Imagine everyone else hiding from the shooter and here she is going room to room to find her kids. She's the very first one to get inside the hallway and by her instinct got her kids to safety. What a great Mom. She's a valuable witness of what exactly is happening during the most critical time of that incident.
The fact that she had time to get to the school, be detained, get handcuffed, run in and get BOTH kids and cops still hadn’t entered the school is so so crazy! Kudos to this mama! I can’t even imagine.
It's completely a case of cowardice if you ask me they were trained for this kind of thing and all she was was a mama she had no weapon but the weapon love for her children this woman needs to be recognized as a hero and every one of them police officers should be fired in front of her!

Because they are our life, and we will do anything for them. I would give my life in place of my child’s any day. They are my soul. I don’t want to even imagine the pain these parents are going through. A partner who loses their spouse is called a widow. A child who loses their parent is called an orphan. But there is no word in the English language for a parent who loses their child.

As a teacher of 32 years, there is nothing we wouldn't do to protect our students. This mom was absolutely amazing! Nothing compares to the love of a mother. I am glad that we have people who will step up when law enforcement doesn't.
As a student with 10 years of experience, I thank you more experienced teachers for being my most favorite ones. Our teacher (unsure of her level of experience) used to work at an elementary school and has a baseball bat in her room for a situation like this. I heard rumors that teachers from the past had real guns to protect against the shooter. Risking jail for something that is unlikely to happen shows loyalty to your kids.
She deserves an award for bravery. Not just as a brave mother rescuing her children, but for her bravery to give this interview of how officers failed these children.
Absolutely disgusting that she was threatened with a probation violation for calling out the inefficiency of law enforcement.

Running into a building with an active shooter you are completely unaware the location of to save your children all whilst being detained, threatened with prosecution aswell as breaking her agreement with her parole officer is text book heroism. That mom is extraordinarily brave. She couldn’t give a darn that the police were trying to stop here. She knew her kids were in danger, and nothing was going to keep her from them. Extremely admirable of her, and it’s good to see love like that.
As a father i understand. That mom was not brave. Her family was in mortal danger of extinction and her children may have already been killed. She ran not on bravery but on adrenaline and instinct. When she arrived at the school and entered and saw police she would have taken direction and asked how she could help. As she said, there were no police visible where she entered so she was in charge. She assumed command. Really sad here where no one appeared to ever have been in charge until that small swat team got there and acted. Two days after this even my family was at our neighborhood middle school for awards and promotion. It was a very different day. I hope our local law enforcement are trained and prepared and their leaders know what to do and how unlike the little town in Texas. The guy was in one classroom he barricaded himself there ….no one else died besides the people I. It's crazy because when you really hear her story, you realize that children could have been saved. She was no where near the school and still had time to drive to the school, hear gun shots and still rescue her kids.

Also think about the part of her story where she was about to run out from the school. She said the shooting was still going on, which probably means at that moment a few of those babies might have been in the moment of losing their lives and if they police had been in there they could have done at least something to help. When a five foot 100lbs woman has more courage than an entire police force something is very wrong. A mother who’s kids are being threatened is a force of nature, we need more like her in positions of power.

I am a 21 year military veteran, who was on active duty during both Vietnam and Gulf wars and it is beyond me that these armed officers would stay back and make no effort to rescue those little children and teachers! i 100% agree. my dad served as a marines sergeant in the gulf war. i was talking about this with him, and he says it pisses him off knowing they could’ve gone into the school to save those poor kids and teachers, however they did nothing but stand outside, whilst parents were probably horrified and praying that their kids were okay. knowing my dad, if he was one of those police officers, he wouldn’t hesitate to set foot in that building if it meant saving other people. it hurts to know that so much could’ve and should’ve been done during that time yet nobody was brave enough to do so.
They should hire military veterans like yourself, to be guarding American schools. 🙏

Right on. Some good people served abroad and have continued to do so after returning home. Rick Rescorla is one among many who comes to mind. Unfortunately, too many abled-bodied adults seem to lack a sense of independence and initiative. Every single person has to decide on their own what constitutes a cause worth sacrificing their life and comfort for, but I cannot personally think of a more noble one than these men in uniform declined that day.
They had two drills before this shooting took place and we're telling them how to handle potential shootings. They I'm sure taught them to not go in because there wanted a bunch of deaths so they can take our 22nd amendment rights away from us All. Stop this madness because the want bro force vaxx us ALL and this why they want to take our guns from us. It's the eli/tes AGENDA to make boo coo bucks nn these va/ccin/es. Her children were most likely safe once they were behind locked doors. The mother's actions in running to her son's classroom risked both the lives of the police as well as herself. Also, she made the classroom open their doors, which endangers the other kids in there. There is a reason why schools require doors to be locked and barricaded in cases like these. In my opinion, she only cared about her kids and opened the other kids in the classrooms to potential danger. I understand her worries, but it is selfish of her to do that because she wanted to assure her kids were safe.
When she heard gunshots, she said she heard it happen near her first son's classroom. I assume she led the threat there due to the noise of her running to her son's classroom and police trying to get her to safety. 2:11

There was also a dad who was at the barber when the shooting started. He immediately went to the school with his own weapon and he began going through the school and doing everything possible to help the children get out safely while looking for his own kids.
Pretty messed up that parents are far more brave than the entire police force could ever be. That police chief only cared about his seat on the council for his district

Can't judge all cops by these. My husband works around police and one of them is unhappy with this bunch in Uvalde. He said police are trained to run to the fire and not worry about themselves , just take care if the situation. So not all are like these who dropped the ball.
I've met heroic cops and cowardly cops. I wish vetting was better, to weed out the bad ones. They're hated by the good cops, just as much as by us civilians. Bad, cowardly cops put everyone in danger, including their fellow cops.

The officers that rightfully tried to stop her were in charge of the perimeter of the school. It’s their job to not let anyone go in for obvious reasons. She’s talking about running to save her kids, that’s all fine, but her kids were in a totally different building. The cops outside- it wasn’t their job to go inside. It was their job to guard the perimeter. No one was arrested. The cops inside were doing their job, engaging the shooter, keeping him in one area, attempting to negotiate with him. There were also cops getting the other 600+ kids in the school to safety. This isn’t a credible story. It has nothing to do with the shooter or the kids that were in classrooms 111 & 112.
