Big fucking deal - it is not. They've taken NOTHING of significance (this includes Bahkmut last year) and what little they have taken are heaps of rubble. The objectives have been whittled down over time from taking the country and reinstalling Yunakovich, to now just trying to retake the two break away provinces of Luhansk and Donetsk. While Luhansk is mostly taken, Donetsk is barely over 50%. Meanwhile each of the two oblasts have had their populations gutted.
Russia still holds less land now than they did during the first month of invasion 22% vs 32% and these figures include Crimea and the two provinces mentioned.
The number of Russians being removed from the earth far outpaces previous casualty rates other than the attacks at Vuhledar two years ago. This is excellent news, a generation removed is less people to fight later.

Who was against allowing Ukraine to become a NATO member? On 4 April 2022 former Chancellor Angela Merkel defended her statement back in 2008 at the NATO summit in Bucharest to block Ukraine from joining NATO. Russia would have thought twice before invading Ukraine if she would not had blocked it.

A few points for me after watching this video
1. For us Americans, its is disappointing that there is this expectation that the US will send aid and that we should be blamed for the territory Ukraine lost while Congress was debating sending more aid. We are not the United States of Ukraine, and we are not obligated to protect Ukraine. These politicians want to throw the US under the bus, but where was the EU when Congress was debating? The EU, collectively, has an economy that is as large as the US, so maybe they should be contributing more. Ukraine is in their backyard, not ours.
2. If Europe was really worried about Russia not stopping at Ukraine (as they keep saying), but with an expectation that further US aid might come down that track (as it did (or even beyond now, and only after the November election)), then you could question why on earth didn't western European countries pump more money in (as a stop-gap measure)? And the reason for not doing that basically was "no, no because if America sees we are willing to put more $'s in, they will think then they can roll back their support and funding somewhat, should the clowns in the circus tent (GOP in Congress) settle down and come to their senses. Or put another way, should that happen a more balanced approach to funding support between the US and Europe. As you say, western Europe combined has more people and a higher GDP in total than the US.
The current arrangement is pushing the US closer to total bankruptcy with every passing day.
3. The NATO alliance will not survive at this pace and this Rate if the total plan of action for Europe is to sit back and let the United States delegate this entire crisis I was in Europe 3 months ago and when I was there everybody that was talking about the Ukrainian-Russian war the consensus point in Italy Germany Poland Denmark Sweden even in Paris was that well the Americans are going to take care of it for us that continent is asleep at the wheel I was in Sweden people were swimming in The Lakes like it was partying going out of style distasteful as their neighbors in Ukraine fight and die they are having a pool party and they wonder why Americans don't want to fund this war given that Ukraine isn't a part of the United States and it's not a member of NATO I don't think the aid will last much longer beyond the Biden Administration that's if Uncle Joe wins the election.
