    Hogan as the wwf champ takin a absolute shit on the title makes me lmao every time. "this belt is a toy" "the wwf title is just a steppingstone"

    Bret getting the rub from guys like Savage, Roberts, Hogan, or Warrior would have been huge. He didn't have many big heels to counter other than Yokozuna. Flair was briefly there when he was champion.

      I always thought they made a mistake by having Bret’s WWF title win against Flair not be on a PPV. That would’ve made it so much more special. Because I remember tuning in to TV one night shortly after and they announce “new WWF Champion Bret Hart” and I’m like “huh??”

    Fun Fact:
    The parking lot in which WWF set up their makeshift arena for Wrestlemqnia 9 had also been used as the site for another rather underwhelming sporting event that lasted two years before disappearing.
    The 1982 and '83 Formula One seasons ended in that same car park which was used to host the Las Vegas Grand Prix, it was a race that was so hated by the teams and loathed by the drivers that several prominent magazines covering the sport rated the season ending races held there "the worst races of the season" and one publication called "the mickeyest mouse of a race they'd ever seen.

    I will NEVER believe that Warrior was EVER going to submit to Bret.

    Warrior wasn’t gonna tap out to Bret right before Wrestlemania.

    • @johnselwitz5362
      @johnselwitz5362 Před 2 lety +1

      Exactly. The only scenario in which Warrior would’ve been willing to submit to Bret’s sharpshooter is if it occurred AT Wrestlemania IX in the main event, and for Vince to pay Warrior truckloads of money for doing the job.

    Undertaker’s streak was talked about starting at WM14 with Kane.

      I remember when he beat HHH first time at WM 17 (I think) and they mentioned he was 7-0. They didn't make a big deal of it until later but that's the earliest mention that I recall

      @glenncanning8189 Před 2 lety +1

      I think they mentioned that he was unbeaten, but I don't remember it as being part of "the streak" yet. Most of the heat with that match was all the brother-versus-brother, magic powers stuff that had been part of the buildup to that feud.

    Bret Hart defeating Macho Man Randy Savage for the title, should have been the finale for WM9. Macho would have been willing to pass the torch to Bret, plus the match would have been excellent.

    • @borednow5838
      @borednow5838 Před 7 lety +7

      It would have made for a much better main event. Though having had Yoko win the rumble and given him the big killer heel push then I think it made sense to have him go over. Bret going over clean against Hogan at Summerslam would have been a great way to confirm his main event status and for Hogan to end his WWF career (at the time). There was no excuse for Hogan to screw over Bret like that. He's a talent not a booker or promoter. Its none of his business who they choose to replace him with.
