failure?
Welcome to the US government
Why did this officer even give this interview if he knows nothing, the only information we got from him was basically that they spoke to the resource officer and interviewed him. Thanks for that compelling information. This cop talked the entire interview and still gave no relevant information. He can't say he doesn't have a timeline for what happened and he also wants us to believe his officers interviewed the resource officer and haven't reported to him the details of that interview? I don't buy it for a second.
He knows.
Keeping The Info Under His Hat!
Somebody is covering for them self's it not adding up
Because you know better than anyone who was there? Why don't you tell us what really happened then. What narrative will you accept?
@@randal_gibbons why didn’t the kids have guns, they should be armed with a minimum of 22’s. What kind of weak and pathetic Texan sends their kids to school not packing. A knife, brass knuckles, throwing stars, bulletproof backpacks, something anything.
I saw about 50 officers standing around doing nothing!!!
This cop dancing around the reporter's questions like he's the 6th member of N'Sync.
Never trust someone who, when asked a simple question, answers in round-about, long-winded excuses that never really confirm a "yes" or a "no".
He was clearly asked about security camera recordings...
This clown changes the subject to social media posts.
Also: never trust a cop.
Because most questions can't be answered just "yes" or "no"
@@anonnymous31
Your point utterly ignores how this officer continually obfuscated and deflected with his responses.
So, like a politician?
"We don't want people going in, especially unarmed." Because unarmed people have never tackled gunmen and hogtied them with extension cords or whatever was handy before.
It's America, why didn't everyone have guns? What's the point of everyone having guns if only the insane people actually use them? And why does a cop have the right to prevent a parent from tryng to save the life of their own child, to "protect" the parent? And why is it safer to let a crazed gunman stay there shooting children than to let a bunch of unarmed adults charge in there? It's just official cowardice.
Shooter had an ar 15; you’ll be dead 30 feet out, plus officers were already inside, you can’t have parents running a muck as they are trying to conduct operations, confuses everyone involved
@@danablack9898 First of all, bullshit. Don't talk about things you don't know about. The vast majority of active shooter situations end within seconds of the shooter being confronted in ANY way. Secondly, 10 parents vs 1 shooter are good odds. The kid was a coward, that's why he killed and elderly person and shot up an elementary school, those parents stood a good chance. Third, those police stood outside for a fucking HOUR while he killed those kids....they weren't conducting shit. They're absolutely worthless.
cops stood around doing nothing, preventing the parents from going in. cowards
@@JasonBoyce
Preventing the unarmed parents going in and adding to the death toll!!!
The officer is so professional and skilled to explain why it was failed!!
How come this Texas official said the police didn’t allow parents to intervene because it was an active shooting when the on-site commander said they were waiting for more help because they thought the shooter was barricaded in the classroom.? There is a clear contradiction.
Why does it take more than a day to ask the officer if he shot his gun or not? Just look at the gun if it was discharged. Takes less than 5 seconds.
He knows.
He knows the answer to every question he was asked.
More than a day and a half later, he cannot _not_ know.
Because the police investigate themselves
It doesn’t. He’s bulkshittjng the same 2 sentences over and over.
“Unclear if he fired his weapon” and this is what’s called a cover up! Every round is accounted for. You drop your magazine and count the bullets. Simple as that
And test the gun for residue. We see that in shows. They're not fooling us.
This reporter held his composure together much better than I could considering anyone can clearly identify these "facts" have changed so many times. This police officer should definitely run for a political role because he will tell people whatever sounds good at the time.
The punk didn't need a key to get in. But the cops needed a key.
"Preserve further loss of life?", while babies lay bleeding out for 90 minutes? Do nothing? Let him keep killing more children? Wow.
Yeah, and straight from the observably a$$-backwards “pro-life” crowd..
What is going in and dieing going to do? The 2 that followed him both got shot as they were outgunned, they had pistols and he had an AR, if they had went in they would have both been killed, there would have been no point going in if they would have died anyway.
@@seemopps sooooooo, an 18 year old can buy 2 ARs and the police department didn't have any?? 🤔
@@seemopps oh it's dying. Dieing is not a word.

This dude has clearly been instructed to talk in a way to “shield” his co-workers… im unwilling to call these people policeman or any type of word that would even derive meaning of protector or upholder of justice. This is unacceptable. The fact that these people have the audacity to answer with such ignorance in the face of blatant mishandling of this situation is unbelievable. Grateful for those out there that are willing to put their lives at risk and have laid down their life for this country, however accountability and reform are obviously needed.
They are literally doing exactly what cops do…putting their lives over anyone else…the disgusting idolizing of cops that people in this country do is gonna catch up to many of them eventually
Which highlights the systemic problem. They protect bad procedures and bad people, all while touting to be the good guys

Reporter to cop : what's going on
Cop: I have no idea
This is an utter failure by those we entrust to protect us. Once the shooting started this was not a hostage situation there was no need to stay outside.
Cops don't seem to have a problem with killing unarmed citizens all over this country, though.
They had to finish their bearclaws and Folger's.
It's cops. Why does anyone expect anything of them. They are good at killing unarmed people. That's about it.
I understand this to be obstruction of justice by the police. If you don’t have the balls to go in blazing hot and bring that gun man down let the parents in don’t get in the way.
Look up Crown Rock v. Gonzales.
The police are under no legal obligation to protect innocent life. Their job is to only apprehend the criminal.
Supreme Court 2004.
Police can take their sweet time, protect their own kids, and protect themselves. And they cannot be legally held responsible for the loss of life due to their selfish actions.
ACAB
The way the officer dances around the questions is ridiculous. Especially when asked why the police didn't enter for 60 minutes and he kept responding that 2 officers did confront the shooter before he entered the building. We know that already, and that fact only made it more crucial that the police act immediately! He was intentionally trying to mislead with those responses, and that was a lie. I don't trust a thing this cop says. Looks like they're planning a cover-up.
did you just arrive from mars? this is what cops do in every situation. our cops are bullies and thugs. you can't expect them to risk their life.
The narrative, as given, almost sounds like the police conspired with the shooter. This increasingly hypothetical 'resource officer' has a horrible odor.
We've(black and brown people) have been telling people for years that cops lie constantly. It needed a bunch of children to get killed before the realization finally hits home.
It's called "CYA" - cover your ass.
Not "cover up".
"Fuck up"
They better release everything when their "investigation" is over.
If he says “corroborate and investigation” 1000 times, he would sound smart.
A classroom of young kids and two teachers got killed. These lawmen are making their response look like a shitshow
Rather than admit they knew all the time that he had fired his gun, he's WAFFLING!!
This guy knows the truth that for an hour and a half the cops sat outside and refused to go in.
More lives would've been saved if the police WEREN'T there to stop the parents from going in to save their kids.
The kids had more courage than the officers who signed up to protect citizens
