- In this Microsoft Flight Simulator video, we go back to basics and start again with the FlyByWire A32nx, since it has had multiple updates I thought a new series aimed at the beginner would be helpful.
In episode one we start by downloading the installer and setting up the simbrief profile, we then connect our A32nx to simbrief and setup the MCDU for a flight from Manchester to Dusseldorf.
For more advanced users have a look at my descent planning video:

Thanks so lot for FlyByWire A32nx Beginner Tutorial teach
Thank you for your support!!
@@RealSimPilothi its me again. I still cant figure out the pitch trim thing. Can u maybe explain as simple as you can?
An excellently paced tutorial without any bells or whistles. Looking forward to the next two. Cheers.😁
Start at 10:54 for flow..Love this. I’ve been using it for every flight. The fly by wire check list doesn’t really explain flow and this really does. Thank you!
Best tutorial I’ve seen. I’ve had real problems since installing this but your video has answered everything
These videos are fantastic mate, thank you very much. I'm setting up my plan Manchester to Dusseldorf and following it to the letter. I will be flying this route today through all of your tutorials.
This is by far the best tutorial out there! Cheers!
7 minutes into to this, and this is terrific. Great voicework. Your cadence just keeps everything humming along.
Best beginners tutorial by a country mile. Great work! Thank You 😊
The best tutorial I have come across by far.Brilliant
You’re my guy! Needed this bro! Love the accent too! Much gratitude from across the pond in the USA!
Thanks for your informative videos. the A32NX is the only airliner i have ever been able to fly and have been able to program the MCDU from scratch 🇿🇦
Two years flying the sim from Cessna 172 to CJ4. I think it's about time to jump into the A320/747. Initially very overwhelming, your tutorial is perfect. SimBrief sure helps smooth the experience by the looks of it.
2 years?! I only flown those planes for 2 months then used the big planes (i got tired of the small planes)
But hey, great job for flying them for so long! I only got this game in december played a little bit, then played again 2-3 months ago.
@@purplemate340i flew the 152 for the tutorial and immediately starting learning the commercial systems. I don’t think it’s a skill thing at all. It just depends what you want to fly and when. Big planes aren’t hardest to fly by any means. Just takes the person wanting to do it so you doing it in less time doesn’t make you better just like me doing it immediately means nothing. Just chose different courses
@@JbBackFeeble Yes, you are completely correct. I did pretty much what you did but I used the TBM 930 for some reason I don't know. And I also didn't do the tutorial because they were glitchy for me
great video, really insightful - i'll be rewatching and walking myself through this, thank you
Wow great video and lots of Knowledge for a beginner like me thanks and well done .
Exceptionaly detailed. A great video to start like a pro. Thanks !
I’m not gonna lie this is the best video to help me and my career
Great tutorial. It gives a perfect overview. I will immediately watch the next episode
This is golden mate, please keep them coming!! 🤘👌💪
Absolutely great tutorial, clear and simple to follow. I found that quite a bit has changed, especially the websites' UIs and some things on the plane, this makes it tricky at times but still a great tutorial and helps find your way!
This tutorial needs an update
That's an amazing tutorial, thank you so much for the work here. Really helpful !
Thanks for the detailed video on the A32NX really helped kickstart my journeys with the aircraft thanks again:)
Thank you so much, this was what I needed to see. Very clear walkthrough. Notes have been taken :)
This was extremely helpful I wrote my own checklist in a little book so I can refer to it now :)
wow, gonna do this for the weekend. thanks man
Very helpful, thanks and looking forward to more videos 🙃
Thank you so much for this I just got this sim and I love it but your tutorials are the best you have a new sub now❤❤❤❤
Thanks, this really got me going!
Geweldig. Echt bedankt. Ben druk aan het leren.
единственный из всего ютуба кто мне реально помог с автопилотом, спасибо :)
coooolllll, like all, waiting for more episodes....
tnx
You didn't connect the jetway before boarding. I imagine all the passengers walking out the end of the open jetway one by one and piling up on the tarmac below :-/
Lol
Someone should make a mod where this actually happens 😛
@@Kateyangyuqing lemmings!
Worked just fine in Lemmings 😕
You mean similar to Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber, only multiples 😂
Extremelly well video, thanks and thanks
Great content man, thanks for making this to all of us, as a suggestion for future videos I would equalize audio, the noise coming from your mice moving around is a little to loud.
Thanks so lot
Excelente tutorial thank you so much. Can you just tel me how did you obtain the trim calculation of 2 based on the ZFW? You mentioned from your checks list, is that a calculator somewhere i can use? I looked for the trim value everywhere in the MCDU but can’t find such thing. Thank you again
Very, very good tutorial....thanx for your effort....
SUPER Tutorial. I am a beginner. The best instruction video that I have ever seen till date on CZcams.
Keep up the excellent work.
It really does not get better that this. T
hank you for all the hard work.
It is just Brilliant. :)
If possible can you Please o the same line of videos for the PMDG 737-800/700. It would make life so much better for all ou us out here to learn from you. Thanks
Awesome videos. The A32NX and Sim brief tutorials and run through. Awesome. Thank you,
hi, my game keeps crashing when i select the Flybywire a32NX package, please help :(
@@redcapiano9544 I've been having the same issue recently. I went ahead and bought the FENIX.
@@nicky6728 and it worked fine ? I’m actually wanting to get a realistic aircraft experience. Does the MCDU database up-to-date, and all of their buttons work ? Because some of them are inoperative in the default
@@redcapiano9544 Yes. I am no longer experiencing the same issues. MCDU is more advanced. Flight pad isn't as user-friendly but it still does everything you need. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet.
@@nicky6728 thanks 🙏🏻
great video thank you very much.......will be a big help
outstanding! :)
Thank you so much for these 3 episode's on the a320 flybywire and also for positioning the overhead instruments in the center and not from a pilots angle where i was able to follow you on starting up in cold and dark. Thank you thank you thank you. Also how can i get liveries in my aircrafts and how do i download it into the aircraft
Very good video thanks bro
Cant tell you how much this video has helped, thank you. One question though about pitch trim, after checking your ZFW on the MCDU in Fuel Pred how did you get the pitch trim from that? As you mentioned checklist but the checklist on the tablet doesnt say anything for me under pitch trim.
Indeed. I tripped here. Beginners don't know where to look for that.
Great Video!!!! waiting for episode 2!!! Thank you!!!!
BEST video on CZcams! You’re a legend thank you!
Hii, I love the video, it's helping me a lot, ty! :D
I have one question, if i need rudder trim ( 27:29 ) how do I know it? I'm new and I don't know where to look.
tysm for this
Thank youyyyy
Since they have made many updates is this still the best tutorial out there?
Brilliant!
Thanks!
Well Done 👏
This is an amazing video to get started. Quick question - how did you determine the pitch trim?
Thanks fornl watching! There's a graph on the flybywire checklist at the bottom of the page. docs.flybywiresim.com/pilots-corner/SOP/
Thanks man, this is harder than i expected , i literally spent like 45 mins just turning on the air craft lol
Nice tutorial, great to hear a SA accent in MSFS2020 :)
thank you for this wonderfully explained video .. I have a question you dont mention anything about atc IFR clearance how do i get that ?? thanks
where do i know wich pitch trim should I use?. Excelent job with this tutorial btw mate.
Thank you much for your great and very educative videos. I have one little thing, I don't get:
Regarding the trimming, you mention in 27:21 checklist, where you apprently read out that the trim for a ZFWCG of 24.3, the trim is UP 2. Whre may I find the mentioned Checklist?
Many thanks for your help!
Regards,
Eddeig
There's a checklist available to download on the flybywire website.
@@RealSimPilot Sorry for being so stupid, it was there in front of me all the time, but I didn't notice what was at the bottom of the page :-(
Again, many thanks!
Where can you find the checklist?
Can ‘sort o’ fly the 737, but been waiting for a beginner series on the airbus….. cheers
Looking at getting the 737. Never flown it. Perhaps a beginner tutorial for beginners by a beginner!
Hey man, great stuff! I've been needing the help with the newer versions of the FBW A32NX. Question for ya... how is your FlyPad displayed like that? Mine does not have any checklists or anything, and mine is also displayed as the default one you could say.. so how did you get yours to look like that? thanks!
Which version of the A32nx are you using?
@@RealSimPilot I’m using the stable version if that’s what you mean and mine looks as Will is saying.
I guess that he is using the experimental version.
Thanks Very Much for the tutorial. I will be re-watching this and taking notes for quite a while. At 16:50 in the video is the boarding announcement part of the FlyByWire A32NX addon or is it a separate addon (if so which addon is it)?
It's part of the addon
Amazing video but one quick question. On the newest version of the A32NX there is no option under flypad or the AOC for adding your simbrief user ID.
It's moved to the flypad under 3rd party options
Really love the video, actually learned a bit, time to get flying.
I only have one question, on the MCDU i cant access the weight/balance it is greyed out?
Is there something i can do to fix it?
Thank you! It has moved to the Flypad. Use the EFB to do the weight and balance.
Thank you so much👍🏼
Your videos are well done ! - I wish it were that simple, I still have issues starting engines, and have been able to setup detents once, then never again. It just is wonky (is that the word) Like that Ryan Air jet spinning around on the tarmac.
I can still Fly and its great with the new Mini Cockpit device, although the Push to Manage doesnt seem to hold, I have to push then pull or the other way to get the buttons to work the way intended. I notice you didnt turn on the Radar for weather/terrain... and I cant find the Air Traffic setting .. I see yu had it on but didnt see the process.
Thanks again ! I decide to re watch yet more of your videos trying to nail down the Engine Start and other details of the FBW A320 sinsce MSFS is stil setting up rolling cache after 1 hours. gah!
Love it! Only question is, where is the pitch trim info on the OFP?
It's not on the OFP it's on the bottom of the checklist. Avaliable on thr FBW website.
Enjoyed your video very helpful
but I do have a issue with my air craft once you take off & get a positive rate of climb & start to raise the landing gear the engines shutdown & end up crashing
am I missing something ? hope you can help.
Very good tutorial. Do you need to do the throttle detents every time you begin a flight?
No it's only necessary to do it once.
This tutorial is amazing! I am having some issues with the MCDU, the W/B option is greyed out and unavailable. Curious if you ran into this at any point! Appreciate your content!
Since making the video it has moved to the EFB. W/B is now done on the FlyPad. Thanks for watching.
thanks for asking i had the same?
@@RealSimPilot hello where on the flypad. sorry im new to this

Weight and Balance is now done via FBW's Flypad EFB
The fly pad is the tablet on the captains side. Weight and Balance should be the second or third navigation button (the little icons on the left), labeled "ground". Once on that page, there are buttons just below the top right, labeled fuel, payload, pushback and ground (I think). You start on ground.
Fuel is obvious, it fuels the aircraft (either in real time, "fast" or instantly)
pushback is the flybywire pushback tool
payload is for passengers and cargo (Also has the three speeds; real time, fast and instant)
Ground is for things like Jetbridge/Jetway connection, Catering, Baggage Truck etc.
There is an icon on the Fuel and Payload pages that looks like a cloud. That downloads the fuel numbers calculated by Simbrief (should you have linked it with a flight)
To start the fueling/boarding process, click the arrow (right facing, like this ->) on the respective pages. If you feel like its too fast or too slow, you can change the speed as you board.
Your weight and balance will change accordingly, both during and after the process. (Though for things like ZFW calculations I heavily recommend you wait for the plane to be completely full.)
@@Irrelevant-Individual Thanks for providing these details!
Hi love your tutorials. Just a question. How do you toggle the outside views? What keys are they on the keyboard? Cabin window views etc etc
For Cockpit and external camera you press the key End. I hope that this helped
Thx for the video.I have been flying the a320nx for a while but not using navigraph. Is it necessary in your opinion?I should mention my set ups and flights are not as detailed as yours so I will sub and follow closely.Re the aig aircraft mine only show one airline as well as the usual stock colors.Do you offer detailed instructions so I can see where I went wrong?Thank you.
It's only necessary to have the latest charts if you're going to fly online(vatsim) otherwise you can find charts online for free but some are outdated.
Hey there
How do I enter M020 on wind trip correctly as it says its a format error if I try to do it like that?
And is there an option to double check the ZFWCG? Since my zfw was a different one from the ofp, so i entered the one from the ofp into the mcdu but I am still missing the right number for ZWCG.
Wonderful tutorial, but still confuse why altitude selector in A32nx cannot switch anytime like A320?
Very helpful video!
I have one question: What's the sound at 25:56? I have always noticed it when I was flying as a passenger and always wondered what it is.
It's the ptu (power transfer unit) you can google airbus barking noise
@@RealSimPilot thank you very much!
Hi
Great in depth video, I’m new to the FBW 320 and getting to grips with the setup but can you tell me how you manage to taxi so fluently? My nose wheel is slow to react and then all of a sudden turns sharply! I’ve read on FBW it’s because of the hydraulic system .. I use the thrust master captains pack and it’s fine on the other Airbus series . Thanks again
Thanks for watching.
Do you have rudder pedals? I use the twist axis on my flightstick mapped to the nosewheel tiller function separate from my rudder pedals.
docs.flybywiresim.com/fbw-a32nx/feature-guides/nw-tiller/
See if this guide helps.
Thanks for the reply , I’ve now managed to map all axis to the FBW and what a difference it makes when it’s done correctly, I’m now as good as you on taxi 😉 thanks again and your videos are great for getting people used to the FBW 320
Great video!
Just a quick question. When I program the MCDU, the weight/balance tab is dimmed and does not let me click on it. Do you know why and how do I fix it?
Same
same here.... any update?
@Vid Vlahek Well apparently this part of the mcdu programming is just loading the data into the simulator itself and not the aircraft, so I skipped this part and went straight for the "difsrip" stage of the programming. It made sense because the w/b had already been taken care for when loading the ofp parameters into the payload tab on the flight pad itself. Hope it helps.
Just found this channel spot on mate. Thanks for this. Just one thing when you click on the sim brief airframe link, it doesn't go to the page you show it shows more links. Not sure what i need to click on to get the screen you did. Thanks very much.
It's no longer required as simbrief has the airframe profile available now. Choose A20N as your aircraft and then choose flybywire all versions as your variant.
@@RealSimPilot Yes sorted. Thank you.
I see WB (weigh and balance) in the MCDU only for the stable version of A320NX and not for the other two versions updates. Do you have an idea how to fix the issue. Thanks in advance. Love your videos! Always using them as a guide. Never thought flybywire is so good and makes things real. Am actually enjoying setting the cockpit and instruments more than the actual flight itself. Another thing I enjoy is landings. Cheers mate
The WB has moved to the EFB. It's now done on the Flypad. Thank you

Hi i have a question for you ! why i have a dct departure from cyvr to calgary...i didnt try another flight plan but i wonder why i don't have a nice departure routing like you have here...
10:10 Kitty has entered the cockpit 😂
Sorry I have one more question. Can you get the VOR and flight ceiling restriction from your sim brief or is that only a navigraph capability?
That's from the navigation data or airac which comes with MSFS and does get updated with the sim updates.
Hello. Can you help me? Thanks for your video. I’m trying this for the first time. In your video at -19.51, I’m not seeing the same page as you. There’s no flight on the page. Also the option pages look different on my flypad. Thanks.
Hi this was a rly good tutorial but i have an issue i will input the data as you do everythings good but ill look at my flight plan on the screen and it will only shows my departure waypoint and doesn’t load any of my waypoints do you know how to fix this?
can I use the default one and not the flight planner from the website? because I want to have access to the fast travel section via the toolbox in the sim
thank for this video, where i can find the pusch back?
Where did you get the pushback pullbar application? That looks amazing
I used to use toolbar pushback but GSX is better
@@RealSimPilot Where do I get that?

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? My FBW A320 is recognised by the sim, a flight can be set up etc however when launching the flight the game just hangs on the loading screen between starting the flight and the flight deck/flight properly starting?
When entering the information the button to get the passengers boarded is grayed out. Am i doing something wrong or did something change with updates?
I got caught out by the legacy controls thing! I was wondering why I couldn't set the thing
This has absolutely helped but also confused me because before this I was using the atc toolbar thing and it seemed OK, but now I can't really use that at all.. Maybe it's meant to be like that but I'm abit concerned it won't recognise my flight properly.
Do you have the flight plan for this route? I tried making my own but it plans a different router on SONE1Y. There are discontinuity's on the route that wont clear and I got stuck....
Thanks for a wonderful tutorial man!. I have one question, when i am in the AOC menu, my W/B is grey in color and nothing happens when i click on it. Is there something i am missing?

even after i put the right amount of fuel in the flypad when i go to the mcdu after initializing the flt pln the W/B is greyed out for some reason. Also, I am not seeing altitude changes in the flight plan on the MCDU. I see the cruise altitude and the landing altitude but nothing in between.
Do you use the navigraph form the fly pad?
Hello mate. awesome tutorial. question: when you installed the A32NX you also got a lot of liveries. when i installed i did not get those. i only got 2. How do i get the leveries you have?
Flightsim.to
Hi! I have a question. How did you turn off the ATC?
Nice tutorial. I just can’t get the iPad in the plane. I just got this game
Hi :) How do you find ur first altitude limitation to set it up? I’m a total beginner
Would usually be on the standard instrument departure chart if there is a limit. Otherwise you're free to climb to your cruising altitude
If you don't have a navigraph subscription will the constraints appear on your ND?
Yes they will. Navigraph is simply a charting software
Is the PMDG 737-600 (for example) easier to startup from Cold and Dark, and how does the fps-peformance differ between the two?
I reckon pmdg is probably a bit more complicated at first (more buttons and switches) but as with everything it gets easier. I think PMDG is more FPS friendly
Does the aircraft have a save/autosave function? If not, does the sim have this function? Im currently in xp11 so thats why Im curious.
There is currently no such feature for the A32nx
