Guys, this was my very first wrestling super card in real time at 10 years old. The tv driving this show was can't miss. Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard feud for US title was intense. The I Quit match was ahead of its time. There are NO holds in the match that I recall. Yes, I was pissed when I tuned in Saturday morning after Starrcade 85 and Flair had the title returned to him.

Barry Whindam was supposed to get the Magnum role. He was gonna beat Wahoo for the US title at Starcade 84 and get a huge push. Barry went to New York, so Dusty picked Magnum instead. After Magnum’s accident, Barry was brought back and got the role that was originally created for him.

The interesting thing is that when Crockett bought Georgia he kept Flair as a face in the Carolinas teaming with the other faces in Mid Atlantic against the Russians and even Tully while in Georgia he was teaming with the Andersons, who were heels, and feuding with Magnum.

Course Magnum's car accident in 86 threw a big wrench into the plans going forward. Had they slowly expanded, not held the Bashes in stadiums, not taken Starrcade outta Greensboro and Atlanta, and not moved the offices to Texas, they would've been around at least into the 90s

They could have kept Flair face. They could have build three top babyfaces Flair, Dusty and Windham with Tully leading the Anderson brothers. Cause Tully was a true heel. People would have bought tickets to see him get beat up.

Johnny Skinwalker Ted DiBiase easily could have come in and been the head of Tully and the Andersons. Does great business in programs against Flair, and against Dusty.
Jake Roberts could have been the pinnacle heel of that era.

Crockett should changed Booker's in 88. Dusty was burned out of booking in 87. Also Crockett should never bought UWF. It was downfall of the company. Dusty booking Crockett spending killed the NWA.
