There's a form of trauma therapy call EMDR that involves eye movement and desensitization. It seems to really work and no one really knows why. I would put my money on this being the reason video games help (if they actually do). It is missing a desensitization aspect though.

The idea that the cure to PTSD is literally flashing multicoloured lights is unreasonably funny to me.
Like, cancer is horrible, but imagine if we just found out that to cure it all you had to do was drink a shot of olive oil or something equally mundane. Sure I mean it's good that we found it, but, like, fuckin' seriously? I don't know it just feels comedically underwhelming.

You were 100% correct on the baby game pretending to be the Baby in Yellow, not only with the models and grabbing movements, but the exact same gameplay and some extremely similar gameplay beats (like the diaper being stolen and the "feed the girl/baby you monster" text")
I'd recommend the Baby in Yellow to anybody curious, its a genuinely really fun game

Old fire+brimstone teachings of hell were basically their idea of horror, and there's plenty of ancient tales of like, vampires, cryptids or whatever that, while they were meant to be instructional at the time, could also have sparked a morbid interest in some.
