I know this is a rather old video, but I wanted to comment anyway. As a disabled (ill, and nearly bedridden) individual this was really fun. I used to LOVE going on rollercoasters, and no it's not quite the same, but this is still pretty darn cool!👍

The layout of this wooden coaster is just amazing. The lifthill underneath the lifthill, the 180° turn before the final drop, etc.
Put this video on 1.25 speed, no camera can capture movement as fast as a Rollercoaster, so this will make it more realistic.

It is fun, really fast! It doesn't seem to lose much speed at all throughout the ride. Knoebels may be a small park, but they have an awesome assortment of rides that put many larger parks to shame. Twister and Phoenix alone are two of the best wooden coasters out there IMO. Phoenix is consistently ranked in the top 10 golden ticket awards every year.
It’s ok. The Phoenix is a lot more fun though. Twister is so rough and shaky it’s rediculous.
Godzilla Conspiracy Theory You think this coaster is that rough? Lol you need to ride some other woodies out there that have been neglected. It's shakey in some spots but that's part of what makes it fun. It's not like it isn't rerideable!

That's how I found out about it. I had to find out which one and where it was and was thrilled to no end to find that it was within reasonable driving distance of us.

I rode this 7 times with my daughter a few weeks ago and it has became my favorite roller coaster I’ve ever rode I highly recommend it to any fun seeker it’s fast and fun turns!!!
This coaster is an inexact homage to Mr. Twister at the old Elitch Gardens. I haven't ridden the Knoebels Twister, but Mr. Twister was the first big coaster I ever rode.
It needed to be changed due to the space constraints but they did an excellent job, it's a worthy successor. The original plan was to move Mr. Twister like they did with the Rocket but the state of the timber caused them to change their mind and build a new coaster from the ground up. There is however a gold painted bolt on one of the supports that was taken from Mr. Twister.
@CoolNerdTV It's those space constraints that are the reason why the ride has the split lift hill.

I like how this roller coaster has fences in it. So that, when something goes wrong, at least, the passengers don't have to worry to evacuate.
This was my very first roller coaster, I remember being launched out of my seat and almost side smashing into my friend. I cannot wait to go back this summer!
Love that lift tease, and then a full 180 into the drop. Nice curved station, a unique touch.

The teases are some of the best parts of the coaster if you ask me and the drop is awesome. The curved station also is very rare, I think this is the only wooden coaster in the world that uses one. The old style skid brakes are what allow it which is one of the reasons Knoebels chose them for this coaster, despite it being built in 1999. More modern braking systems require straight track.

I grew up near here and my father worked at Chef Boyardee. Every summer the plant would have their company picknick at Koebel's! Great times that I miss!!!

Knoebels really has one of the great woodie collections ever. This being an amazing lateral based in house made coaster. Phoenix being an insane airtime machine of a classic woodie. Flying turns being possibly the most unique wooden coaster in the world. That’s just one reason this park is amazing.
Looks like a really good wood coaster, Love the Long Old school coasters. They did good job with this 1930s type feel.

The Twister isn't as rough as the Phoenix! Both are awesome and if anyone is ever in Pa that hasn't been highly recommend Knobles! They have something everyone of all ages can enjoy

It's been so many decades since I've road this coaster and it was great back then! Driving to Knoebels & finding it was a challenge in itself and I'd never try to find it at dusk to night-time. No way! Knoebels plus all the amusement parks in the State of PA is on my bucket list whereas I'm going to spend like a month 1/2 just riding rollercoasters! I'm retired now & I can include day's when it's raining & I'd simply state at my hotel and cool out! I know it's going to be past great!

Yeah, I know. I have been reading about Knoebels, for years, on the Theme Park Review website, and it looks and sounds great. Good food, nice prices, free parking, Phoenix the Coaster, all of that good stuff. For some odd reason, I keep forgetting to go there. Next year, it will be on my list, for sure. I went on this on June 28, 2023. It was fun, it went right next to our campsite right at or after the tunnel.

Coaster Crazy You have to change the quality setting. Not all devices will display the 4K version.
First of all, the higher you can have source material the better. Secondly, the problem is on your end because I'm watching it on my iPhone SE and it doesn't look pixelated at all. Try adjusting your settings. I can watch it on my SE at 1440 which is AMAZING quality. And considering we now have over a 1 million subs on our channel, even if only 10% of them could watch in 4K (which isn't true) that would still be 100,000 people and that's totally worth offering a higher quality option, which no one is forcing you to choose! So please, do some research and figure out how to use the app because it sounds like you're doing it wrong.

Why is there a wooden plank in the middle of the rails in some of the bands? I see that quite a lot in other wooden coasters, but don't understand the purpose of it
menno duk it's basically a crosswalk. It allows maintenance to cross the track to the catwalk on the other side. Usually occurs when the banking is high and one side of the track loses the catwalk because of the resulting track position.

This coaster is a blast! So is knoebels, the amusement park in the middle of the woods. I've been on Twister probably over 100 times. It's rough In the back seat lol. Bad ass coaster though I recommend it if your ever in the area.
